WIEDERHERSTELLUNG

That wonderful tiny Love Camel aka: Andrea Novarin has been staying with me attending the Berlinale International Film Festival.  We’ve had a blast together arguing and carrying on in utter nonsense.  On his last day in Berlin Camel took me to breakfast around the corner on the Marlene D. street of Lebener Strasse to a relatively new trendy boite called MokaLola where I had the most divine egg scramble with herbs and a plump croissant.  The owner was a spritely Turkish fellow who saw us standing outside and promptly invited us to come inside.  You never get that kind of gracious treatment at restaurants in Berlin.  Usually it’s the opposite along with a frown.
So sad that Camel is going back to London, but I am happy for him as he has a brand new job working with the Internet Movie Database in Bristol.  Camel had worked for many years at the British Film Institute.  His new employ begins in March and he will sublet his beautiful and conveniently located London flat and move to Bristol where he has a six month contract.  Camel took me to Sunday brunch at More Café at Nollendorky Platz.  I have had lots of nice meals at this place, but the service and food was a little lacking on this particular visit.  Camel has been such sweatheart treating his Vagimule doll to an early birthday din din at Santa Maria and buying me a new computer as my last one went kaput.  I don’t have a good track record when it comes to technologies.
Love Camel and Jewish Muslim Daniel Hendrickson were my escorts to the Salzgeber Editions Sissy Magazine yearly Berlinale shindig this time located at their new digs on Prinzessinin Strasse at MoritzPlatz.  Jan Kuenemond the elfin editor of Sissy Mag is a cute, softspoken and sincere little booty pie that so many men and women in Berlin have the hots for.  The soiree was fun.    A woman from Leipzig who I believe runs a kino there was this year’s winner of the Salzegeber Prize.
Berlin parties never get down and dirty as people are too reserved here to let themselves go in the way that I require, but there was a hefty and generous buffet provided by an establishment called Hillmann , and free flowing liquor all night which makes up for the general Berliner social awkwardness.  Seen cavorting about:  legendary filmmaker Monika Treut  looking svelte and lovesexy, Manuel Schubert of FilmHighlights Magazine with his juicy pal Olivier and a posse of large peniled accolytes, humpy Toby Rauscher, French actors Jeremy Renier and his lover Gaspar Ulliel who met while filming the Yves Saint Laurant biopic, intellectual studkin Christian Weber with Ramon Zuercher whose film Das merkwuerdige Kaetzchen (The Little Cat) is screening as part of the Forum section of the Berlinale.
The film that excited Love Camel the most at the festival was a Dutch/German production called Its All So Quiet(Boven is het Stil) an austere and subtle six reeler from Netherlandic  auteur Nanouk Leopold.  The hornpig in the Camel was pickled pink by a Babylonian gorgon of a supporting player named Martijn Lakemeier who was the films youthquaking eyecandy.
The other night I saw a late screening of Deshora by Argentine Barbara Sarasola-Day which started off nicely with a premise involving a middle aged couple and a young interloper who I didn’t find all that attractive. What Deshora needed was Mehdi Dehbi the Arab/French star of Je Ne Suis Pas Mort(I’m Not Dead).  This boy and his perfect hair and pillow lips kept me completely enthralled.  I guess Mr.Dehbi’s director Medhi Ben Attia is also wrapped up in the house of Mehdi Dehbi, bathing him in nice languid closeups.  The director must be a closet shrimp-aholic because he lingered just a little too long on his star’s beautiful and manly bare feet in one early scene.  The  best way to describe Je Ne Suis Pas Mort is to say it’s a magical realism version of Freaky Friday with fey Frenchman Emmanuel Salinger in the Barbara Harris role, and the luscious Mr. Dehbi as Jodie Foster.  I could even forgive the film for letting glamour girl Maria de Medeiros run amok, but If I was them I would excise that horrible theatre scene-yuksville.
Excitement was stirring as I attended the world premiere of my former German\Polisch student Marcin Malaszczak first feature Sieniawka.  This flicker is a majestic tone poem, dazzling in its slowcore visual detox and Anti Benjamin Britten soundscore.  The Cinestar 8 house was SRO and I predict that my lovely young Marcin is going to emerge as a major film talent that everyone will be squawking about.  Not only did he direct the film but he was also the cinematographer.  Yowza!
Saturday I had to rush to Kino Internationale to catch a screening of Bob Fosse’s Cabaret.  I hadn’t seen it in almost ten years when it played at the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Blvd with a post screening Q&A with the films star Michael York.
It was important to me to see Cabaret here in Berlin where it really resonates.  Under the Berlinale Classics Retrospektive banner that highlights new restorations I was a bit perplexed as this is one restoration  that  could benefit from a little more fiddling.  But I shan’t get all nitpicky, after all the film is 42 years old, and its just as magical as when I first saw it upon its initial release in 1972 when I was in grade school.  I can’t get over how young Ms. Minnelli is, and Marisa  Berenson is a pure vision of fragile loveliness.  The films associate producer Harold Nebenzal told a bunch of amazing stories before the screening that I had never heard before.  Can you imagine gossip that the Vagimule doll doesn’t know about concerning a Hollywood musical film?
Also saw the odd documentary Naked Opera featuring a terminally ill middle aged status queen obsessed with Mozart’s Don Giovanni and an ungainly pumpkin in the form of French blue movie ingenue Jourdain Foxx.  I don’t really know what to say about this bad looking digital concoction or why I went to see it other then liking the title.
The opening of the 8th Forum Expanded at Kino Arsenal was very Fidel Castro porn translation as provided by Daniel Haji Henderson using his best Virginia O’Brian deadpan voiceover to the wonderful Cuban docu For the First Time(Por Primera Vez) where a Guantanamo Bay Village of peasants get their first taste of cinema, from Charlie Chaplin in Modern Times.
Everyone  in Kino I was in a whimsical mood, led by a relaxed and sparkling Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus doing a marvelous job as moderator and being very playful with the crowd along with host Harum Farocki with able assist from Uli Ziemons, Angela Melitopoulos, Nanna Heidenreich, the first family of German Arthouse Cinema La Gregors, Constanza Ruhm and projectionist Anselm at the giant editing machine.
The next program that was part of Living Archive restored digitalization featured the discovery by Goldsmith scholar Nicole Wolf that Deepa Dhanraj’s 1986 documentary  film What Happened to this City? That she had been trying to find was hiding in plain site at the Arsenal’s archive all along.  Hollywood actor Tim Robbins taking time out from his jury duties was one of the notables in the crowd along with the delightful wife of Harum Farocki, Antje.
Saw the wonderous Robert Siodmak film made in France in 1938 Mollenard which isn’t dated in the least, but actually touches on some themes that are quite current.
Was so happy I got to see Richard Foreman film Once Every Day at HAU 1 that was part of Forum Expanded.  The film features a young lanky Jewish man of such inescapable beauty and presence that I wanted to see more of him on the screen.  Being the HavaNagila queen that I am my lust couldn’t be satisfied.  This young man looked like a Jewish Anthony Perkins circa 1960 when he starred in the film Tall Story with Jane Fonda where he plays an unlikely basketball player.
It was my first time at HAU under the new artistic director.  The brightly lit décor is horrible.  Even someone in radiant youth would look flat and washed out with the lighting employed in the lobby and bar areas.  The new furniture is also horrid.  Everyone I talked to was complaining about it, and told me its even worse at the WAU café.
Didn’t get to see the end of the movie as I promised my friend I would see his movie that was screening as part of Panorama section.  Richard Foreman was supposed to be in Berlin for his screening at HAU I  but his plane was cancelled because of an east coast blizzard.
A sexy Korean friend of mine worked on the movie Behind the Camera by director E J-Yong where he supposedly directs a feature film via Skype.  The best part of the movie was the older Korean actress who reminds me of what Margaret Cho will be like in 25 odd years.  I really liked the opening short Jury by elderly first time director Kim Dong Ho.
This morning I rushed out of the house to meet Daniel Hendrickson the Jewish Muslim at this new Turkish boite on Potsdamer Strasse at Kleistpark.  The food and atmosphere is quite charming but we had to scarf the food down to make it to the Forum Expanded panel discussion at this museum next to the Kulture Forum.  Film historian Marc Siegel was the moderator along with gorgeous German/Bolivian curator Max Jorge Hinderer Cruz and artist/filmmaker Nelville d’Almeida, Thomas Valentin and Cesar Oiticica the nephew of Helio Oiticica whose film about his legendary uncle is the cornerstone of the Forum this year.  So much gleamed from the panel discussion touching on Quasi Cinema, Tropicalia, Experiments in Cosmococa and Walking Delirium.  I beg you to go and see the documentary by Cesar.  You won’t regret it.
Tonight is the big installation event at the Liquidrom(Natural Hot Spring Spa) which is another must see happening of Forum Expanded and will definitely be the talk of the festival.  There are some surprises that I won’t divulge here you just have to see it for yourself.  Going to take a disco nap so i don't look like the walking dead later tonight at the Liquidrom----ta!

PRINZIP DER LUST

In L. Frank Baum´s The Road to Oz the fourth book in the famous series from the turn of the last century, our heroine Dorothy Gale of Kansas is walking down a lonely yet familiar country road when suddenly the path traveled becomes blurred.  A girl of 11 years is not prone to Alzheimer’s disease, so its quite apparent early in the 1905 novel that Dorothy´s drift is caused by fairies.
I came upon the same realization upon exiting the U6 with my handsome companion Daniel Hendrickson the Jewish Muslim. Forces beyond our control illuminated our Road to Oz leading us to the domed Emerald City and gasps of awe.
A trillion kudos to the brilliant Empress of Fairyland Stefanie Schulte Strathaus and her Forum Expanded Waves & Particles site specific location in the sumptuous form of theSilent (Soylent)Green Kulturequartier which was formerly a Prussian Krematorium.  Ms. Stefanie and her top knotch team that includes the radiant Nanna Heidenreich, lovegod Uli Ziemons and Bettina Steinbrügge looking like a stately Dame Judith Anderson show all the other curators in Europe how you properly create an event.
Spirits great and small came calling once they were properly invoked.  Lying on my back enjoying Canst Thou Draw Out Leviathan with a Hook by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Verena Paravel a mischievious poltergeist started sniffing at my privates.  I was content to be flirted with by the spirits as a lot of the art crowd on the premises with their icky gadgets and smart phones I found less then less then attractive.
Seen inhabiting every inch of this dream space:  Gorgeous Dorothea Wenner, Turkish/Kurdish beauty Nazli Kalerci and her hot Greek beau Yourgos the Byzantine Ottoman,Michel Belague, Wilhelm Hein & Annette Frick,  Andrew Horn, Eunice Martin, Assaf Hochman, Little Alex of Macedonia ,Olga Damnitz, Senol Senturk, and Richard & Salome Gersch.

Just received this note from the wonderful kids of the Kotti Shop:
Herzliche Einladung zur Ausstellungseröffnung: The Mirror – Say it Loud.

That Jewish Muslim Daniel Henrickson and his boyfriend Pierro Bellomo came to the rescue of the Vagimule Doll yet once again helping her with household concerns as she prepares her Cheese Endique Trifecta for the Berlinale visit of The Love Camel.  Thank god for Daniel and Pierro.  Afterwards we went to the Indian restaurant Moghul on Akazien Strasse where there is this little bubble butt boy who has to be the saddest waiter in Berlin.  The food at this boite is very tasty and they have hired another dimunitive waiter, who seems to have a brighter outlook on life.
Went to Haus de Kulturen de Welt to see Janez Jansaś new film My Name is Janez Jansa which makes its Berlin premiere as part of the TransMedial Festival.  Janez had shown me an earlier version, but this one is much better and features a dynamic performance from my old LA pal Hector Martinez and a closing aria by intermedia soprano Julianna Snapper.  The film is a clever meditation on the name game, and also resolves around three multi media artists from Slovenia who all changed their name legally to that of the right wing Prime Minister of their country.  Was hanging out with Mr. Jansa and his vibrant star of the film who works as a television presenter, but also got a chance to hang with Judy LaBruce producer Jurgen Bruning and the British art group Plan B.  Had to rush across town to see a screening of the film Monarch's Men by Jan Peter Hammer at the NGBK gallery.  The film features Sarita Choudury, Felix Ensslin and CHEAP's very own Daniel Hendrickson, but the projector was kaput.  Just my Lord Love a Duck luck.

DAS MERKWÜRDIGE KÄTZCHEN

It seems like the gorgeous Chancellor of Germany Ms. Angela Merkel is having a bit of trouble once again with her collegues who love plagerising their doctoral thesis.  This time it’s the Education Minister Annette Scharan.  Last time it was Karl-Theodor Zu Guttenberg.  Just saying . . .

Hans Massaquoi just died at the age of 87.  He was the Afro German former editor with Ebony and Jet Magazine who grew up as a child in Nazi Germany and even wrote a book about his experiences in the well regarded tome Destined to Witness-Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany.  His mother was a white German Nurse and his father a diplomats son from Liberia.

Who on earth is fuglier then British Prime Minister David Cameron?  I swear he looks like a giant old baby.

The book I can’t seem to put down is Going Clear-Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief by Lawrence Wright.  I am obsessed with Scientology and believe in the religion whole heartedly.  As a teenage punk rocker roaming the streets of Hollywood I had major crushes on the Scientology grunts in their uniforms chainsmoking as they walked the Blvd, and I’ve always thought that the church founder L. Ron Hubbard was really hot.  I wish people would stop picking on the church they are just trying to make a $buck like everyone else in tired LaLa Land, they are just a little bit more aggressive with it.

This note just came in from Davide Grassi aka Janez Jansa. "My Name Is Janez

Janša" at transmediale.

It will be this Saturday at noon at HKW in the room k1.

Hope to see you there!

 many-many hugs,

The perfect man!

VAGINETICS

Rising Stars, Falling Stars-We Must Have Music at Arsenal Inst. für film und video kunst was packed to the high rafters last night.  I guess Jim Jarmusch has a lot of fans here in Berlina because his first film Permanent Vacation from 1980 really brought the kidz out of the woodworks.  The films star Chris Parker is very adoreable with his whiny little voice. My former Afro Sister Maria Duval is also featured in the film.  Maria wasn´t a regular Afro Sister but did perform with me several times back in the mid 1980s when she was working at Cowboys & Poodles on Melrose Avenue where she designed some vintage repro dresses.  Back in the mid 1980s Ms. Duval was also touring with the road company of Women Behind Bars where she had been an original cast member along with Divine.  Maria who is half French and Puerto Rican was a very talented and gorgeous actress.  When I knew her she had a bit of a drug problem, but was an overall hardworking good time Sally.  Whatever happened to Chris Parker who played the lead in Permanent Vacation?  I think he was for a time in Levi Dexter´s rock-a-billy band Levi and the Rockats.  Another kid from that period who had a huge penis was Snuffy Smit.  Whatever happened to him?

Seen shmoozing during the wine reception after the screening:  film historian Marc Siegel and his beautiful lady love the director/intermedia actress Susanne Sachße, former prima ballerina Beatrice "Trixie" Cordua with artists and galpals Yam and Viola, British ginger junior pop star Alexander Geist with posse, Manuel Schubert of FilmHighlights Magazine who has just moved from Potsdam to Schöneberg and is my closest neighbor, Jochen Werner, curator with Berlin´s Porn Film Festival, cute careerist Israeli filmmaker Lior Shamriz, Felix Knoke of the band Tenderloin who also writes for Der Spiegel OnLine, Markus Ruff of Living Archive Project, Berlin legend Zazie de Paris, Daniel Hendrickson the Jewish Muslim, Little Alex of Macedonia who did Ms. Davis´hair and make-up and styled the great lady as a suffragette, Greek art shtar and curator Angela Melitoupolous, juicy Richard Birkett of NYC´s Artist Space with Bhaskar Sunkara of Jacobin Magazine and the wonderful Mathei Bellu who is always lurking on the fringes of artistic happenings with culture worker Sebastian Bodirsky,  Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus with her Forum Expanded Crew of Nanna Heidenreich who gave Ms. Davis a gorgeous silk scarf and a fluffy pink bathrobe and Uli Ziemons.  Forum Expanded opens Feb 6th at the site specific location of a Crematorium in Wedding and Feb 12th there is special event at the Liquidrom at Möckernstraße 10.

Received some sad news from Los Angeles that James Stone died this week after a long battle with bladder cancer.  James who I nicknamed "Frankenstone" during his club kingpin heyday with Sin-A-Matic and the Fetisch Ball.   I had known James since he was a trendy teenager in the early 1980s from the San Gabriel Valley middle class suburb  of Arcadia.
My old colleague from the LA Weekly Lina Lecaro wrote a very nice obit for him that you can find easily online. When I first met  James Stone he was going under the name of Jimmy Smits and was straight with a girlfriend.  Of course that didn´t last very long once he got turned out by the LA underground music and art scene.  As a teen he was a hard worker sometimes holding down three jobs at one time, and he had a good business sense which came inhandy when he took over the reigns of Club Fuck that his then lover Miguel Berenstein and Cliff Diller founded in Silverake at a Latin Bar on Sunset Blvd that use to be the infamous Black Cat Pub in the 1960s which started the modern gay rights movement several years before Stonewall with riots from west coast drag queens.
Club Fuck was one of LA´s most notorious nightclub´s --- Cliff & Miguel were the masterminds behind it.  Cliff and I were quite close as we were two demented queens.  Cliff and Ron Athey who was an original member of the First Family of Fuck were best girlfriends.  Both Cliff and Miguel died  of Mrs. AIDS in the 1990s.
I had a crush on Jimmy back in the mid 1980s when he was going out with Jeff Gardner aka Buzz.  I used both of them in a fashon show at the old Lhasa Club on Hudson and Santa Monica Blvd below photographer  Herb Ritt´s famous Hollywood studio.  Jimmy and Abel Villareal had also helped me with my home art gallery HAG in the later 1980s and he was a regular at HAG openings and my monthly club event Cafe HAG at Cafe Kafka a Slovakian Restaurant in Hollywood.

Jimmy was very sweet and  muscular who later had a series of celebrated hunky black lovers that included strapping GoGo boy Kelvin, who worked with me at  UCLA´s Placement & Career Planning Center, also a former Olympic ice skater who skated for either the IceCapedes or Holiday on Ice and had one of the most bubbly rear ends I have ever seen.  The last lover that I saw Jimmy with regularly was a law student and a true sex champion who went by the name of Huggy Bear.

In later years we had a bit of a falling out----dragqueens are unforgiving when feeling slighted, add to that my Mexican heritage of grudge holding and well you get the picture . . . but I´d like to remember Jimmy Smits/James Stone when he was young and eager beaver to be part of a burgeoning underground scene.

WOULD YOU?

That fugly Quentin Tarantino didnt invite me to any screenings of his new film Django Unchained or send me a screener so i had to do the unthinkable and go and actually pay money to see the flicker.
I waited till Tuesday when its half price matinee as I hate paying to see stupid Hollywood movies.  I remember when Mr. Tarantino was going out with comedienne Margaret Cho.  Margaret has weird taste in men.  I couldn´t imagine performing fellatio on Mr. Tarantino.  Yuck!
His film is actually quite entertaining---the first 40 minutes  or so, but then it kind of goes on way too long. I had to go to the bathroom twice during the screening.  The film has been criticized for its violence, but I found that the violence was very cartoony like Wyle E. Coyote with gallons of orange/red fake blood spurting about.  Great seeing the original Django Mr. Franco Nero who is still quite sexxxxy.  The best part of the film was the cameos by  Russ & Amber Tamblyn, Robert Carradine, Michael Parks, Tom Wopat, James Russo, James Remar, Don Stroud, Don Johnson, Ted Neely(Jesus Christ Superstar)  and my good friend from Los Angeles the talented actor Dennis Christopher(Breaking Away,Chariots of Fire).

Please check out my zany radio interview with the wonderful Manuel Schubert of Filmhighlights Magazine. Click link below:

The Berlinale is just a step away.  One of the highlights for Forum Expanded is the return of Isabella Rosellini with a pre-qual to her Green Porno shorts.  Lots of other surprises but I won´t reveal them here you just have to wait.

John Cameron Mitchell is coming to the Berlinale and bringing a bit of New York Greenwich Village with him with his Mattachine Dance Party on Feb 14th.

Every week we will work with a specific theme or assignment leading to a piece of written material. We will experiment with various types of writing while learning about rhythm, tone and the power of what we write about. During the workshop we will run a series of simple and practical writing exercises to help develop personal style and voice in the creation of powerful texts from things we observe, experience or imagine. We will also write collectively, using cut-and-paste techniques.

This workshop wants to offer a safe space to write while learning how to give and take useful feedback. It doesn't matter if you already have a specific project you are working on, or if you just want to come and develop fragmented ideas. This will be 8 weeks of hard work mutating into a fun and experimental choreography of words.

At the end of the workshop we will produce a printed anthology of the texts written during this time in collaboration with Copyroboter, the Kotti-Shop's print workshop.

"It is the experience of writing that matters. I am driven to write, compelled by a constant longing to choreograph, to bring words together in patterns and configurations that move the spirit. As a writer, I seek that moment of ecstasy when I am dancing with words".

bell hooks in Remembered Rapture: Dancing with Words.

DAS DESASTER NIMMT KEIN ENDE

As most of you know I don´t have a computer anymore so my blog posts are going to be somewhat irregular.  The internet cafe closest to my flat doesn´t  keep their machines in such good running order so cutting and pasting is sometimes quite difficult so please be patient with me when posting items sent to me from a third party.

Couldn´t recopy and post the release sent to me so I am paraphrasing a bit, and I also missed the deadline for the opening but want to tell those of you who will be in New York to go see my former student Jonathan Berger´s brilliant show "On Creating Reality, By Andy Kaufman" which runs from Jan 12 to Feb 16th at Maccarone Inc. Gallery 630 Greenwich Street New York, New York 10014.  The show will feature an ever changing array of live guests from Kaufman´s life so you need to visit the show often.

GEISTESWISSENSCHAFTLER UND TECHNIK

Had a lovely birthday breaky with the handsomest man in all of Europa Uli Ziemons and his
beautiful girlfriend Juliane. They are Berlins hottest young power couple. Joining us at
East London-God Save Brit Food was writer Travis Jeppeson just back from a long visit in the
States with his patrician parents. Travis was also in Los Angeles taking meetings with film
directors who want to bring his novel Wolf at the Door to the silver screen. Travis also has
a new book coming out on Semio Texte.
After breaky I rushed across town to Susanne Sachße's compound to borrow some filmic
reading material for an essay I am writing for another art catalogue. Susanne prepared a
scrumpteous feast for bruncheon which included minced meats stuffed in savoy cabbage, quayle beans and bacon bits, sun dried tomatoes, dill, onion, parsely, sweat potato mousse nestled
in fresh herbs & saffron butter. This was all complimented with a rote begge-apple feta
salad. Beyond lecher smecher!!!! Joining us for luncheon and gossip session was film
historian Marc Siegel.
Later in the evening i ran into Susanne and Marc again at Daniel Hendrickson's little
birthday soiree at his Neu Kölln manner where i got to hear all about what is planned for
the Berlinale's Forum Expanded from Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus. I am not
going to give anything away but I will say that one should expect the unexpectedly sublime
this year. Enjoying Champagne lather and snacks Nanna Heidenreich, DJane Olga Damnitz,
Angela Anderson who constructs most of the installations for Forum Expanded, set designer
Senol Senturk, and ItaloGerman fashion guru Piero Bellomo.

FRAUEN BONUS

Someone just asked me if i had seen the Wachowski´s film Cloud Atlas. I saw it at a screening ages ago but I forgot to write my comments about it. As most of you know I have a history with Ms. Lana Wachowski who use to be Larry Wachowski when she was a man. Larry was a top client of my dominatrix alter ego Mistress Veronika V’Interest way back in the 1990s. I use to work for the West Coast House of Domination run by the highly skilled and talented German Dom Mistress Ilsa Strix. To make a long story short Mistress Ilsa divorced her F2M husband Jake, who is now known as Buck Angel, the legendary pornkingpin and “Man with a Pussy” and took up with film director Larry Wachowski helping Mr. Wachowski discover that he was a lesbian woman trapped in the body of a nerdy film director.

Cloud Atlas is a very ambitious undertaking and sometimes works quite well in its humorous section involving Jim Broadbent and some other elderly thespians. I am not a fan of Tom Hanks and no matter the amount of prosthetic make-up applied he always looks like Tom Hanks. Having caucasion actors made up to look Asian was a huge mistake and is very distracting. In all the futuristic scenes were the least convincing, but I must say I liked this version of the future better then anything behind the dorky universe of The Matrix franchise.

Went to the birthday celebration of Uli Ziemons of Forum Expanded at a cute little bar in Kreuzberg called Trödler at 123 Dresdener Strasse. Very cute cozy evening with the ultra handsome Mr. Ziemons who is known as one of the best looking men in all of Europa. Uli was in fine form with his lovely girlfriend Juliana, junior curator Miss Nadja Talmi of Haus of World Cultures who just came back from a 2 month holiday in Indonesia with her beau. Canadian Mark Pennock was also on hand having just come back to Berlin from his Canuckian homelands. I had an early morning meeting so I had to leave the festivities before things got crowded and the room full of cigarette smoke.

MORE VAGINAL LESS DAVIS

Had a phun breakfast at East London-God Bless Brit Food on the Mehringdamn Corridor with my lesben girlfriend Anna Mülter the other morn.  This place is my favourite eatery in Berlin at the moment and I highly recommend it if you are visiting.
In the evening I caught up with Anna again at Susanne Sachsse´s yearly holiday gathering at her spacious compound in the East.  Frau Sachsse is the most amazing party hostess in the world and one extroidinaire gourmand cook, and to be invited to her famous table is to enter a rarefied world of delight.  She prepared quite a feast this year and i wolfed down with gusto three large plates.  Film historian Marc Siegel was also on hand being charming with his Catskills sense of humour.  It was lovely seeing the creme de la creme of Berlin society including sexy and stylish Hannah Hurtzig of Mobile Academy, the sophisticated and stately curator Dorothee Wenner with her dapper escort Mickey, Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus who will spend the Silvester at an exclusive Spa at the Baltic Sea recovering from Berlinale Forum Expanded madness.  Miss Stefanie is the hardest working woman in Europe so she deserves a nice end of year treat.  Stefanie is always taking good care of her Vagimule doll, and gave me a wonderful large designer suitcase that is perfect for all my big trips for 2013 which includes location scouting for a commission performance piece in China.
Also seen at this most sublime of holiday festivities: Booty gal Nanna Heidenreich(who brought some divine deserts to the party) and DJane Olga Damnitz, "It Girl" Katrin Dodd, the sensational video artist Phil Collins aka Re(Phil) with his Serbian lover Sinisha, stage designers Neboja & Senol Senturk with pretty girlfriend Ruta, muscular Norweigan stage director Vegard Venge with stage designer and costumer Ida Müller, dreamy scholar Matthias Haase who is now teaching in Leipzig after years in Basel,Muslim warrior Daniel Hendrickson with his smoking hot Italian husband Piero Bellomo, Arab/German actor Constantine Achmed Bürger with casting agent Britt Beyer, international art shtar Yael Bartana with artist girlfriend Saskia Wendend, Susanne´s adoreable twins Richard & Salome Gersh and Richard´s sweet actress girlfriend Vicki, Guillaume Henry of the House of Carven with his beau Olivier Rousteing of Balmain who brought along Antonio Berardi, Erdem Moralioglu and French journalist Romain Dauriac who is rumoured to be Vaginal Davis´new lover but don´t believe everything you read.
Tim Blue of CHEAP kollective who is now living in his hometown of Portland, Oregon called to chit chat and give everyone holiday greetings. It was wonderful hearing from the old skallywag who sounds like he is in good spirits back in the old US of A---- KKK.

ESSIG REINIGER

The wonderful young artist Katja von Hellsdorf of the art/music group LeiseyLento came by the Cheese Endique Trifecta in the Rote Insel to make platinum sketches of the Vagimule doll for a new art project. Miss Katja who was one of my Weissensee Art Akademy students years ago is a very prolific artiste. We had a right girlish time together and she brought offering to la diva of non-alcoholic Champagne, a signed special edition, beauty products and cosmetics. My glorious children know how to take proper care of me. Afterwards we had a lively luncheon at the Vietnamese boite on Akazien Strasse Pho-viet.
Later in the evening I whisked off to KreuzKölln—Sonnen Allee to be exact, where I was invited to a Greek passive feast of ages by my sweet bubble butt and lovesexy´line Little Alex of Macedonia. Alex was with his handsome Israeli modern dancer lover Assaf Hochman, who I haven´t seen in months as he has been on tour throught Europe. Herr Hochman has one of the humpiest bodies in Berlin, and is the perfect piece of eyecandy besides being a very genuine young man. Alex & Assaf  are two of my all-time favourite children in Deutschland.

After supper Alex screened a delightful shortfilm he made at his parents summer estate in Greece featuring my gorgeous Los Ang daughter, the junior art shtar ZacKary Drucker. Little Alex is a top film student here in Berlin who makes his professors proud as he lives and breathes the cinema..  He  pops out a myriad of film projects that look slick and professional thanks to his topnotch director of photography Tim Schenkl and solid work habits.  I hope he will start concentrating on making  more playful short subjects like the one with ZacKary that are way under five minutes.  I´d love to see him break his hommage pattern and develop his own style and voice as he has a great eye for detail and surface.

During dessert and coffee Little Alex showed another short film, this one a highly ambitious take on Luis Bunuel´s Simon in the Desert starring Uli Ziemons, the handsome young associate curator with the Berlinale´s Forum Expanded. Uli is marvellous in this flicker and photographs beautifully looking like Paramount Pictures silent screen male ingénue Richard Arlen at times.

Wouldn´t it be a hoot if Little Alex skipped the arty farty and went directly to the small screen.  He´d be perfect as a dancing coach for the American spectacular Dancing with the Stars. With a face of a demi-god, his mad ballroom dancing champion skillz, and a tight tiny body complete with plump endowment he´d score a number one hit swivelling those saucy hips on a glossy TV dance floor.

EMBALMING THE QUEEN

Had a lovely pre Christmas Judy Garland Sunday at Arsenal Inst für film und video kunst watching the restored version of A Star is Born 1954 directed by faggots faggot George Cukor starring La Judy, James Mason, Jack Carson, and a sexy/dorky Tom Noonan. This is the second year of spending the holidays ala Garlandishral. We had a nice little group with us that included the Arsenal´s beautiful Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, gorgeous Susanne Sachsse leader of CHEAP kollective, humpy film historian Marc Siegel, Skandinavian Muslim jihadist Daniel Hendrickson with his juicy Italian lover Piero Bellomo. Also spotted in the audience a lot of visiting Americans on parade and luscious curator Dorothea Wenner. After the film Daniel and I were treated to a comfy taxi ride by Frau Schulte Strathaus to the Barbi Deinhoff to attend the birthday celebration of artist Angela Melitopolous and bbooks accolade Micho. Everyone at the Deinhoff was in good holiday cheer and in a festive mood. Saw bootysexy Nanna Heidenreich, DJane Olga Damnitz, Senol Senturk with his hot girlfriend Ruth,  the divine Allessio, Katja of bbooks, the sweet JewFro´d radio hostess from that station that is located inside the Pregnant Oyester aka Haus of World Cultures and many others too numerous to mention. Didn´t stay long as I couldn´t handle the cigarette smoke.

Christmas Eve was Pierro Bellomos annual feast of the Magi which was served in several radiant courses that included a Ravioli with porcini mushroom starter, SuSu Salmon entre, brussel sprouts galeon and gratin dauphinois with pomegranite seedlings. For desert a sparkling huckabee gallette unformed Apple WhyPie with Limon slices and whipped vaginal creme. Gastro delecti!!!! This year´s feast was an intimate gathering consisting of the Vagimule Doll in all her glory, Pierro, Daniel “Haji” Hendrickson and Tante Ingo the famous therapist to the gay shtars of Berlin.  Pierro loves Christmas and delights in giving his favorite womanly doll a truckload of designer gifts including beauty products, make-up, winter warm clothing that included some 20 pairs of cashmere socks as I am always running out of socks.  Where do they disapear to?
After a week or so of freezing temperatures and snow, its almost balmy outside and in Bavaria its even warmer.  Chock it up to global warming.

Berlin during the holidays is pretty quiet as most German go back home to wherever they originally came from to be with MaMa and PaPa, and all the stores including the supermarkets are shut down solid which can be a bit of a drag. On Dec 28th they start selling fireworks so the city will begin to start sounding like a warzone with the cherry bombs and other very loud unruly firecrackers and fireworks which I simply hate. Why can´t people just watch Judy Garland movies to celebrate Christmas and New Year´s and forgo parties and loudness, eh?

ZEIT DER UNSCHULD

Had a delightful dinner with Daniel Hendrickson, the Skandinavian Muslim at a 24hour Kufta joint on Kott Busser Damn where we were served by a cocky pud of a waiter giving us big dique arrogance in spaids. Then it was off to Arsenal Inst für film und video kunst to see a program of films by legends legend and experimental feminist film godessa Sheila McLaughlin. Ms. McLaughlin was looking lovely and relaxed as she spoke before screening her short subject Inside Out 1978 with its major Ms. gorgeously stark patina. My favorite segment of the film features a Linda Blair-- Sarah: Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic look-a-like caught in a perspiration loop.

The two narrative feature films She Must Be Seeing Things 1987 and Committed 1980-84 co-directed by Lynn Tillman where Ms. McLaughlin portrays the rebellious film startlet of 1930s Hollywood Frances Farmer are notable for their complete aesthetic rejection of typical narrative flow & ebb and the favouring of dark, moody and lingering set pieces. Like her sister in the cloth Lizzie Borden, I love how Ms. McLaughlin cares not a tinker´s damn for polished acting skillz.

Wanted to stay for the Q&A with Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus & Heinz Emigholz, but I had to rush off to Kreuzberg to see my Malmö Art Akademy student´s performance with her art/music project Easter. Seen in the audience at the McLaughlin Kino 1 event: lovesexy composer and klavier dreamgirl Eunice Martin, handsome Markus Ruff of Living Archive Project, careerist Israeli filmmaker and bootypie Lior Shamriz, video artist Isabel Spengler and the director of the Klaus Nomi documentary The Nomi Song Andrew Horn.

Arrived at Lucia on Oranienberg Strasse in time to see my former student Stine perform abstractly with her very beautiful beau as part of a record release party for their latest album. It was almost as if I was seeing a live musical Sheila McLaughlin film unfold before my thyroid eyes. A very transporting evening as the bands dark wave soundscapes and monotonous singing stylings are quite infectious with its repitition for emphasis. I am expecting great things from Ms. Stine and her Easter Parade on the rote gravure.

TAXIDERMIA TANTRUM

Went to the Kotti Shop at Adelberger Str 4 last night.  The place is the studio of my former Weissensee Art Akademy student Annette Knol.  Its located in the storefront of one of those block tower Turkish buildings from the 1980s at KottBusser Damn.  I had the hardest time locating the place which features occasional art events and performances.  The art/music group LeiseyLento featuring Katja von Hellsdorf (nee Maya) and Argentine Cristian Forte performed marvelously and kept the large audience in the intimate space deeply riveted to their alchemic soundscapes.  There were moments that transported me back to 1977 LA punk rock heyday and underground hangouts like The Hideaway on Traction Avenue even though LeiseyLento employ acoustic guitar, loops and feral saw.  At one point both Katja and Cristian seemed to channel former Cockette Fayette Hauser during her post punk incarnation in the band Interpol at The Brave Dog in Little Tokyo.  LeiseyLento singing “The City of My Dreams” harkened to Interpol´s ”The Girl Who Shot Andy Warhol”  Magnificent.

My mother Mary Magdelene DuPlantier barely made it to the new century.  She died June of 2000.  On New Year´s day 2000 when my mother was in relative good health she requested two very odd things from me.  She wanted me to get her some frog legs to eat, and to give her a beating from a switch made from a tree branch.
My mother never resorted to corporal punishment with me, though I deserved a good thrashing many times for my insolent behavior as a strong willed child.  She actually never raised her voice to anyone and barely spoke above a whisper, but when I was being naughty she would calmly tell me to go out into the back yard and bring back a tree branch to make into the dreaded switch. We would usually start carving it together and it would difuse the situation and the said punishing item would never be used.
Well on New Year´s day 2000 I went into my mother´s yard of her dingbat mid century apartment building in Hollywood that my sister Teresita also lived in and calmly started looking for an appropriate tree branch.  Out near the kidney shaped swimming pool were several young, humpy Latino men sunning themselves in the 70  degree plus winter weather.  The landlord of my mother´s apartment building became enamored with juicy Latino men after his wife died, and one of the men gladly helped me carve a switch using his Swiss Army knife.  It was very nice watching him work experiencing the flexing of his pectorals and rock hard solid abs. My sister Teresita being a fag hag was quite friendly with all the youthful Latino men in her building who didn´t seem to have jobs and were always out by the tiny pool.  I suspected that the elderly white landlord of the building was keeping all of these boys as his personal harem of able bodied concubines.  Of course thats just conjecture.
By the time I brought my mother the switch she had forgotten about the frog legs ---thank god because that would have meant quite a trek by bus into deepest darkest South Central Los Angeles to find the appropriate soul food establishment that carried this unique culinary dish.
***
I have a picture on my refrigerator of Surfer Mike, the beautiful blondine bubble butt drug dealer to the Silverlake 40.  Mike was one of those Silverlake characters who appeared out of nowere in the mid 90s, but was actually quite sweet,  intriguing and charming.  Surfer Mike was a good time Charlie with a sweet disposition and ran what I gather was quite a success operation as a narcotics kingpin mainly supplying drugs to the gays of Silverlake and Echo Park.  Being someone who knows nothing about drugs as my drug of choice has always been alcohol.  From the grapevine I heard that Mike was the overseer of the homos faction while Ms. Carrie French took care of the east Hollywood bohemian straights.  Of course this was all a longtime ago so who knows what its like in Silverlake and the Eastside now.
Mike owned several houses around the Sunset Junction. One time at Club Sucker we even shared a smooch, and his lips were soft and entrancing.  He told me that he only liked Middle Eastern or Armenian men and many times at my Sunday afternoon punk rock beerbust I would see him in the company  of such said men.  One time I went to the discount Tuesday evening at Midtown Spa the bathhouse that caters to Latino, Black and urban men and their admirers that is located off of skid row and Central Avenue in Downtown LA.  I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to see Surfer Mike come out of a room with a big strapping thugzilla jubas jubilee black man with his hair in cornrow braids dripping semen from his dinosauric member.  I followed the pair to the showers and Mike seemed punch drunk from his heavy bout of sexing from the black stallion.  After his negro paramour left him in the open shower to take in the wet sauna, I approached Mike and he was stunned by my presence and was trying to clumsily cover himself with a towel, but it was too late I could see it all in its golden fury, and Surfer Mike had a lovely muscular frame, tiny waist and a rather plump flaccid penis.  Like so many men of his generation he wore baggy clothing most of the time that camouflouged his body, but seeing him naked was a joy complete.  I didn’t want to embarrass him further so when he made the lame excuse that he was at the bathhouse only because his shower was broke I just accepted that and let him nervously go on his merry way.  He headed towards the locker room area on the second floor so I gathered he had his fill of sex partners and was going home.  About an hour later I was ready to leave and noticed Surfer Mike coming out of another room this time with a young magnificently handsome and well whung Latino man.

Don´t you just love it when I get all Proustian and start doing my version of rememberance of things past?

WENN DER KUCHEN SPRICHT,HABEN DIE KRÜMEL PAUSE
Because of my background having worked for the New Frontiers section of the Sundance Film Festival and at the Arsenal Inst für film und video kunst people say that i only like obscure movies or way out experimental films. That is far from true. The other day a friend visiting Berlin asked me to go with him to see the most mainstream of movies namely Skyfall the 007 film starring Daniel Craig and i loved that it was pure adreny escapism. It is hard for me to think of any James Bond other then Mr. Sean Connery, and a blondine Bond is a bit hard to swallowkin, but the rough faced Mr. Craig has a Napoleanic macha quality that really does something to me. He is one hot tiny pud. He must be really short in person to photograph so tiny. Could he be tinier then Lady Tom Cruise? Maybe.
The best part of the film was the geniustrata lovemaking scene between Craig and Javier Badem as a queeny villainess. Did i see Mr.Badem sneak a tweak of Mr. Craig´s pert bullet nips, or was that just my imagination?
The two exotic bond girls were also quite good, and I adore Dame Judy Dench who is quite a handsome woman.

Kathleen Hanna of Le Tigre and Kenny Mellman of Kiki & Herb fame and their new music project Julie Ruin have a CD that is available at T. Cooper readings and through McSweeny's book club.

"A collection of *mostly* original songs by *entirely* original
artists—all inspired by the book—is also being released. Limited
edition CD available through McSweeney’s Book Club and at author
events (CD info below)."

I sing lead on a nutters alternative version of their song „Girls Like Us“. I don´t know if they used my crazed additional lyrics which i added or not, but if you come across it check it out and tell me what you think.  Special shout out to Felix Knoke of Tenderloin who recorded my vocals at his home studio here in Berlin and sent it to Kenny in New york.

Finished reading the book After Claude by Iris Owen that Mark Morgan Perez gave me. It is a fun and zany read which i utterly adored.

Met with a cute young fan who took me to luncheon at Santa Marie, the Mexican boite in Kreuzberg. Hadn´t eaten there in ages and the bartender remembered me.  Don´t know if thats a good thing or not. Ordered their Guacamole with Chips and the Ensalada Pera with Shrimps---lecker smecker!!!! Afterwards we had coffee and Margarete kuchen at the Bierhimmel. Was waited on by a cute, young German boy with a tight muscular frame who was very accomodating to say the least.
