IL CATTIVO E IL BELLO
Jason El Norte came by to take Love Camel and i to dinner at El Compadre Restaurant on Sunset Blvd at Gardner in Hollywood. We ordered a fit load of food and washed it all down with a river of Margaritas.
Earlier in the day we went to Amoeba Records--i found a DVD copy of the 1954 Rosemary Clooney film Red Garters and soundtrack CDs to Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and Good News. Ran into that charming young man Channing Hansen whose son Aubrey is 16 years of age. Channing still looks like a teenager himself. Also bumped into Freddy Berkovitz of Video Ten and Dragazine fame. I took the Camel for rad smoothies at the Juice Bar on Hollywood Blvd & Ivar and we pranced down the boulevard so i could stockpile false eyelashes at Miss Ellen's Hollywood Wigs. Local celebrity sightings of Francine Dancer, the heterosexual Goddess Bunny, and tranny messtikal Karen Centerfold. Love Camel treated me to a screening of the British filmTamara Drewe which features the humpy UK actor Dominic Cooper--yumsville.
I also checked out some spaces for Moca's Artist Museum project which may bring me back to Los Ang in January. Sunday it was recovery from my performative lecture with a beautiful bruncheon date with the lovesexy German/Jewish/Argentine Jonathan Stofenmacher and his incredibly supersizzling Iranian artist friend Rashad Navidi. These two young men are so sweet, intelligent and vivacious that I am in a whirl spending the afternoon with them and their juicy uber muscular bodies.
Later in the evening Hector Martinez and his lover Ericla Pierce came by and picked us up to meet with Michele Mills and Billy to have dinner at The Apple Pan. A fine time was had by all. Miss "Meesh" had been working all day at her latest reality TV show, and Billy is taking over the editing on the new Matt Damon film The Adjustment Bureau. Meesh is so successful and generous treating me several times to hearty meals and loading me down with lots of yummy presents.
Saturday my performative lecture at Royce Hall was an SRO smash hit with so many luminaries in attendance: Sam Page, Barry Shilts, Douglas Gordon celebrating his birthday with Hilary Bean, Tommy Gear and Janet Klein, Marvina Jones, Gemma Aterton, Sam Rockwell, Rudy Bleu, Matt Johnstone, Marc Blucas, Sasha Fuentas with girlfriend and fellow Sukia bandmates Ross Harris & Craig Borrell,Duchess DeSade,Andrew Gould, Kimberly Kim of North Korea, John Fleck & posse who got there to late to be admitted, Jean Spinosa, Cory Marie Podielski, Jason El Norte, Ernest Hardy, Zachary Drucker, Marlou DeLuna, Susan Stryker, Hal Marinas, Karen Lofgren aka: Kara Hunger with sultry beau Chris, Kashiela Brooks, Craig Roose, David O. Russell & Co., Augusta Avallone aka: Penny Star Jr.,Buttons Sinclair, Jeffrey Hilbert & Frank Rodriguez, Danny Martinez, Glen Meadmore who beat me a magnificent face,Emi Fontana-West of Rome, Nacho Figueras, Jennifer the yoga gura,Daniel Merrriweather, Michele Mills, Michael Sera, Penn Badgley, Jennifer Doyle and Cesar Vega. The department took me to dinner at Appellation d'Origine Controlee on Third Street at Crescent Heights. The scrumpteous menu consisted of prosciutto di parma, local walnuts, soft herbs, heirloom tomatoes, feta, purslane, basil, salmon, potato-tomato gratin, tapenade, duck confit, black rice, figs, walnut hanger, grilled chicken, marinated peppers, rouille farro and black rice with pinenuts and currants, young broccoli, garlic and chili with desert of chocolate peanut butter brownie with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream, butterscotch pot de creme with fleur de sel and salted cashew cookies. Whew.
UCLA put me up at their Guest House, which doesn't look like much from the outside but its very nice and comfy on the inside. Love Camel arrived from San Francisco via train, taking a shuttle from Bakersfield to fraternity row where i met him and we walked across campus to the hotel giving dozens of hunky coeds the hairy eyeball. Dr. Doyle gave me a ride from Hector's house in Silverlake to UCLA on Thursday. We drove by Melrose Hill, my favorite historic neighborhood in LA and grabbed some lunch at The Farmers Market. Westwood Village is a ghost town with so many homeless people and vacant shops. I leave for Berlin tomorrow, and with my family tragedies I am feeling very unsettled.

WHEN THE MIDNIGHT CHOO-CHOO LEAVES FOR ALABAM
Dr. Jennifer Doyle picked me up at 11pm for a late night supper at the new LA hotspot Grown-- at Dining Room M -1263 West Temple Street in Historic Filipino Town. This underground eatery is the latest G-Love project of the divine Wu Tsang of Club Wildness at the Silver Platter. Wu and her stylish co-curator Ashland of the reformation hairycopter doo have been presenting this event since the spring, and its the talk of Los Ang and beyond.
Wu reigns as the installation chef with assist by sous Math Bass, and the festivities happen on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 10pm or so with no cover before 2am, but the juiceka certainly continues to flow way into the wee crows nest hours.
Wu spent three weeks editing in a cave until she perfected her minimalist comfort menu which consisted of
Pork sliders, with pickled green tomatoes, spicy fried green beans with black sesame mayo, Nikujaga Japanese Beef Stew with Sake, tarragon fingerlings, and the Texas Donut which is a hand crafted and rolled fresh corn dainty made with home lovesexy strawberry-sherry-basil ice cream on top. It was all delicious and didn't make me feel bloated which usually happens when i eat this late. The space is magical with a wrap-around sushi barlinga and peterkin plushy couches that were perfect for someone of settled age like me. The crowd was filled with cute Donny Darko-esque youthquakers, and i loved the DJane who was playing music before the floor show by Sonji Kimmons, a lounge pianist from Silverlake's The Other Side who sounds like a cross between Nancy Wilson and Carmen McCrea. The music after the performance was at too high decibel levels to comfortably hold conversation so i had to flee, but i love the rebellious spirit of the place.
Seen cavorting: handsome dagger art director and production designer Candy just back from a project in the Amazon with Daniela Sea of the L-Word & posse, My Barbarians cute couple Alex Segade & Malik Gaines with statuesque Euro staro Vincente Colomar of the Spanish version of The Office, soap opera idol Brandon Barash(General Hospital) Keir Gilchrist(Its Kind of a Funny Story) with beau Aaron Johnson(Nowhere Boy) fey ginger beauty boy Kevin McGarry and gorgeous eastside based art shtar Zachary Drucker.

Ms Davis,
I just read your Oct 3rd entry. More memories from the names you speak of!
Loren Quintana, Marilyn Welch, and Moises Ruiz I remember fondly from years ago, they all worked here at MOCA. All three are sooo sweet. Marilyn and Moises had a lovely baby girl named Ava last time I saw them. Moises was also drummer for a band called Slorider at the time. And Loren! I am glad he's still out and about in the area. Wow. How NICE! What a small world. And I also read your mention of KXLU.
I attended Loyola Marymount University and graduated in 86. Honestly, my fondest memories of that place have to do with the radio station KXLU which is located on campus.
I am such not a Catholic school girl, hell I ain't even Catholic at all, so seeing nuns and priests as part of the teaching staff was really a cheerful amusement for me most times. KXLU used to sponsor all kinds of on campus live band shows all the time. In fact, one day a week, they earmarked a one hour time in the middle of the day when there were no classes scheduled by the teachers and there were no meetings of student groups either, just so they could schedule a different band to play during that time each week or so.
That was how I got to see the great Fibonaccis, The Minutemen, Hiroshima, and this other band I loooved at the time whose lead singer was called Limey Dave, and their big local hit was "Every Day's A Holiday". Alas I cant rember the bands name at all. Probably cause the day they played, this guy I had a major crush on was sitting right next to me at the show.
There was some brouhaha the day The Minutemen did their AWESOME show. Way behind across from the courtyard area where the bands played in daytime, there was a big church chapel, and some girl was getting married that day. You could see her standing way off back there standing in front of the church, with her hands on her hips all man. Damn The Minutemen were sooo good.
The Untouchables did a few shows in the evening in another building during those years too.
Unfortunately, the last semester I was there, LMU outlawed, at the decree of the big dean/priest dude in charge at the time, that there would be NO more noontime free music concerts. I was so bummed, and I'm so glad and lucky I got to enjoy them while I was there.
By the way, Lisa Mark here at MOCA said you are the nicest person ever ever, and she and her husband have known you for awhile. What a small world! Which is amazing in such a big city like Los Angeles.
Rock on, bow down, Great V Davis!!
Breathe In The Love, Breathe Out The Jive.

PRIVATE TARGETED SPEECH
Monday evening taken to dinner at Little Dom's on Hillhurst in Los Feliz Village by Lisa Mark and Jeffrey Deitch of MoCa. Lisa's handsome husband Channing Hansen, the son of legendary Andy Warhol underground superstar Bibbe Hansen, and younger brother to Beck was our male escort and chauffeur. Lisa and i ordered the shaved fennel & Parmesan salad, the butternut squash risoto with grilled shrimp and a pound the pud cake with warm honey drizzle---sounds dirty to me. Joining us a little later as a special guest star was art star Ryan Trecartin who has a show up at MoCa's Blue Whale Gallery in WeHo. MoCa is interested in me curating a program as part of their Artist Museum exhibit. So who knows perhaps I will be coming back to Los Angeles in January. We had a nice time hooting & hollering with lots of scandalous art world gossip thrown in for good measure. I'll have to give you the full report later as i have limited time to write this blogina.
Tuesday i had lunch at Mama's Hot Tamale Cafe in Westlake(MacArthurPark) with my poor older sister Teresa Ray Williams. She works for Los Angeles Counties Section Eight Office on Wilshire Blvd near Alvarado in the Social Security Building. My sister is a hoarder. Her dingbat flat in Hollywood is cute with a kidney shaped pool, but its filled with junk. Hanging with my sister and hearing about my families woes put me in a depressive funk. Before lunch with Teresa I ran into Christine Pelisek, one of my colleguen from the LA Weekly. Christine now works for Tina Brown's The Daily Beast. She is hot on the trail to solve the Jon Benet Ramsey mystery, and also has an agent and book deal for a tome about the recent Grim Sleeper Murder Case that she broke for The Weekly. For those of you not in the know, The Daily Beast is owned by lavender mafiosa member Barry Diller, who is about to purchase Newsweek Magazine. WoWza!
Later in the evening i hung out with Bricktops Taxi Dancer Jason El Norte, who is now working in the business of fleish philanthropy. Sweet Jason took me to dinner at The Kitchen in Silverlake. I was hoping that one of the ladies who works there would be our waitress but we got the icky actor guy who i think is one of the owners. I don't care for this dude at all, but the food is so good at the kitchen, and thats what counts.
We then went to half price night at the Midtown Spa Sauna in skid row, and what a jolly hoot that place was. I was expecting to run into Surfer Mike, the humpy blondine drug dealer to the Silverlake 40 homophiles. Mike is a notorious dinge queen, but instead i saw some hot buttery latino and black thug papis and roughnecks---yummy! I couldn't get any of the thugzillas interested in me for sexalina, but one little Thai boy asked if he could give me a fullbody Thai message, and i said yes, and it was wonderful. Then Jason & I watched cable TV in the lounge area. Was fascinated by this documentary on a 13 year old paparazzi discovered by young actor Adrian Grenier. Jason wasn't interested in anyone at Midtowne Spa for sex, so we left and went to 99cent Special nite at Popeye's Fried Chicken in Hollywood. We got our order and ate it at the world famous Spotlight Pub on the Cahuenga Corridor at Selma, washing our meal down with vodka gimlets. My favorite Spotlight bartender Scottish Jerry wasn't there unfortunately. The bartender i can't stand that Jeffreyland Hilbert and i refer to as "the Screenwriter" was working the bar. He makes ok cocktails but is such a drip personality wise. I gather he hasn't cashed in on that multi million dollar screenplay he's been working on for years. Poor thing looks horrid, he hasn't aged well and the barkeep life is showing its wear and tear.
This morning Michael Lucid of The Pretty Things who works for World of Wonder took me to breakfast at Astro Family. We ran into Cesar Padilla, the dead stock clothiere. Michael Lucid is such a sweetie and very talented film editor and TV presenter. His Damiana Garcia persona is hysterical! I'm so happy he is prospering. What a great kid.
For lunch i reunited with one of my oldest, most talented pals Craig Roose aka: Billy Wisdom of Billy Wisdom and The HeShees aka Jacqueline Essex of the mod band Stupor aka: talk show hostess Summer Caprice. Craig took me to Little Tokyo for some Japanese food. Berlin doesn't have such great Japanese food establishments, so it felt so good to be someplace where i could pig out in high J-town style. Plus our Japanese waiter was cute, thick and humpy with a bubble butt and big rabbit feet.

LOVE FOR HYDIA
Yes Vaginal Davis Jr. is a hydia creature. hydia as in hideous. Christopher Isherwood in the 1980s called me a fascinating monster. I met Mr. Isherwood and his lover the artist Don Bachardy through Michael Reynolds and his partner Walter who lived next door to them in Aunt Monica(Santa Monica). Mr. Reynolds was a fan of my group The Afro Sisters.
Mr. Bachardy even created a portrait of me, where he captures quite perfectly my hideous nature.
Last night at Taix French Restaurant in Echo Park i had drinks with Andrew Gould, my former partner with Bricktops at the Parlour Club. It was lovely seeing him after almost 5 1/2 years. He looks very handsome and is now age 33. I have always been an anglophile, so British boys naturally catch my fancy.
My friend Hector Martinez says that Andrew Gould was the only young man to warm the ice cold heart of Vaginal Davis. I guess Hector was right.
Last night i was giddy. The Taix bar was having some awful comedy show. There is nothing worse then bad comedy. Even good comedy can be dreadful. We left the bar and got a bite to eat up the street at a little Mexican restaurant, then had a night cap at another joint across from the Mexican place. It was very gracious of Andrew to want to see me after how spiteful I had been to him. There is nothing more dangerous in this world like a black woman who feels scorned. But time heals all wounds and one can be softened by great age. Andrew and I started reconnecting through a simple gesture on his part of sending me poems via email. He would send me something by e.e. cummings and i would reply with a poem by Wallace Stevens and thus it went until last night when we made contact in the fleshy flesh. I love and adore Mr. Andrew Gould.
Earlier in the afternoon Dr. Jennifer Doyle had a bruncheon in my honor that was beyond divine. The food and drinks never stopped flowing. Dr. Doyle is an amazing cook and hostess, and I am so fortunate to have her in my life. She is so devoted to the doll. The guests she invited included video artist and scholar Ming Ma, photographer and independent curator Dino Dinco, art historian Robert Summers with sexy young Argentine companion Jonathan Stofenmacher in tow, Miss Glen Meadmore, Stella of Stray Pop, beautiful Kimberly Kim of North Korea who is the head mixocologist at The Eagle Bar in Silverlake. Ms. Kim use to be the Parlour's lead imbibement specialist who created the holiday drink i named Nigg Nog. Gorgeous Cory Marie Podielski, enchanting Jean Spinosa of Wigout, hunky Catalon artist Adria' Julia' with his charming super model girlfriend Delali, intermedia opera star Julianna Snapper with her sweet companion Paula Court, Sundance Film Festival's Shari Frilot with her patrician Iranian girlfriend Roya, Hector Martinez and lover Ericla Pierce, Kateri Butler with entourage that included New York photog Tony Phillips and LA's high tech marketing maven Leslie Polloch, noted sculptress Ana Sew Hoy with hot hubby Giles Miller holding 8 week old Gerber Baby Lee, who is the most adorable infant i have seen in a coons age. Silverlake stalworts Paul Geller with Hedi el Kolti, My Barbarian's Malik & Alex, Jack Beraket the guitarist with the band All Time Low and model Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

This little emug came to me from the Love Camel of London England who is having a west coast holiday in the US, and is now in Portland, Oregon later to join me in Los Angeles at UCLA.
A Camel in America
Oh Doll,
flights were long, but there were plenty of eye candies, especially on
the Virgin flight, including a couple of ginger. The eyes of the camel
were blessed.
The hotel/motel where I am staying downtown is part of a complex that
also includes a cafe/restaurant and a famous live music venues, so
yesterday I went to see a gig even if I was knackered.
I've just had a glorious breakfast with a thick chocolate shake, great
coffee and wonderful banana and hazelnut pancakes topped with
blueberries syrup. Yummy! The stomach of the camel is blessed and now
I can go shopping in a good camel mood.
The Northwest people are how I imagined them, all with beards and
checked shirts. Because I am organized, I brought some checked shirts
so I can blend perfectly, like camels can do.
God bless pancakes.
God bless checked shirts.

LES CONTES D'HOFFMAN DAVIS JR.
Saturday evening attended Jeffreyland Hilbert of Kustom Creative's 25th birthday party in Echo Par-que. The Doll was accompanied by handsome Mexy Cesar Vega, Hector Martinez with lover Ericla Pierce and young actorly Hayes MacArthur who is new to LA from Chieta, Illinois and is a big Dr. Davis fanatic.
The incredibly handsome and hunky Mr. Hilbert was behind the Spinderella wheels of steel and his adorable baby bro Curt was performing superior mixocology at the super post modern tiki bar. When you add up the peni length of the Hilbert Bros you get more then 20 inches of staunch and perfect prime Idaho meaty meatage.
The guest list was endless celebutants: Sears heir Andrew Sears, Terence McFaddon & Co., Frank Rodriguez with his art star ginger lover Patrick Lee, the lovely Marilyn Welch with handsome Chicano husband Moises Ruiz, David of Paris, Loren Quintana, bubbly blondine Jim Hanson, black studkin and dinge queen delight Marvina Jones, Highways patriarch Marcus Keilland Nazario, Kim Ghee of Crepe de Chine, Palm Springs muscle dicque power couple Steve Hall & gorgeous Glen "25 Centimeters" Spiegelman. Steve is a top art director for films, and commercials and is responsible for Bruce La Bruce's most recent success with his new movie LA Zombie and also Bruce's art installations. I adore Steve & Glen and their goodtime Sally joie de vivre. Great seeing the legendary Jolie aka: Jeff Judd who i go back 30 years with, and Mrs. Tom Guzman, plus an assortment of up and coming male ingenues including: Ryan Bingham, Armie Hammer, Jayson Blair with director Matt Reeves(Let Me In) Alex Segade of My Barbarian, my darling performance art daughter who i love tenderly Miss Wu of Club Wildness who had as her escort Indio Downey, the young son of Robert Downey Jr.
I was having a fantastic time at the party but had to leave early as the great Mexican dinner that Hector Martinez made for me had my stomach rumbling and I was feeling fat and bloated. I love Hector's food so much that i always over eat, and one shouldn't pig out on homemade Mexacalli food staples of Carne Asade, & beans. Hector learned how to cook from his wonderful Mamacita who grew up in Watts with the negritos and can cook turkey with all the trimmings completely soul food style, which she did for me when i first came to LA a few weeks ago. I love Hector's mom, she can also throw down--not afraid to take off her earrings and get in a knock out sluggo fest if someone is dissing her. Friday i returned to Cedar Sinai to visit my sister Gracie Lee Taylor whose stage four breast cancer keeps her in lots of pain, but her positive outlook and fantasia deluze adaise keeps the awful disease from spreading to vital organs. My mother died of stomach cancer age 84, and my sister Gloria Jean Williams left this mortal coil at 58 in 2006 the same year i immigrated to Germany. My youngest sister is 59 and also has health issues and mental issues being that she is a horder. Her entire dingbat apartment in Hollywood is filled from floor to ceiling with needless junk.

Stella of the long running radio program Stray Pop KXLU 88.9 midnight to 3am every friday wanted me to be a guest on the program but i couldnt score a ride to the Loyola Marymount campus in Westchester at such a short notice. Maybe next time.

Thursday night my twin sister from different mothers, Emi Fontana of West of Rome invited Dr. Doyle and I over to her magical South Pasadena compound for an Italian feast fit for a princepessa. She made me feel just like Monica Vitti. It was all pure enchantment, a special evening hosted by Ms. Fontana and her pretty assistant Maria who use to work for Ann Magnusen.
Thank you la Senora for being one hot homegirl and amazing cuisineste.

VE ALGO DIGA ALGO
My juicy Mexican hump master Cesar Vega who works as a commercial producer, and produced the short film Beyond Lovely I starred in several years ago with Gwen Turner took me for a scrumpteous meal last night at Phillipe's French Dip restaurant near Union Station. I had been craving Philippe's for years, as its one of my favorite LA eateries. The place has existed since 1908, and every year for their anniversary they roll back prices to that time period. After dinner we had drinks at the old French restaurant in Echo Park Taix, where my Afro Sister "Pop That Cherry" Jefferson's lesbian lover Ghislain de la Felaise use to work. Taix makes the best vodka gimlets imaginable, and Cesar and I shot the breeze with each other for what seemed like hours. Ran into one of my collegues Juan from the LA Weekly, who works part-time at Taix. Some country band was playing in the bar as part of an open mike, but we sat in the lounge area so we could talk and it was very cozy.
This morning Dr. Jennifer Doyle took me to Cedar Sinai Hospital to visit my ailing older sister Gracie Lee Taylor, who is dying of cancer. Her spirits were high, and she still lives in a deluded state which is probably the best place for her in this condition. My sister is 71, so her breast cancer has settled in her bones, but not in her major organs. She is in a lot of pain, but it seems like she is adjusting to it. All of her children are in horrible straights, and hearing her talk was a bit depressing, but we actually had a good time together. I hadn't seen her in ten years.
Dr. Doyle took me for luncheon after the hospital to this place on Beverly and Vista called BLD that use to be Red in another incarnation. The food and atmosphere simply delightful, and we spotted writer Jay MacInery(Bright Lights,Big City) across the room and a few tables from us the Inception lipsexy actor Tom Hardy.
Tuesday Hector and i escaped the heat by going to The Grove to catch a guilty pleasure Hollywood film. I don't remember the name of the picture but it was a teen comedy version of The Scarlett Letter that feaured a really hot young actor with quite a rack appeal. We also went to the Chinese Theatre cineplex and saw The Virginity Hit which features a young Jewish actor who reminded me of Jason Biggs and a little bit of Steve Guttenberg when he starred in The Chicken Chronicles back in the late 1970s.
That evening i had dinner at the Echo Park compound of Jose Montano. I've known Jose for over 20 years. His father is a famous Bolivian architect and his mother a Swedish actress, so he is very good looking, swarthy and exotic. He is a production designer who has worked in high end commercials like The Liz Taylor White Diamonds campaign and rock videos like REM's Losing My Religion. Lately he has been production designing films like the new movie The Obama Effect that was written and directed by actor Charles Dutton and produced by Barry Hankerson. Jose is a marvelous cook and made Bolivian Chilled Parseley Chicken, with Caribbean Negrette black beans, dingy rice, pumpkin wedgies and mulatto indian summer salad. Jose and I havent hung out in what seemed like centuries so we had a lot to catch up on like mutual friends Lady Diana Judd who is now married to the main solicitor for Rupert Murdoch named Alistair and has two young children. Jose also has a hot new lover who is Costa Rican and Afro Brazilian named Lucien. Jose gave up his car and lives a more modest lifestyle returning to his art school roots of painting, and print making. I spent the night at his house, and in the morning we continued chatting over a La Paz style continental breakfast.

NOISE AND THE REINVENTION OF THE EVERYDAY
Brutal heatwave sweeping the southland with fires in Thousand Oaks and temperatures turning the city into an easy bake oven. Dr. Doyle took me to the “Bu” as in Malibu to escape the 115 degree Fahrenheit heat, but it was 93 at the beach and sweltering with little to no breezes other then hot ones. Joining us for fun and frolic was handsome Jan Klesse my German sweatheart from Berlin who is in my new musical/art project Tenderloin, and a beautiful multidisciplinary artist friend of Dr. Doyle’s named Adria’ Julia who is Catalon and works in the exciting new conceptual installic practice of creating utopias from scratch. The swarthy Senor Julia is also a surfer and spent a lot time in the water filling out a wet suit like you wouldn’t believe. There were a lot of humpy surfers floating about, so the eye candy was at a premium. I chittle chatted with one named Jamie Padgett who had a smoking hot studly body, and saw this other one paddle surfing. Is that the new surf trend? I don’t even know how to swim so I stayed pretty far from the water huddled in a cave of my own design under some shack like beach houses. One of the paddle surfer boys a girl next to me told me was Brody Jenner, who is the well built son of 70s sports star Bruce Jenner who I have seen in photos lately and looks like he’s going through a sex change to become a lesbian.
My sweet Jan Klesse started a beach pickup game of soccer with this incredibly sexy Japanese man named Hidetoshi Nakata who happens to be an ex-soccer star and model-super yummy.
We left the beach around 7pm because I had a dinner date with reality TV production kingpin(The Amazing Race) and former academe David Gardner and his scholar pal Scott Thomas who visited me in Berlin last year and took me out to Gino’s Kreuzberg. Mr. Gardner who lives most of the year in Paris took the doll to The Pacific Dining Car, one of her most favorite old fashion LA eateries. PDC has been open 24/7 since 1921. I drank one of the best Vodka Gimlet’s ever and stuffed a filet mignon down my throaty throat plus a pecan pie for desert. Yumsville! The three of us had a blast gabbing away until way after midnight on a variety of subjects ranging from legendary openly lesbian Hollywood golden era film director Dorothy Arzner to the Wm Wenders film The State of Things.
Sunday Marlou de Luna and Hal Marinas took me to breakfast at Pacific Dining Car where we were joined by the charming Britisher Joe Bristow a professor with UCLA’s English department and his lover attorney Blain Noblett. Mr. Noblette works with MarLou for the State of California’s Dept of Corporations. Mr. Bristow is one of the academics responsible for bringing me out to Los Angeles on this visit where I will perform a performative lecture on Oct 9th at UCLA’s Royce Hall room 314 at 6pm as part of this yearly queer arts conference. If you are planning to attend email the address below and make a reservation with your name and number of guests. The event is free of charge but seating is limited in the small lecture hall.

I would suggest carpooling or skip driving altogether and just taking the bus to the UCLA campus in Westwood, and spend time cruising all the young humpy students. Here is a link with some more additional info:

I went to the post office the other day and what a change at this venerable institution. The employees were so nice it was scary, and there was no line whatsoever. I guess it’s a response to all the competition which was making the US Postal Service obsolete.
The other day at the beginning of the LA heat wave I saw LA institution Angeline getting out of her pink Corvette with some faggot sycophant going into the Mickey D’s on Sunset at Fountain in Silverlake. LA isn’t LA unless you have an Angeliine sighting.
Emi Fontana of West of Rome came by and visited with Dr. Doyle and I Sunday during the late afternoon of the first day of the awful heat wave. I adore Ms. Fontana. She was looking very glam and sexy wearing a see-through Jean Paul Gaultier dress. Ms. Fontana will be bringing me back to LA in the 2011/12 season for a big public art project through the Getty. She and Dr. Doyle got along famously as both have a soccer background. She popped by on her way from the opening of LACMA’s Resnick Pavillion. We were all a bunch of giggling Gertie’s munching on La Dr. Doyle’s yummy ceviche on tostada’s from a local tortillaria. Ms. Fontana is inviting us to dinner at her South Pasadena compound on Thursday. Can’t wait.

LA CHAMBRE DU GARCON
Up early Saturday morn, went down to the Sunset Junction Farmer’s Market. Ate a delicious scone and drank the best cappacino ever from this new coffee house situated on Hoover near the old One Way leather bar called Cafecito Organico. Cute kids working their stand in the market. The weather has heated up. Los Ang summer was unseasonably cool. Now that its Autumn the city is scorching with fierce summer like temps that are going to hover around 95 degrees farenheit for the next week. Yuk! I guess I should be thankful for the sun and warmth as its freezing back home in Berlin. So weird saying that Berlin is now home. I am having a mondo wondo time in LA, but I know now that I could never live here or in the US ever again.
Dr. Jennifer Doyle aka: Pirate Jenny of Montepelier is both a knockout UC Riverside scholar and crack DJane with my Club Brickstops at the Parlour Club. She just came back to Silverlake from her summer writing retreat in the south of France, and we’ve been having a lovely girlish slumber party existence. Her Day of the Locust court style apartment is extremely charming, and I’ve really enjoyed hearing all her wonderous tales of her fab and exciting life. In fact Dr. Doyle’s Soccer blog, From A Left Wing: The Cultural Politics of Soccer is enjoying enormous popularity. The right on Maud Dr. Doyle makes righteous commentary on topics ignored by the mainstream sports media concerning feminism, arts & culture filtered through international women’s football. She has been asked to be on NPR and talk about the three S’s namely: Soccer, S’art-re History and Sex, the divine combo that seems to fuel her electric eclectic prose that sizzles and pops in ways unlike no one else in the Academy or all of Christendom. Not only has Dr. Doyle been writing for Frieze Magazine but also The New York Times and the UK’s The Guardian newspaper. I was so envious hearing about her travels to Southern Goa, in India to attend the Indian National Soccer Team training as part of her research for an upcoming book and curatorial art project. Not only that but she has become very close friends on and off the pitch with some of the most muscular, major Ms. Gorgeous young Indian soccer stars like the dashing Subhasish Roychowdhury, lovesexy Steven Benedic Diaz and hungthrobster Subrata Paul. If that isn’t enough Dr. Doyle is making me cream in my big white Nina Blanchard panties over the fact she will be traveling to South Afrika and Brazil with this new incredible project of hers. All the world seems to be suddenly wrapped up in the house of Dr. Jennifer Doyle. And my dear’s that is the way it should be.
Rudy Bleu one of my LA children and his hot ginger haired Texas lover Andrew Watley took me to breaky at Dusty’s Café in Silverlake on Sunset & Larissa. The blondine hostess who sat us wasn’t featuring the Doll, and neither was the lanky waiter. I had forgotten that I had swore never to darken that café’s doorstep because Dr. Doyle had taken me their when they first opened and they were really rude to us. Sitting a few seats over from us was Scientology actress Kirstie Alley, looking very young and cute. Rudy Bleu works for the gay production company World of Wonder, but I first met him at my weekly punk rock beer bust Club Sucker when he was a queer punk teen in the 1990s. Now he is 32 years old and is looking quite handsome with his manly beard and hot sensitive top mannerisms. Rudy is one of my young protégé’s who started doing his own zine called Scutter and created a punk music festival that became a huge Echo Park sensation and curating experimental music for the Cooper’s Donut concern. All hail juicy Rudy Bleu!!!
Last night I had a late night din din with Cory Marie Podielski , one of my top Bricktops at the Parlour Girls. Cory is one busy lady working as a top graphic designer, illustrator, textile designer and muralist. She designed my beautiful business cards and stationary. She also is a tribal fusion bellydancer and fire eater and square dance caller leading the square dance revolution that is sweeping the universe. Cory Marie took me to The Kitchen Café on the corner where Fountain turns into Hyperion right next door to Akbar. The Kitchen has great food, and I missed their southern Fried Chicken, garlic mash potatoes and cornbread. When we were entering the restaurant around midnight sizzling Australian actor Ryan Kwanten of the Vampire cable TV series True Blood was exiting. I never recognize shtars but this kid has an ass to build a dream on.
After eating Cory Marie drove me to Lincoln Heights to show me some new happening hotspots in this area that is becoming quite popular as the new LA “It” neighborhood, and she also gave me a tour of her lovely Mt. Washington hillside home. I love me my homegirl Cory Marie!!!!

Friday I went to Hollywood proper and visited the great Diz McNally at her Cahuenga newstand day job at World Book & News which is California’s largest 24 hour newsstand. Miss Diz is an LA treasure who I have known since the 1980s when she worked at the Radion Café in West LA, and later when it moved to Franklin Avenue. Diz is known as one of the most fired waitresses in Los Angeles. Like me Miss Diz is a true individual and iconoclast. There is nobody like her, and she looks just as young and tight bodied as when we first met. She is completely an ageless beauty woman, with the very best and most positive outlook on life. Diz is someone who is such and LA fixture that makes the city so unique and special, and I have really missed her warmth and generosity. I also stopped at the Cuban Juice Bar that use to be on Vine Street that had to move to Hollywood Blvd and Ivar when they started constructing the ghastly new W Hotel.
The elderly owner remembered me and we chittle chatted for a bit. I ordered their intoxicating banana/orange/strawberry/honey/bee pollen smoothie and a Turkey Avocado sandwich. Walked past legendary lesbian film director Dorothy Arzner’s star on the Walk of Fame. Ms. Arzner was one of my film teacher’s at UCLA in the 1970s when I went to school there as part of the MGM(Mentally Gifted Minor’s) Program in the early 1970s.
I met with a young admire who shall remain nameless as he is a young strapping Hollywood male ingénue in talking pictures of the moment. Our relationship is purely platonic as he is just curious about performance artists and drag in particular. He took me to a flick at the tired Arc Light Cinema House in back of the Cinerama Dome. He wanted to see the Wall Street sequel with Michael Douglas but I convinced him to take me to the new Woody Allen comedy, You Will Meet a Tall and Handsome Stranger starring Gemma Jones who was the star of my favorite Masterpiece Theatre series The Duchess of Duke Street. She was the best thing in the flicker which also stars Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Josh Brolin who is so ugly now. His father James Brolin, who is married to Barbara Streisand and use to star on TV in Marcus Welby MD looks better then his son. I remember when Josh Brolin was young and hot in the late 80s and was the star of an indie film that was written by and starring punk rock princess Pleasant Gehman and her rockabilly band The Screamin’ Sirens called The Running Kind.
My date pointed out a hot gay couple sitting a few aisles from us during this matinee screening and told me that the two men were also actors. The cuter of the pair is named Liam Hemsworth and his partner is Ben Hollingsworth. Being that I live in Germany and I’m not up on current pop culture personalities, other then being attractive they registered as complete zeros in my personality book.
My poor date had to shell out $13.00 each for our tickets. What a rip off the Arc Light is.
Saw a poster for the upcoming Cher/Christina Aguilera movie Burlesque. Steve Antin is directing this picture. Steve use to be an actor in teen flicks in the 1980s and has a hustler white quality to him. When I knew him he also had some killer speed freak abs. He went out with this boy beauty of the era named Jon Harp who was beyond gorgeous but not so nice in that catty way that attractive gay boys can be.
My date also drove me to Robertson Blvd which is now a super celebrity enclave. He went into this trendy clothing store and I left him there to walked up the street, and saw that Ed’s Coffee Shop is still there. This has to be the tiniest café in the world. It keeps odd hours and is usually only open from 7am-3pm and 7-1 on Saturdays. I didn’t recognize Robertson from Beverly Blvd to Melrose. I noticed that Yamashiros, the upscale hair salon for Japanese American celebrities and trendies went out of business. In the 70s and 80s these streets off of Robertson were major cruising areas and a sexual paradise for gay men having public sex behind every buildings nook & cranny and in the backyards of homes along Ashcroft Avenue. The famed bathhouse 8709 located within the Cedar Sinai Medical Complex and owned by UC Regent Sheldon Anderson was also near by. Ah those were the days.

Thursday Art Historian Robert Summer’s took me to UCLA’s New Wight Gallery Biennial where one of my most talented NYU students Jo-ey Tang had an installation. The group show featured an international array of young artists under the name Another Romance, expertly curated by Laeh Glenn, Alexander Kantarovsky and Rebecca Kolsrud. Jo-ey’s precariously placed art objects were definitely the exhibits highlight. Mr. Summers and I were taking pictures of Jo-ey’s art when a young handsome man approached us and asked what we were doing. Robert brilliantly explained the appeal of the artists very feminine and sensitive work, and the humpy man was transfixed. Someone later told me that the hunky fella was Benjamin Millepied a ballet dancer and actor in the new Darren Aronofsky film Black Swan starring Natalie Portman. Mr. Millepied was with Dave Franco the younger brother of showboating actor James Franco.
Before Robert Summers and I went to UCLA we stopped by Book Soup on the Sunset Strip. I was happy to see that the store hasn’t changed a bit. I heard a rumour that the owner of the store recently died so their future is up in the air. There were some lovely bookish girls working behind the counter and a cute gangly punk boy who I would love to have sit on my face. I was even recognized by some kid named Hunter Parrish who asked for my autograph making me feel like a celebrity.
Later in the evening Robert and I scarfed down some In&Out Burgers---yum.

Thursday morning Dr. Doyle took me for a lovely breakfast at Casbah Café in the Junction. It was very tranquil eating there and we had a nice time catching up on every little lady thing.

Forwarded this lovely comment from a fan who reads this very blog. I have copied it for your enjoyment.
My name is Rosenda Elizabeth Moore, I am a bookkeeper working at MOCA for the past 19 years, and I grew up here in Los Angeles, over near La Brea/Adams and later in Culver City.
I just recently discovered your blog, Ms Davis, and I wanted to say I really truly enjoy reading it lately.
You mention your fascinating adventures and experiences, but even more importantly than that, I really like reading about the people you are close to and have worked with.
It's a blast From the past for me, because many of these people and places you mention I dearly and fondly remember either seeing perform or have spent really great times enjoying myself. Such as Glenn Meadmore, I enjoyed seeing him almost 20 years ago at a New Year’s Eve show that was downtown at the old Myron’s Ballroom. The event was hosted by The Apartment, which was a house music club I enjoyed dancing at for years with friends, it was usually at the Stardust Ballroom on Saturdays and then there was a Thursday night evening at Palette also. Anyway, the New Year’s Eve event entertainment was Mr Meadmore, before that was Thelma Houston and the great Dead Marilyn (I can’t remember that performer’s real name, I think his last name was James).
Years after I began working at MOCA, I was delighted to see one of Glenn’s artworks, a wall full of Polaroids that he took of himself and friends, as part of one of our art exhibitions.
And I really loved to read about your adventures with Ron Athey. He’s such a great performer, I also saw him and his group at the time perform years ago at LACE when it was still in Downtown LA in that factory area just past Alameda. It was a phenomenal show, my friend Hector and I got there late from Silverlake (where I lived for about 6 years), so the only spot to sit was up front on the floor, right next to the wooden stick pyramid thing that Pigpen was sitting inside looking serene with her lips sewn shut. I also remember Divinity Fudge was part of the show, and before he went on, there was this fascinating and scary scene I just loved where the couple were dressed up as nurse and patient. Very sexy and bloody (well by implication cause I never saw any.) A couple of days later at the office at MOCA I ran into a couple of coworkers, the box office mgr and the retail mgr at the time, and they both asked me “weren’t you scared sitting up front so close to the performers onstage? I would have been! You’re brave!” Which I thought was ridiculous a couple of kinda bitter queen friends telling me this. Me and my friend Hector just looooved that Ron Athey group performance, it was wonderful.
We also remember you very very fondly. There was a club you organized on the corner of Santa Monica and Virgil, I forgot the name, but the night I was there, the featured bands were Goth Brooks (I don’t think they showed up and I was bummed about that), Mongoloid (Devo cover band, great!) and Nudist Priest: they were SO good. And it didn’t hurt that they all wore only codpieces and boots. Funny enough, that night I also ran into several MOCA coworkers too, most were from our exhibition production department. That was so much fun, but I think they were all shocked to see me and my friend Janelle there: I guess they didn’t think the finance dept employees should be having so much fun in Silverlake.
I’m sure I could go on and on singing your praises, but I admire so much your great career and I especially was fascinated and interested in your work on Bricktops and the various bands you were in. I actually looked up the story about the original Bricktop and boy, did she have a great life with the clubs. I really enjoyed reading about how she got started and all that. If it wasn’t for you, I’d never have known about her too.
I’d love to meet you someday, and here’s to that dream coming true. Right ON for you having such a good time out here in Los Angeles meeting up with your old friends and colleagues, going down Memory Lane. I do hope someday I make it to Europe to see you perform. I have many things yet to accomplish and explore in my life and I plan to do so.
If you’re ever at MOCA, ask for me and I’ll come down and say hi, Ms. Davis.

Breathe In The Love, Breathe Out The Jive.

YOU ARE SO KATE MIDDLETON
Art Historian Robert Summers came and picked up the Doll to continue our Los Ang Memory Lane tour. I showed him my old Finley Arms Flat in Los Feliz Village where I use to be neighbors with a teenage Leo DiCaprio before he was a shtar, and we also glanced at the apartment of writer Dennis Cooper which sits across the street from a Catholic school which was one of the locations where G.B.Jones’ The Lollipop Generation was filmed in the early 1990s. Now Dennis Cooper lives in Paris.
It was great going by La Mirada Avenue in Hollywood proper to take pics of my old Karnak Apartment Building. This is where I lived in the mid 1980s during the heydey of The Afro Sisters. The buildings façade is an Egyptian pylon. My Afro Sister “Pop That Cherry” Jefferson lived on the third floor of this building and I lived on the second floor. The bands The Nymphs, The Fiends, Lions & Ghosts and The Lazy Cowgirls were just a few of the many musicians that inhabited this fun party pad. We also went driving down Selma Avenue, the infamous ave of male prostitution before things moved further south to Santa Monica Blvd. We took pics of the famous First Baptist Church on Selma & Las Palmas where John Rechy use to hustle in front of back in the day, and also the hustler bar the Spotlight Pub.
On the far west section of Sunset we took a peek at the La Villa Rosa Apt where my Hag Gallery was situated. Drew Barrymore’s father John Drew Barrymore was my next door neighbor and he died at that apartment in a drug and alcohol deluze adaise. We had luncheon at In&Out Burger, which was divine. We got our meal to go and ate at this cute little park off of Fountain and Highland that use to be a big drug market and now is gentrified with a giant metal fence surrounding it.
Tuesday night Jeffreyland Hilbert of Kustom Creative Ad Agency made me a fab dinner at his new house in Echo Park on LeMoyne Avenue near the famed family residence of the Carbajals of Echo Park. Lonny Carbajal use to be one of Diana Ross’ best back-up dancers in the late 1970s.
I really love Jeffrey Hilberts new home. The house was built in 1908 and is utterly adorable. He has furnished it very simply and in great taste which is typical of Jeffrey in that he is incredibly brilliant, and is one of the most generous loving people I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with for years. In the early 1990s when I would perform at his club Trade I made some of the best money ever from working in the club scene. Most club promoters are stingy as hell, but not Jeffreyland. When he did clubs like Hai Karate, Hard and Sit & Spin he always paid me top dollar$ and kept me well fed by treating me to daily meals.
Monday I spent the day with Jan Klesse of the Glen Meadmore Kuntry Band. Jan is in Los Angeles for one month living with Glen Meadmore at his compound on Olive Street in Downtown LA. Jan is also in my new music/art project Tenderloin with Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras, Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online and this cute German kid that is in the indie band Ja Panik. Jan & I had breakfast at my old haunt The Pantry on Figueroa at 9th Street, we also did tea at The Biltmore Hotel and got a snack at the Grand Central Market. Then we met up with Hector Martinez and hung out with him at his Afleck Insurance office at the Library Tower the tallest building in the city, that has excellent views. Later Hector treated us to beers and snacks at Dublin’s Sports Bar at the 7th Street Metro Station Building.

Without opposing any rational methodologies, our intention was to bring together a group of artists who produce work with a Romantic raison d’être: to suspend temporality, to transcend language, and to embrace the possibility for the sublime in a contemporary territory often marked by looping self-reflexivity and irony.
The work in this exhibition, which encompasses a wide range of approaches and media, is unified by a desire to translate authentic experience through affect and artistry. Rather than focusing on discrete gestures that rely on immediate art-historical or cultural context, the artists in “Another Romance” uncover a renewed interest in the universal.
Another Romance brings together the work of seventeen artists from Belgium, France, Ireland, Britain, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and the US, many of whom have never previously exhibited in Los Angeles. In effect, the gallery space comes to serve as a site for a trans-national convergence of ambitious works, ideas and conversations, offering new potential for the authentic, the affective, the beautiful and, for lack of a better word, the Romantic.

FORNICATING WITH ASHTON KUCHAR
Spent a wonderous afternoon with lovesexy Jeffrey Hilbert and Frank Rodriguez my former Club Sucker partner at their hot advertising agency Kustom Creative on Santa Monica Blvd at the Junction in Silverlake. Jeffrey& Frank use to work in marketing at Sony/Columbia Pictures, but started their own firm which has taken off in an explosive way creating a new, younger industry standard in creative, edgy marketing and promotions. These hot boys head a really exciting and invigorating office environment, with a host of juicy employees in a very stimulating work environment that brims with whimsy and talent. I got the chance to preview a trailor they designed for this documentary on the fashion world called Picture Me, directed by the model Sarah Ziff, who started her career when she was a teenager. The film opened in New York at the end of fashion week and is getting quite a buzz because of the Kustom Creative trailor. Kustom Creative has also designed the marketing for a new film called the Virgin Hit, which they describe as the Blair Witch Project of teen sex comedies. I’ve fallen in love with the humpy dork star of the movie who reminds me of a combination Steve Guttenberg when he was a male ingénue in the film The Chicken Chronicles and Jason Biggs in the first American Pie film. The movie is produced by actor/comedian Will Farrell, but the Kustom Creative advertising campaign consists of a new mode of viral marketing that is just pure genius. Kustom Creative has also designed the bottle and label for a new Napa Valley Winery called Thea’, so they don’t just work in the bubble of the entertainment industry.
Frank & Jeffrey are super attractive and hunky. Frank has a dark and swarthy Spanish background, and Jeffrey who is originally from Idaho is the ginger beauty of all ginger beauties. Jeffrey just turned 30, so send him lots of presents.

The other day the artist Douglas Gordon who is an old friend of mine, who many years ago showed his work at my Hag Gallery-small, contemporary, haggard on Sunset Blvd. Doug treated me to a wonderful luncheon at this great Cuban restaurant in Silverlake. We had a lovely time catching up on things with gossip, gossip and more gossip about the tired art world. Doug made me swear to not repeat in this blog the gossip he told me, so I will respect that and not tell you, but believe me I wish I hadn’t made that promise.

Saturday morn young scholar Robert Summers took me to breakfast at my favorite greasy spoon Astro Family Restaurant in the Edendale section of Silverlake. All the staff members remembered me, and showered the Doll with love and affection. Robert Summers teaches at Otis School of Design, but has written his Phd dissertation on old Vagimule Davis Jr. I adore Robert he is extremely bright. Robert gave a couple of performative lecturinas at Bricktops that have become legendary. After breakfast I had Robert drive me to my old neighborhood and showed him my elementary, middle and high school, so he could get a flavour of where I came from and what it was like growing up as a poor ghetto kid and not a product of white middleclassism. It really opened his eyes. We will get together again and go down Vaginal Davis’s Los Ang memory lane.

I love Feb/December relationships so I am thrilled that designer Calvin Klein at 67 years of age has found true love and romance with a sultry blondine spokesmodel named Nick Gruber, who hails from somewhere in Florida the male concubine capital of the US of A. I don’t know Mr. Gruber personally but my sources tell me he is an enchanting lad of 20 years in age. Before courting Mr. Klein he was involved in a longterm relationship with an even older, stately gentleman in his early 80s who owns a gay bathhouse chain that includes LA’s infamous Flex Compound. Isn’t it great that there are still young muscular boys out there who aren’t ageist or sexist, and see a person for their inner beauty and strength of conviction.
In photos I have seen of the happy couple, Mr Klein has never looked better or more content. A far cry from when he caused a minor scandal during a basketball game where in a dazed and confused state he ambeled onto the court grabbing at the mighty genitalia of some black jubas jubilee players.
I support granny bopping in all its many facets.
*
Sunday morning Michele “Meesh” Mills took me to breakfast at Cha Cha Cha’s on Melrose and Virgil. We had the place all to ourselves for hours. I remember when Cha Cha Cha use to be one of LA’s most trendiest eateries. I am sick of trendy places, so was happy that it was quiet and not filled with icky industry types. The food is still great with excellent service. The late Mario Tamayo would be proud!
Michele has become one of the top producers in the reality TV genre getting her start with Tyra Banks’ America’s Top Model. She has also worked on the Rupaul Drag University show for World of Wonder productions and is now shaping a series about a tough love matchmaker for millionaires. Meesh and I go way back to the days when we use to see each other at the old dive bar My House on the Cahuenga Corridor. My House had a postage stamp size disco dance floor that lit up just like the movie Saturday Night Fever with DJ Kenny Rox. Meesh has styled my wigs, and done make-up and costuming for my performances for many years and also helped edit and star in films that I directed. She is one multi-talented diva who I love and adore.
Later in the evening I was taken to dinner to Café Stella by one of my oldest friends from elementary school Marlou De Luna. I have known her since she came fresh off the boat from the Phillipines in 1971. We also went to Junior High School and UCLA together where she was a sorority girl. At UCLA she met her handsome Jewish husband Hal Moranis. They both are lawyers with Mar Lou working for the State Department of Corporations. They live in an exclusive area of the Montrose Hills.
MarLou and I didnt go to the same high school but always kept in touch. She went to Fairfax High School with Fertile La Toyah Jackson and was in the same graduating class as Flea and Anthony of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Tim Hutton, Michele Green from the old TV series LA Law and comedian, TV presenter Byron Allen who went by the name of Byron Foulkes back then. Café Stella is one of my favorite Sunset Junction boites. While dining I ran into some old pals including Sarah Dale who owns the boutique Pull My Daisy and who use to perform at Club Sucker and also Bricktops with Phranc, the Jewish Lesbian Folksinger and her Gertrude Stein project called Phranc n Stein. Ms. Dale is preggers and is about to pop that baby out any minute. She looked so cute and adorable. She also happens to be a neighborhood representative at large for the City of Los Angeles. Very official. Also approaching me at Stella’s was David Gardner a scholar who lives in France who is a good friend of David Pendleton of Harvard Film Archive and Daniel Hendrickson & Marc Siegel of CHEAP kollective. The last person to approach me was Mickey Petralia with a group of friends from the old LA club scene of the mid to late 1980s. Mickey was this cute charmer with a large penis who I had a major crush on. He was part of the group that did clubs like Impala, Power Tools and Enter the Dragon. So great seeing him after so many years. He still has a lean tight body and now works in some capacity with the music industry. I guess I have had an affect on people over the years. Well I am insane, and either people have appreciated that quality or they haven’t.

I couldn’t share with you some art world gossip I learned from Douglas Gordon, but I can give you this little tidbit from the political arena. It seems like our dinge President Barach Obama has been bitten by the President Bill Clinton Big Hands bug and has been a bit indiscreet with a Whitehouse extern, the Washington term for intern. I don’t know just how much of a Lewinsky its become, but the yellow press is scrambling to turn it into a major houpla. Oh give the man a break. There hasn’t been a president who didn’t try to get some knookie on the side. It’s a tough job, and so they need the extra release from a groupie or two. So what I say. Michele Obama is a foxy lady so I suggest she find herself a Nick Gruber---Yowza!

GROUPIES BLEIBEN NICHT ZUM FRUHSTUCK
Europes handsomest man Ulrich Ziemons took me for a farewell breakfast at Avallon Café in Mehringdamn along with junior film programmer Nadja Talmi. It was raining catalunas and trogladites outside, but the three of us had an enchanting morning whooping it up royally.
The day before I met up with Joel Gibb the babydiaper of the Hidden Cameras and we mixed some new songs with Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online who is also in our new art music project Tenderloin. Both Felix and Joel were ragging on the recent Berlin Music Festival that they felt was badly organized. The police even closed the festivities at one point before headliner Fat Boy Slim performed, as there was an overcrowding issue that seemed like it was going to turn into the same disaster that befell the Love Parade a few weeks ago in another town in Germany.

I was feeling a bit melancholy leaving Berlin for Los Angeles where I will give a performative lecture at a UCLA art conference at Royce Hall room 314 6:30pm on Saturday Oct 9th. While I’m gone I will miss a rare Berlin appearance by the famed writer Juan Goyti Solo, the gay Spanish writer who lived most of his life in Paris with his late wife, but is now residing in Marakesh. After recording with Joel and Felix, Joel and I hung out in Neu Koelln observing the Hermannplatz street life. We ran into the creative director of Dior Homme Kris Van Assche who was in Berlin looking for inspiration. From what I observed it seems that Mr. Van Assche has found said inspiration in the lush titty cavity and bubble buttedness of bevy of striking Turkish and Arab youth clad in tight white pants and Gobi Desert scarfs.

Its been four years since I left Hell A. I have a bunch of meetings with some museum and folk, plus seeing old friends, family and acquaintances.
I left Wednesday morning on Delta/Air France from Berlin to Paris. The French air traffic controllers were doing a work slowdown or something, as my flight to Paris was delayed by an hour. I hate air travel.
France is on the verge of a general strike which will mean total chaos. I am glad that I will be returning to Berlin next month via transfers in Amsterdam. I boarded for the second time one of those new Airbus 300 planes for the long, tedious flight from Paris to Los Angeles. There wasn’t one empty seat, and no eye candy just fugly men and crying brats and lots of people with colds sneezing and coughing and spreading their germs in a rabid fashion.
My old pal Hector Martinez who is a top executive with the insurance company Afleck picked me up at the airport. I didn’t recognize the new downtown LA skyline with all these new buildings. At Hector’s Silverlake compound in the hills his lover Ericla cooked us a nice dinner. I wanted to stay up as long as I could to help with the jet lag so Hector drove me through Hollywood which I didn’t recognize. Hollywoodland has now become so piss eleganza with this upscale style that seems very Miami Vice—the movie remake with Colin Farrell not the 80s TV show starring Don Johnson.
In the morning Hector dropped me off at Dr. Doyle’s flat where I will be staying for awhile as she is off in Europe writing. I love Dr. Doyle’s courtyard apartment in the heart of Silverlake. Julie Tolentino came by to take me to luncheon at Astro Family, the 50s style greasy spoon that I love so much. That place hasn’t changed a bit. Julie and I had a blast hanging out for hours drinking cup after cup of coffee and gossiping like middle school Cholitas. Julie will be leaving for London soon to conduct some workshops with Ron Athey at Queen Mary College where Ron is an artist in residence.
While at Astro we bumped into Glen Meadmore picking up takeout. Glen came back with me to eat his meal and we wound up calling up Big Dicque Sneaky Pete Tomlinson, our drummer from PME and having a little reunion of sorts. Sneaky sells real estate and is married to Silverlake fashion stylist Houston, and he has a cute six year old kid. I have known Sneaky Pete since he was fresh of the boat with the Navy and came into Retail Slut on Melrose Avenue looking for a job. I told him to go to Cowboys and Poodles up the street and Paul “Whitey” Glynn hired the fresh faced big peniled beauty immediately, and he started having a wild love affair with Leslie Beatty who worked at CowPoo’s and was my first Clitoris Turner in my performance art group The Afro Sisters.
The weather is lovely not too hot not too cold, and from Dr. Doyle’s back window I have a divine view of the Hollywood Sign and the Griffith Park Observatory.

DORT, WO MAN BUCHER VERBRENNT, VERBRENNT MAN AM ENDE AUCH MENSCHEN
Danny “Haji” Hendrickson, the Scandanavian Muslim and translator to the shtars returned to Berlin from visiting his parents in Nashville, Tennessee. Danny brought the Vagimule doll lots of presents from Dollywood, the theme park of country music superstar Dolly Parton. Dollywood is located in the gorgeous great Smokey Mountains and is the homespun fun happening spot providing the south with music, entertainment, rides and attractions for the whole goddamn familia.Dollywood has been around for over 25 years. Danny and his folks has a good time, but coming from a musical family they were a little shocked that some of the singing at the Dollywood shows were a little on the amateur side, and that the male gospel quartet was just downright awful. In all the sound engineering and mixing for all the shows scored consistent low marks.
What Mr. Hendrickson and clan loved the most was the Dolly Museum with curios from Miss Parton’s life and illustrious career. Dollywood isn’t cheap. For a regular ticket it costs $55.00, but that gives you admission for two days, but senior citizens like me, only get $3 bucks off. If you’re planning a trip to Dollywood and want to know more about the fabulous lady Parton be sure to pick up a copy of her hagiography, Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business that features plenty of photos of the starina, and her mysterious hubby Carl Dean whom she has been married to for over 40 years. They have an open relationship. Dolly also is quite candid about her longtime lesbian companion Judy Ogle, who always travels with the star on tour, and has been her loyal stalworth since childhood. Dolly Parton is one fascinating American individualada.

Later in the early evening I met with film historian Marc Siegel and kJohnny Blue at the Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant. We were joined by Daniel Hendrickson and his red hot Black/Italio/German lover Piero Bellomo of the Piero Kolleczione. If you see me wearing anything cute its usually from Piero. After eating we went to the Horst Nite Club at Tempelhofer Ufer 1 in Kreuzberg to see a private screening of Pauline Beaudry and Renate Lorenz’s latest art film that I star in with the sensational dancer Arantxa Martinez called Contagious. The short subject film deals with epileptic dances and the cakewalk as practiced by 19th Century performers Jane Avril, Eugenie Fouge’re,Polaire and African American Aida Overton Walker. The director of photography was Bernadette Paassen with Sound by Johanna Herr and Karin Michalski and sound design by Rashad Becker.
The film looked really beautiful and of course the dancing by Ms. Martinez is superb. I wasn’t so happy with how I was photographed. Being a vain black woman of a certain age I need to be lit in a particular way, and not all angles are flattering to me. Even Hollywood movies that star black performers get the lighting wrong. Black skin requires intense cinematography sensitivity, and that is difficult to articulate to white filmmakers and DP's. When you tell them you don't like the way you look in a film, they just give you this confused dazed look.
I really have to stop being in front of the camera, and stick to being behind the camera, and only work on my own projects.
Visiting British feminist Kira Cochrane was chatting with New York model and “It Boy” Winston Cziminski and she also loved the dancing of Ms. Martinez in Contagious.
The rest of the evening involved screenings of two of the filmmakers work from 2009 Salomania that starred my LA tranny sister Wu that is based on the Ala Nazimova silent film Salome,1922 from the play by Oscar Wilde and Charming For the Revolution which stars the hilarious and inegmatic performer Werner Hirsch aka: Antonia Baird.

Congrats are in order for my sister of the journalista clothe Christine "Qtr Pounder" Pelisek of the LA Weekly, who is finally leaving that paper to work for the Daily Beast. Christine scored a rare reporter coup recently in her investigation of a serial murderer haunting the backstreets and alleys of South Central LA for more then 20 years.I adore Christine who is one perky Canuck blondine with a heart of gold and Rosalind Russel The Front Page spirit.

WAS SIE SCHON IMMER ÜBER SEX WISSEN WOLLTEN,ABER BISHER NICHTS ZU FRAGEN WAGTEN
Some reporter from the Wall Street Journal got my personal email address, and contacted me wanting to know if he can interview me about my career. This is a complete ruse as the only reason this periodical is interested in me is because it was written in a tabloid: black American transexual Vaginal Davis is involved in off/on affair with nutty billionaire Nicolas Berggruen.
Wait a minute! Before you get all invested in my so-called relationship with a billionaire its not what you think. Nicolas and I have a romantic friendship that is strictly platonic, we met years ago at a Tate Modern party, and like most men I meet he is only interested in my mind, not my smoking hot body. I have to admit Mr. Berggruen is attractive for a middle-aged man, but i don´t like men who are that close to me in age. And is this man ever overly opinionated. On top of that it still wouldn´t work even if he was interested in chowing down regularly on my tranny nappy dugout. Now that Herr Berggruen owns the Berlin department store chain Karstadt, perhaps i can go there and pick out a few free outfits.

DER BOOOOOM IST VORBEI
Trying to take care of things in Berlin before leaving for my hometown of Los Angeles for this big UCLA Queer Arts Conference that I have been invited to as a featured lecturer. It will be my first time back in that tired city of Los Ang since i left for Berlin in 2006. Everyone tells me that i won´t recognize the place. I miss my good friends, greasy spoon diners and Mexican & El Salvadorean food--- things that are impossible to get in Germany. But i really don´t miss the weather, though with the cool end of summer here in Berlina i have to admit being in perpetual sunlight will be nice, as well as the fake smiles of Angelenos. Berliners can be quite dour. I am not very sentimental about my family. I have nice relatives, but i´ve never felt a strong connection to them growing up, and we have nothing in common. But i will see my older sisters and my niece and her million march of kids. Her husband just got put in jail for being the getaway driver in a robbery. So I am really from the ghetto, and that proves it.

Spent a glorious day with baby diaper Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras. Joel is so strikingly handsome but in a quirky fashion and he is quite an accomplished visual artist, dancer/choreographer besides having the voice of an angelus and the ability to write perfect songs. We have embarked upon a new musical art project called Tenderloin. Thankx for all your input dear readers to our new name. This new music/art project will also feature Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online and Jan Klesse of the Glen Meadmore Cuntry band. Will keep you posted on this fascinating proj as things develop.

GELIEBTE APHRODITE
Accidentally walked through some street festival leather eventa in Schoneberg.I don´t know if it was the Berlin version of San Francisco´s Folsom Street Fair or some other kind of kinkfest. Saw some of the most awful looking men wearing such ridiculous costumes, and taking it all so seriously.A slew of sad leather pony´s and an ickmo or two who i guess were walking prophalactics. The real prizes were a contingent of men in camaflouge fatigues and helmets looking like US soldiers on the front lines of Iraq,Afghanistan or perhaps some new war that America has launched that I am not aware of. And no homonormative event would be complete without the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with their white faced minstrel genderfuck drag.

Was shopping at the wonderful Turkish supermarket ÖzGida, and ran into the youngish, cute solemn faced manager who i think is in distress over his homosexuality. His much younger brother was hanging around the store and said hello to me while i was sitting al fresco sipping a capucino.Wow the baby bro is about 18, tall with light brown hair and isn´t afraid to flirt.

File this under only in Berlin kids, only in Berlin-- but saw the most hideous site. A dog with dredlocks. The owner of said animal was a perfectly regular looking middle aged caucasion woman. Now those of you who know the Vagimule Davis doll well are aware that I can´t stand dredlocks. Don´t care for them on black people-- though they can get away with it but really hate them on whites. But now dredlocks on dogs?

Last night was a most enchanting evening at Arsenal Institute für Film und Video Kunst with a screening of Erich von Stroheim´s Foolish Wives, for the monthly performative silent film event Rising Stars, Falling Stars that i curate which featured the director playing the lead role as a no account count.
He was actually quite sexy in the film seducing a dowdy pepperpot diplomats wife, but my favorite scene is at the end when he has his way with a young retarded girl. The father avenges her honor by stuffing Herr von Stroheim promptly down a drain pipe.
Eunice Martin on klavier was riveting, and really enjoying herself, laughing at all the site gags in the film--never missing a beat.Phenomenal!
Little Alex of Macedonia not only styled my impoverished nobel look, but also designed my hair and make-up for the evening, which illicited gasps of approval. The hoity polloi who stayed for the post screening reception: Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, film programmer Nadja Talmi with curatorial assistant Uli Ziemons, film historian Marc Siegel and intermedia actress/director Susanne Sachsse the fearless leader of CHEAP kollective who leaves today for performances in Malmö, Sweden, dapper musician kJohnny Blue, Anna Muelter of HAU,bubble butt Iraeli Assaf Hochman who will be dancing in the new Peaches musical review at Hebel am Ufer that also features Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras with spazz attack choreography by Jeremy Wade, looking super lovesexy Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online with Susi the music editor for FM4,innocent scholar Sean Nye, Chocolate Grinder Film Kollective "It couple": Tatiana of the Ukraine and Julian "25 centimeters" Radlmeier, Turkish sweatheart Nasle with her juicy, handsome and very tall friend, the dorky American novelist Jonathan Safran Foer with Brandon Flowers of the Killers(now they were an odd couple)visiting fashion journalista Suleman Anaya and Vietnamese film director Tran Anh Hung of the film Norweigan Wood with fellow director Abbas Kiarostami (Certified Copy)

TOUS LES MATINS DU MONDE
Had a little farewell soiree at Ficken 3000 for Jan Klesse of the european touring Glen Meadmore Cuntry Band. Jan leaves for a monthlong holiday in Los Angeles, where the lovely Ms. Meadmore will host the handsome young man, and undoubtedly treat him like the valient prince he is. I think this is his first time in the USA and I am very happy and excited for the 19 year old lad.
Ficken 3000 which I like to call Frankenstein 5000 is a sex bar in KreuzKoelln that houses the weekly dance party Pork hosted by Tennessee Clafin aka: Baby Brian the exMormen hustler to A-list directors Gus Van Sant and Bryan Singer. The weekly Pork party was started by Mr. Claffin and writer Travis Jeppeson. The bar Ficken is owned by a middle aged German named Frank, and lately the pub has been embroiled in some contraversy. The rumours have been rampant that the owner pissed on and roughed up a young boy who came to the bar during the Pork party when said youngster rebuffed the owners sexual advances. I have also heard that the boy in question had broken glasses in the bar and was merely 86’d. Who knows what really happened, but many in the Berlin queer community are boycotting the bar.
Our little group went just to enjoy the 2for1 Tuesday night special, and so we were oblivious to the horndoggy regulars. Though I was surprised that one of the regulars known as The Chin wasn’t there. Seeing Jan off was Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online, with a cute & vivacious girlfriend visiting Berlina from Winnipeg, home of Guy Maddin and Glen Meadmore. Canadian baby diaper Joel Gibb, leader of the music & art kollective The Hidden Cameras and American pop music scholar Sean Nye.

Was invited to a scrumpteous dinner feast by Susanne Sachsse the intermedia actress, director and curator. You haven’t lived in Berlin until you sit at her celebrated round table. Frau Sachsse is soon off to Sweden for some high art performances. Next year the two of us will start working on a new performance piece where we play the famous feuding Oscar winning siblings Joan Fontaine and Olivia DeHavilland that will also involve Angela Davis, Ruth Fischer the leader of the German Communist Party of the 1920s, Godard’s One Plus One and Derek Jarman’s Jubilee. No! Bruce “Judy”LaBruce will not be directing this one.

This news just in: Mattias Lienthal the charasmatic and superr smart artistic director of the Hebbel am Ufer theatre in Berlin is calling it quits soon when his contract expires.
Mattias is responsible for some of the most adventurous programs in Europe. And i have had the pleasure of working under him since the Hebbel first started doing business as HAU 1, 2 & 3. He is a beloved Berlin figure, and has very kissable lipps.
What makes the Hebbel so great is that it is one of the few institutions in patriarchal Berlin that has women at the top of command as curators, programmers and heads of technical departments.
Whatever direction Mattias decides to move in next will certainly be successful and invigorating.

The Sieggesaule Magazine a gay throwaway monthly newsmagazine in Berlin used one of my photo collages off of my website and didnt even bother to credit me for it or pay for it. They put photo archive as the credit. Well its not a photo archive in the public domain its a piece of art work that has been exhibited at the Yerba Buena Museum in San Francisco and Deitch Projects Gallery in New York. The nerve of the people who do they lay out and art direction.

DEUTSCHLAND SCHAFFT SICH AB
O Thilo Sarrazin is in trouble again. This time the German Bundesbank board member made some dispairing remarks about Jews. Will he ever learn to think cafefully before he speaks. Tsk Tsk Herr Thilo.

I can’t wait to read the new Shirley Jackson collection Novels and Stories on the Library of the America Press. Ms. Jackson wrote the novel The Haunting of Hill House and the shocking tale, “The Lottery”.

For all you internet radio hounds. I was interviewed for this cute show by presenter Manuel Schubert from multicult FM who has been the host of the show since 2009. We chatted briefly about Rising Stars, Falling Stars and our upcoming screening of Erich von Stroheim’s Foolish Wives on Sunday Sept 5th at 8pm at Kino 2 at Arsenal Institute fur film und Video Kunst with musical accompanyment by the divine Eunice Martin.
To listen to the featurette which uses music from the early period of Erik Satie - Gnossiennes 6 Here are the details:
It's called "filmhighlights - das Kinomagazin"
Link: http://www.multicult.fm/programm/sendungen/filmhighlights/
The "filmhighlights" will be streamed via www.multicult.fm every Wednesday at 7 pm.
And brodcasted every Thursday at 8 am. - on 88.4 FM (Berlin) & 90.7 FM (Potsdam)
The podcasts can be found on www.soundcloud.com/filmanzeiger
Details on the Radiostation:"Multicult FM" is a free, non-profit (web-)radiostation based in Kreuzberg, Marheineke Markthalle. It's still a bit "under construction",they dont have a studio at the moment. Everything is "homemade".
The gossip: the public broadcasting network "rbb" skipped his own radiostation for the non-german listeners ("Radio Multikulti") on 31st of December 2008.The Multicult-project started its own stream in the same moment, when "Radio Multikulti" was shut down. As you can imagine, the "rbb" was not really amused.
In fact, they still hate them cause they managed to survive AND bring back multicultural content and music to the radios in Berlin.

This just in from my darling daughter Michele Carr of the Velvet Hammer Heritage Burlesque who is just as crazy as her mother. She inherited my nutters genes. Please read and send her some $funds----
My dream was to form a chimerical collective of fantastic L.A. based artists to collaborate on a multimedia dance production. This dance production is based on the life and times of enfant terrible, German Expressionist dancer Anita Berber. Berber was known as the dark muse of Weimar Berlin & is arguably a pioneer of modern day performance art & avant guard dance.
By blending the extraordinary talents of Ryan Heffington ~choreographer (www.sirheffington.com), Michelle Carr ~ director/producer (www.velvethammerburlesque.net), Annie Sperling ~ production designer (www.anniesperling.com), Douglas Little ~ art director(www.dlcompany.com), The Millionaire ~ composer of original score,Michael Schmidt ~ costume supervisor (www.michaelschmidtstudios.com) the collective's mission is to pay homage to Berber, bring her into the public consciousness & create a most singular and visually stunning full scale contemporary dance performance.
The individuals of this collective have followed & admired each others artistic achievements, occasionally working together on various commercial and creative projects here and there but never as a whole with one sole vision. It cannot be pinpointed exactly when, but a rather animated conversation sparked, over imbibements no doubt, about how wonderful it would be to get together and create something beautiful, dark and whimsical. I decided it was high time to gather my group of artistic cohorts and make it happen once and for all.
An ambitious feat to say the least. The "Great Recession" has created an unforgiving & dismal atmosphere for many in today's artistic community. Work and the endless pursuit of work has left precious little time and even less money to indulge in nourishing artistic collaborations.
However, when there is a will there is a way and we will see our vision realized! What better way to acknowledge and somewhat lift ourselves out of our own plight than to celebrate an artist, once called the "Inflation Queen", who developed her art and even flourished amidst tragic economic strife in a time, known as the Weimar era.
The funds raised will go directly into the production of 'Berber'. Your freehearted contribution will not only bring this unparalleled project to fruition but ultimately put it on the road from coast to coast & across the pond to Europe so as to spread the gorgeousness around. Every little bit helps and is most appreciated.
This is an all or nothing fund raising deal. If we do not make or surpass our $10,000 goal by September 20th, WE GET NOTHING!!!!! Quite possibly the project could be aborted for insufficient funds along with my will to live.(Ha,ha...)
PLEASE PASS THIS ON! This is an international fund raising effort. If we got 1,000 people to donate a mere $10, we would be golden. You can make that happen!

STANK UND CIRCUMSTANCE
Opening of the Arsenal Curator School, the second year for this very successful educational concept. Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus decided she wanted the doll to do a repeat presentation of my Rising Stars, Falling Stars program from last year which showcased the suffragette film What 80 Million Women Want from 1913, with a soundscape collage soundtrack by the Blue Brothers Tim & kJohnny. Tim Blue just got back from Dublin with Irish film artist Paul Rowley where their movie The Rooms played to SRO crowds. Tim encouraged the Arsenal audience to interactively join in with the soundtrack to W80MWW by responding to an image, audio, describe a favorite woman, comment on what is radical art, provide an early memory about gender, or thoughts on the history of woman’s rights. The eager showboating crowd ran with it, almost a little too enthusiastically for my tastes—but that’s what happens when you open the floor to the publicum.
My performance involved having Danny Hendrickson re-edit my 2004 film Wo ist Manfred that I made with the beautiful Cyril Kuhn of Zurich back in LA. Dan trimmed things down to 5 minutes from its original 9 min length. Taking on the persona of a ditsy Estonian curator I announced how I dug through the anals of the Arsenal archive and discovered an experimental film fragment unseen since it was made sometime between 1913 and1921. Daniel accompanied my rant and the film gorgeously on klavier accenting a song by Sophie Tucker, the last of the Red Hot Mammas.
Instead of drinks in the Rote Foyer this time a reception was held up in the Penthouse Terrace on the 9th Floor of the Sony Center.
Seen imbibing: The Gregors-Ulrich&Erica, Germany’s first family of film, and the founders of the Arsenal, with their daughter Milena Gregor, Birgit Kohler, Nanna Heidenreich, booty pie male ingenue Ken Duken from the Tarantino film Inglorious Basterds, German thespian Jurgen Vogel—I love his hot musclepud body and bad teeth, Chinese actress Gong Li, British musician Carl Barat of the newly reformed Libertines, humpy Chinese documentarian Lixin Fan(Last Train Home), Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel Online, handsome Jan Klesse the keyboard player with Glen Meadmore’s Cuntry Band who just graduated law school, Sean Nye, the young academic, flirting with lanky dirty blondine American Jake Huey, who just moved to Berlin, film historian Marc Siegel with his juicy intermedia actress girlfriend Susanne Sachsse, Nadja Talmi who has worked tirelessly organizing the curator school accompanied by handsome Uli Ziemons, Anna Muelter of HAU, Djane Olga Damnitz, artist Maggie Schneider, experimental film legend Birgit Hein,Heide Schuelupmann and Karola Gramann of Kinothek Asta Nielsen, Manuel Schubert the Multi Kult FM internet radio presenter with the program Film Highlights, Ena Schnitzelbaumer aka: DJane Metzgerei, artist/filmmaker Angela Melitopoulos and Maxmillian Winkler the lovesexy son of Henry”The Fonz” Winkler. Will someone please tell me what young Max is doing in Berlin? He should be engaged in wild sexual proclivities with Vaginal Davis Jr.

Had a productive rehearsal with new music project that involves Baby Diaper Joel Gibb, Felix Knoke and Jan Klesse. The name of this super group will either be Tenderloin or Schmusique. Feel free to email my intern Gleeson Brevard at Gleebrevard@aol.com to voice your opinion as to what we should call ourselves.
NYU Performance Studies scholar Tavia Nyongo had a farewell dinner that was lovingly prepared by artist/filmmaker Liz Rosenfeld with assist by British performance artist Richard Hancock. Ms. Rosenfeld is a KreuzKoelln treasure and very talented lady who applies the same approach to cooking that she does to her art. The menu consisted of a pre-course Amuse Bouche selection of bruschetta: fresh peach, pop that cherry tomatoes and tyme salsa, Tuscan white bean spread, burnt sage with negro butter. The appetizer consisted of La Liz’s signature dish: the highly individual beet tarty tart tatain with goat cheese and late summer queer theory salad. The main dish: homemade pussi gnocci in a lemon crème sauce, roasted tupelo fennel, tomato kill karne with candied pumpkin seeds.
It was all too heavenly and topping it off for desert: Lukas Haas lukewarm chocolate cake with lavender and black eyed berries luxuriating in crème fresh.
I am going to miss Tavia who is related to President Obama, but he will be back in Berlin next year.

Word out to Jens Lichtman the Swedish indie pop star! Give Maggie McDonald publishing credit on your new song “End of the World, Is Bigger Then Love” She came up with that lyric and the idea behind it, so do the right thing if you know whats good for you.

My partner in Sonnenallee crime Daniel “Haji” Hendrickson, the Scandanavian Muslim will be returning to the states for ten days to visit his parental units in Nashville. He plans on giving me a full report on his trip to Dollywood—the exclusive Dolly Parton themepark in Pigeon Forge. Are there Dolly Parton rollercoasters and Ferris Wheels at Dollywood? The park is only opened during the summer months and I bet its much better then Disneyworld, Busch Gardens or Coney Island combined.

Little triva item I learned from NPR Berlin. The popular quirky/offbeat grocery brand Trader Joe’s that has stores in California and more recently in New York is owned by the Albrecht Family Trust. The Albrecht Family are a German company that owns Aldi Discount Grocers. See what you learn by reading this very blog.

Film historian Marc Siegel had a family emergency and had to return abruptly to the states, so he wasn’t able to do his workshop at the Arsenal Summer Curator School. Nanna Heidenreich and the Vagimule doll filled in at a moments notice with something we called, . . .I’m Not One To Gossip So You Didn’t Hear It From Me--The Lore and Lure of Archival Modalities. This was our decription:
What makes an archive? They emerge from dealings with relationships and people, they grow out of passion, obsession, idiosyncrasies, but also coincidences. They consist of stories, loose ends, wild associations, and true encounters. Their ingredients are constantly rearranged, as memories are made up or fail, knowledge is passed on, or forgotten and reinvented. Archives are gosssip and gossip is the one true endless archive.
Our presentation was very extemporaneous, featuring clips from Mae West flicks Klondike Annie and She Done Him Wrong plus the Louis Delluc short Fievre. Nanna was great as always, but because I have had so many writing deadlines with an assortment of essays due for art catalogues, I wasn’t able to get a good night sleep and was pure excrement for brains. The young radio presenter Manuel Schubert was in the audience, and he told me afterwards while he was interviewing me for his program that the audience got the point. Oh welpsis, one can’t be on top of it at all times.

Just heard from Uli Ziemons, the handsomest man in Europe that the new Sylvester Stallone film The Expendables is quite a hoot. One of my old pals from Los Angeles Tim Palen aka: Big Daddy Dino is a theatrical marketing co-president with Lion Gate Films. Daddy Dino use to work for Sony Pictures in the Marketing Division and was the boss of my former Club Sucker partner Frank Rodriguez who now runs his own design firm called Custom Creative with Jeffreyland Hilbert who use to do the hot 90s queer clubs SitnSpin and Hai Karate.
Well getting back to the Stallone flick,I hear it’s the latest guilty pleasure. I haven’t seen it but am curious because the British action star Jason Statham is in it and I would sell my grandmother to get a night in the sack with Mr. Statham who is super yummy. The other stars in the flicker are sexy Jet Li, a long on the tooth Dolph Lundren, Bruce Willis, The Arnold and plastic surgery spokesmodel Mickey Roarke. Ain’t hollywood grand?

The international fashion design demi god Rick Owens is doing a hard bound coffee table book for Rizzoli. In it will be a section on the famed Hollywood dive bar The Spotlight. The book will feature photos by fotogs Brad Fierce and Albert Sanchez and pictures of luminaries like Ron Athey, Glen Meadmore, Goddess Bunny, Kembra of Karen Black Gaultier muse Eugenie, WandatheMan, Jolee, Michele Lamy, Scarlette Rouge and the Vaginal creature. I wrote a special essay for the book with lots of fond memories.

HO CHI MENSIS
Attended a major Ms. Gorgeous end of summer Viet Cong Gin&Tonic Party hosted by the incredible gaysian film & video art shtar Nguyen Tan Hoang(4Ever Bottom),who has been delighting Berliners this season during his sabbatical from Bryn Mawr College.
The mood was high octane teutonic festive with most of the members of CHEAP kollective including beautiful fearless leader Susanne Sachsse and film historian Marc Siegel just back from holiday in Espana. Scandanavian Muslim Daniel Hendrickson with his Afro/Ital/German lover Piero Belhommo of La Piero Kolleczione, Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus and Nanna Heidenreich of Arsenal Experimental getting ready for the Arsenal Summer Curator School that opens August 25th with a special performance by The Vagimule Doll with The Blue Bros Tim & kJohnny and Daniela Marie Hendrickson.
I flirted outrageously with Sexy Sascha Wölck who is Hoang´s number one BFF with his vivacious girlfriend Christina Rogers who looks like a young Romy Schneider with her enchanting chrystaline/azure blue eyes.
Berlin “It Couple” Kate Hers from UC Irvine and her lovesexycool Deutsch/Korean beau Han-Yo aka: Han-Joachim who is a PhD Physicist student---lecher!
Everyone wants a hot Korean boyfriend!
Also making the scene: Anja Michaelsen a charming Korean adoptee in Germany.American artists of the younger generation and flip-flopping couple Carrick Bell & Michael Rocco and Italian biologist/humanist Giovanni Frazzetto. What a hyphenate!

THE SWOLEN BOX
NYU performance studies professor Tavia Nyongo invited me to the opening of Tanz im August´s presentation of Gardenia at HAU 1.The international dance festival happens every year and this is the first time that I have attended the very popular event. Tavia was the moderator for a delightful after performance conversation. Our party included one of Tavia´s cute and charming young students who is in Berlin for a year on a fellowship.
I am not a big fan of dance theatre, and I´ve even parodied it in a short film I made in the 1990s called VooDoo Williamson,The Dona of Dance. This lovely and humour filled work was conceived and stars the transexual Flemish actress Vanessa Van Durme who reminded me of a settled age Justin Bond with some great gams. In our youth obsessed culture its a revelation to see older gals getting their due. I have often thought that men & women become more androgynous as they age, and this work was a testiment to that.
The cast which i believe goes under the company name of Les Ballets C de la B was directed by the team of Alain Platel and Frank Van Laecke. I loved the tableux´s created and the original music score of Steven Prengel as well as the slanted stage design of Paul Gallis. The performers with their Felliniesque rubber faces were supurb.Timur Magomedgadzhie with his Buster Keaton mug was a particular standout. Mr Magomedgadzhie is also a theatre professor, proving that most academics don´t get enough attention in the academy, and occasionally need to moonlight.I appreciated the eye candy of a juicy, muscular Russian dancer added to the mix, but felt he really wasn´t needed.
After the discussion we headed to the WAU cafe and joined local Berlin Shtars Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, Nicole Wolfe and Anna Muelter for a late night supper and drinks that joyfully progressed into the wee hours.
