Tiefes Bohren in verbotene Früchte

All aboard for the yadi, yadi, yadi deliciousness of Maximilian Brauer aka: Max der Kodierer as Peer Gynt in Vinge, Müller & Reinholdtsen´s splendorous version of the Ibsen classic at the Volksbühne. Max is Buster Keaton physicality mixed with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle pathos/bathos.

So many delights abound in this sterling production. Its all about the details with Vinge/Müller/Reinholdtsen and their 8 hour opus. Endurance theatre has never looked and sounded so good--pure geniustrata.

Everyone in the auditorium was holding their pee, not wanting to go to the toilet lest they miss a moment of far flung spectacle. Everything in this production is of mega importance especially the brilliant Susanne Bredehöft an actress worthy of idol worship.

A lusty troll doll offers up lactated buttermilk, plus Jane Powell/Kathryn Grayson high C Susi taking the form of Ingrid Thulin, Signe Hasso and Ingrid Bergman. Ah the wonderously joyous sounds with music that is exalted, hallucinogenic, cascading into Grand Ole Opry territory with hilarious scumkleptic hijinks.

Another character in this pageant is the sets and costumes/maske by Ida Müller. Ms. Müller is Theoni V. Aldredge and Cecil Beaton. Her talents hold no boundaries.

Vinge/Müller/Reinholdtsen are taking theater to its next level. It is a must as we face heedless, cruel times where nothing is assured and everything is fragile with sudden disaster just a zing zing zing goes my heart strings away on that ill fated trolley ride to get sharted on by the boy nexus door.
