SLOAN POWER RANGERS
The Vaginal Davis doll celebrated her 440th year on the planet in merry ole queen mumdom of London England. Dominic Johnson the dashing young Queen Mary scholar and performance art darling hosted a gala celebration at his Miami on the Thames home in Hackney. Dom also cooked a divine vegan feast of the Magi, and the alcohol never stopped flowing. The guests included: Newlywed Ron Athey and his handsome Argentinian husband Alfredo Hunter, mega art schtar Franko b and his lovely art bride Tom Qualmann, dapper Martin Hargreaves of Dance Theatre Journal, lovesexy Gavin Butt of Goldsmith College, hunky Italian fashion and art photog Manuel Vason with actor James Purefoy, live artist Marisa Carnesky and her rock god husband Rasp Thorne of the band The Briars, orthodox Jewish drag king legend Oreet Ashery, aka: Marcus Fischer, The Love Camel, Andrea Novarin of the BFI, dynamic Brazilian bombshell Nando Messias with hubby Lawrence and gorgeous gal pal Bel Domingues visiting from South America, club kingpin Lee Adams and beau Chris, visual artist Thom Shaw and companion Ryan Ormonde.
Saturday Camel and Dom took me to dinner at the yummy Mexican eatery Pacifico in Coven Garden, and in the afternoon Dom treated me to the beauty of Broadway Market with coffee and dainties at La Bouche and lunch at The Premises. The weather was sunny and a bit warmish. I even saw some big footed men wearing flip-flops. Can you imagine beach thongs in February? Being an anglophile I adore the English beauty roses with their peaches and cream complexions. Like Germans, the British are either major Ms. Gorgeous or uber fugly with very little inbetween those two options. Saturday night Dom took me to long running performance club Ducky, the brainchild of the great Simon Casson. I can’t believe Ducky has been around for 16 years and still going strong. All the irregulars were there like host Amy Lamy, DJ’s the Readers Wives and the guardians of the gate Jay & Father Clothe. The performers for the evening was the Berlin based Scandanavian duo Nuclear Family which features Nicolai Tange Lange who DJ’s at Pork at Ficken 3000. I loved their first song “I Hate Everything” but the second ditty “HIV is the new Virginity” sort of fell a little flat. But it didn’t matter as the crowd was happy to be anywhere. The first performers Owen Parry & Elena were a hoot. Mr. Parry was wearing an oversized sweater ala Ann-Margaret’s reverse strip in Bye Bye Birdie and the sheer nuttyness of his music hall style short format piece was hilarious, plus he has a nice pair of Birkin Bag sized testicles, and is such a sweet looking humpy dork. At Ducky Dom scored the evenings beauty prize picking up a young Swedish aerialist and circus performer named Leo. I left the club and went to Chariots of Fire Sauna which was packed with muscle studkins all zoned out in a K-hole and drug deluze adaize. Didn’t get my nappy dugout worked on, but I talked to some interesting people including an Afghan, an Egyptian, an Iranian and a Jamaican jubas jubilee who hates people who wear dreadlocks.
Before coming to London I stayed up all night at the Forum party at the Volksbuhner. My date for the evening being NYU scholar Tavia Nyongo. I actually had a great time at that party flirting with tall, young, cute blondine German actor types who were unusually flirtacious, and getting excited by Chinese pop starlets.

EINMAL IST KEINMAL
Had a delightful time with Daniel Hendrickson of CHEAP hosting the Green Intermission Forum Expanded shorts program. Daniel looked very masculine and handsome in his early 1960s tux, and he designed for me an op art green caftan that had the audience ooohing and ahhhhing. Was introduced to and took a picture with some cute young German actor named Jacob Matschenz who isn’t my type but I wouldn’t kick him out of bed if he climbed in with me. So lovely seeing Ela Troyano and Uzi Parnes from New York, whose program The Silence of Marcel Duchamp will be screening 2nite at 9:30 and I cant wait to see it.
Saw the intriguing Paraguayan documentary Cuchillode by Renate Costa with downtown legend John Heys who is a riot to see a movie with. I adore the wonderful Mr. Heys. Caught the Japanese film Parade directed by Isao Yukisada that featured an adorable cast of hot twentysomethings, then rushed off across town to catch Cheryl Dunye’s kollective film The Owls featuring Guin Turner and a great cameo from one of my LA children Michael Lucid of Pretty Things. I love this new project of Cheryl and her producer Alex Juhasz and company. The screenplay was co-written by the great Lesbian writer Sarah Schulman and the proceedings reminded me of the situations surrounding the all girl band The GoGo’s which was founded by out lesbian Margo Olivera and the Canadian dyke band Fifth Column. That hot Cheryl Dunye is my girl. Her movie will have its world premiere 2night at Cinemaxx with an after party at Chantal’s House of Shame.

DINGLISH SPOKEN HIER
Continuing my Berlinale Report Card: Saw Plein Sud(Going South)the new film by super dimunitive French director Sebastien Lifshitz who made the movie Wild Side(2004) that i liked about a hot buttery tranny who has two lovers- a Russian and an Arab. That film also featured a product placement cameo by Antony of Antony & the Johnsons. Plein Sud has some remarkable eye treats in the masculine form of square jawed buckshot Yannick Renier, Gallic surfer studkin Pierre Perrier and upturned nose twank Theo Frilet. Unfortunately the morose and soppy storyline feels flat and contrived. Lea Seydoux as a low rent LoLita came across as the most intriguing character even though its clear she isn´t supposed to. I enjoy a movie with lots of beef jerky in it, but Ms. Seydoux brought out my latent lesbian tendencies-she´s just that entrancing. Nice try Mr. Lifshitz, but teenage roadflick crossed with mournful character study as a new genre just doesn´t jive. The proceedings here are all skillfully painted thanx to a talented female cinematographer whose name escapes me. During the Q&A with Kiki Petersen i couldn´t help but smirk as the directors face fell when he realized how grande a dilletante error he made with this folly.
Monsieur Lifshitz should take lessons from the Rainer Werner Fassbinder Cinema School. The screening of 1973´s Welt Am Draht was delirious, and I am all crushed out on the films star, the humpy pud Klaus Löwitsch. I hate seeing movies at Urania which reminds me of a new age high school auditorium---yuck! Welt Am Draht is so timely today as many people are leading computer simulated lives. The two part drama was first shown on German television. I missed the second part sadly as i went to a screening at Zoo Palast(See Below)
My favorite scene is in a nightclub where the entertaintainment is provided by a bevy of muscular black bodybuilders wearing the scantiest of scanties, flexing to the muzak beat. Can you imagine the dexedrine casting couch that Fassbinder used for that scene? In the F-binder future we will all be treated to a dinge utopia.
Speaking of dinge the Brazilian feature Besouro looked pretty with its nubile cast of sexy Capoiera movers and shakers. Yes i understand that Brazil didn´t outlaw slavery until the late 1890s, but the heavy handed paint-by-tumblers approach to filmmaking that tiny director Joao Dante Tikhominoff uses left me very Hoagy Carmichael. Swarthy Portoguese colonialists are bad & racists, while the tight tittied Negrettes are good and mystical. Hilarious hijinks ensue!

Nina Blanchard died this week. Ms. Blanchard owned the famed Nina Blanchard Modeling Agency whose roster included Cheryl Tiegs and Rene Russo. One of my old girlfriends Lauren Pine who nows works in Manhattan as a nurse pain use to be employed at the Blanchard Agency on the Sunset Strip, and regaled me with tales of how everytime Nina would appear on Entertainment Tonight some wingnut would write the office requesting some of her soiled big white panties. She looked like she would wear big white cotton panties. RIP.

MOIST FARMING
Went to see one of my talented students from Weissensee Art Akademy-- Katja von Hellsdorf, aka Katja Maya sing in her new musical art project Leisyelento at a nutty space called HBC which was very difficult to find. Katja is also a visual artist and filmmaker and i loved the song she sung in her short film and hearing that same song live was a nice treat. The band is usually a duo with Katja singing and playing the kazoo and saw, and Christian a lanky Argentine who reminds me of a South American version of Momus on guitar. At this performance they supplemented the music with a visiting Argentine on keyboards providing subtle soundscapes. Their sound is very music hall, filtered through Kurt Weill and Serge Gainsburg with a little Magnetic Fields thrown in like a fairies eyeball. The atmospheric music was sung in Spanish, German, French and English and I am curious to see them develop. Also watching the group was one of Katja´s musician friends, a very cute, vivacious German boy named Vincente who has a band called My Sister Grenadine. Conversing with the vivacious young Vincente makes me want to see him perform, and hear his musical output as well.
Received a lovely, unusual Valentine from The Aztec Warrior in Los Angeles:
My Dearest Black Mombasa,
Happy Valentines Day. I am home in Lago de Plata, I gave my Valentine a Mac Book Pro and it is now being set up to work. I was thinking of my 5th grade Valentines Day.
Your Azteca Warrior had already started to break out with acne in the 5th grade. Only God knows how many deals with the Devil I made to get rid of my Acne, none of the deals worked! So it was Valentines Day in 5th grade and we had to make Valentine paper bags out of standard brown lunch bags to hold the cards we'd be receiving from our classmates. I had my Mom go with me to 3 different stores before I picked out the box I wanted, Glittery cards for the special boys in my class and regular cards for everyone else, including the teacher.
So it was finally time for all of us to start passing out our cards, the teacher had all of us going around the tables placing our cards on the desks of our classmates. So the frenzy started and the class got a little out of control with the kids running to the different tables to place a VD card. I was delivering my cards with my baby poker face on and keeping an eye on my desk to see who was leaving cards at my table. I kept looking and there were no cards on my table, but I kept delivering mine. The First card I delivered was to Petie Rodriguez, he was beautiful with long hair and bright blue eyes! Then Gibby Gomez, already a hot lil Cholo with perfect skin and green eyes, then Angel, Rudy and so on… I glanced back at my desk when I was half way through my cards and I had one card on my desk, it was from Gibby, I saw him place it on my desk. So the class settled down and the teasing of what boy gave a card to what girl also settled. I made my way back to my desk and I had two cards for me. One from Gibby and the other from Mabel, who in Kindergarten I thought I would marry because I thought nobody else would marry her with her short arms.
I put my two cards in my bag, but not quick enough for the teacher to see that I only had two cards. So Ms. Tracy asked me if I got all my cards, I said yes. She said let me see your bag, I remember giving her a look that upset her, and she said, I asked you a question. She took the bag and pulled out the two cards, and then she yelled to the class for everyone to shut up! She asked the class, there are 26 of you and lil Aztec Warrior only has two cards… everyone was super quiet and she went on to ruin the fun and start some sort of lecture, finally Iguana, her name was Luanna, but we called her Iguana said, I ran out of cards. Everyone else was just quiet. Ms Tracy made everyone pull out some paper and make me a card. I remember breathing because I thought I was going to cry but at the same time I didn’t feel like I needed to cry since I knew that Gibby gave me a card and that was all I needed. So the rumbling started and a few of the kids started making cards. So one by one the students starting passing their class made cards to my desk. Gary Peck drew a Pizza with pepperonis on it depicting my acne marked face, there were a few other cards with similar jabs from some of the other boys. It wasn’t until everyone gave me a card that we were able to eat our cupcake treats.
Class was over and we were all making our way out the door. I wore something special that day, but I don’t remember what the outfit was. As we were all filing out the door I grabbed all my home made cards from my paper bag and tossed them in the trash can on my exit! Ms Tracy saw what I did and went Ape Shit! She grabbed me by the neck and called me an ungrateful.
I ended up having to stay after class and write some non-sense on the chalk board for about 30 minutes. Once I finally made it home I opened my cards, I started with Mabel’s card. Mabel wrote a lil paragraph about how we had been best friends since Kindergarten and that we’ve been through a lot together! I then opened up Gibby’s card; I was hoping for a long note as well. All he wrote was Gibby, in 5th grade style cholo script. I held on to that card for a long time. When I finally moved this last time I found the card, I threw it out and then dug it back out, so it’s in storage somewhere with a bunch of other junk.
So there you have it my Crenshaw Rose. A Valentine’s Day to remember.
Azteca Warrior
p.s. my Valentine didn’t have time to get me anything, so I will buy myself a hot piece of ass!

SIE SIND HERZLICH EINGELADEN
Ms. Berlinale International Film Fest is back in Berlin, and yes it is exciting. Too bad “I´ve got flu” as they say in England. Before venturing to my first screening I had a sweet little get together with some of my NYU art students who are taking part in the NYU/Humboldt Berlin exchange program. Sweet little 22 year Alex and his 20 year old roommate Sam came by The Cheese Endique Trifecta Studio and we had a lovely time. Alex had helped me in New York with my big installation at Participant Inc. Gallery.
Now to my first screening-Making The Boys a documentary about Mart Crowley and his stage play and film The Boys in the Band. The film The Boys in the Band directed by William Friedkin(The Exorcist) is one of my all time favs. The documentary was a pretty standard talking heads vehicle, there was some excellent footage of young Mart Crowley in the 1960s at a Malibu Beach Party hosted by Roddy McDowell featuring the crème de la . . .A stunning Sal Mineo and a juicy Ms. Judy Garland among other luminaries. And a peak from a TV pilot that Bette Davis did produced by Dominik Dunne. I didn’t know about Crowley´s relationship with Natalie Wood and her faggot husband Robert Wagner.
I thought I had an irritating gay accent, but the films director Crawton Robey really takes the pie´s cake, plus he comes off as a total industry queen---yikes. His name is certainly appropriate because the lady is a Craw.
Was sitting in the theatre snuggled between two hotties, German film ingenue David Cross who has huge hands and feet, and American film star James Franko who seems to be obsessed with all things queer. Franko has two short films in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and stars as Alan Ginsburg in Howl.
Was so happy I got a chance to see The Lights of Asakusa by Japanese director Shimazu Yasujiro from 1937. The Forum will be showing quite a few of his 30s output and I want to see them all.
Usually Berlinale parties are quite dull, but the one held for experimental film great Wilhelm Hein who won the 2010 Manfred Salzgeber Preis was fantastic! A wonderful buffet, flowing drinks and a cute and cuddly crowd that included The CHEAP gang with fearless leader Susanne Sachsse, film historian Marc Siegel, Tim& kJohnny Blue. Great seeing Beatrice “Trixie” Cordua, Vassily Bourikas and Cheryl Dunye and her Parliament Film Collective which also includes lovesexy Candi Guterres, my production designer for Platinum Oasis back in 2002. Candi is major talent and has taken care of the design for Cheryl´s new film The Owls which features everyones favourite party girl Guinevere Turner. The Berlinale world premiere of The Owls is Thur Feb 18th 8pm at the Cinemaxx 7. Can´t wait to see it!

ERHALTEN SIE DIE LETZEN
Saturday Tim Blue cooked me a ferocious meal at his Neu Kölln paddy cake. Mr. Blue sure knows his way around a kitchenetta. Later we were joined by his younger brother kJohnny, who works part time as a bartender at the east side touristrappen White Trash Au GoGo and then we all headed straight to the Wilhelm Hein exhibition "Es gibt kein Bier in Hawaii"at the Fischer & Fischer Gallery. Wilhelm Hein is one of my favorite Berlin artists. He is also the ultimate authority when it comes to experimental film. His paintings are deliciously lovesexy—just like Herr Hein himself, and the videoinstallation of collapsing TV monitors was equally delightful. Was feeling a bit run down from all the ice cold weathervale so i called it an early Golden bird chicken night.

That darling Love Camel, Andrea Novarin had sent me a movie I had been wanting to see for ages. The 1983 James Bridges film Mike´s Murder starring Debra Winger. The movies theatrical release was extremely short lived, which is a shame because the flicker has a quality unlike any other movie. Ms. Winger´s performance is extremely subtle, so subtle is seems like she is doing nothing, but it is all in her eyes and her body which morphs from boyish to feminine. The film also captures a certain kind of LA sleepy fever. A way that LA was in the late 70s and early 80s which was such a part of my youth. It is hard to explain. What is really fascinating about this film is that it is based on a true story of a relationship that a woman i worked with had with a young hustler/tennis bum who hung out in the Santa Monica/West LA area. A little bit of this is captured in Mike´s Murder through the Betty Parrish character played by Ms. Winger who portrays a bank officer living in Brentwood. The actual Betty Parrish was named Kathy Lovell and we worked together in Santa Monica at an insurance investigating firm called Equifax. Equifax is still around but they do mostly credit checks now. Kathy had a brief affair with a sexy young hustler boy that wound up getting killed because of some drug related nonsense. The movie follows the details of the true story almost too well, at least the details that i remember. This was over 30 years ago when the incident happened. I don´t remember how James Bridges got ahold of the story, but Debra Winger really captured a quality of Kathy who was a good time Sally of a blondine. The movie also features my friend Mari Sol and Spaz Attack, who was the sexy punk boyfriend of Toni Basil who sang the song, „Oh Mickey You´re So Fine, You´re So Fine You Blow My Mind . . .“
And Paul Winfield is in the movie wearing a caftan as a black gay record producer who has kept the boy toy in question. That reveal scene is classic.

Here´s some gossip that most people don´t know: Dave Matthews of the bland rock band The Dave Matthews Band is a card carrying homeysexual. If that isnt enough he is also a major dinge queen. Don´t tell me you´re not familar with the term dinge queen. Well i will tell you, a dinge queen is a white guy who only likes to have sex with black men. There now, don´t act like i never told you nothing.

ZERSTÖREN COMMUNITY-PORTALE DIE SZENE?
Judy La Bruce and Anna Muelter of HAU threw a bad breast dinner at the yummy Kreuzberg bistro Gino´s. La Bruce regaled BB cast members with stories about his recent trip to Paris where he interviewed the Kaiser of high fashion Karl Lagerfeld for Vice Magazine. Vice has gone super corporate and upscale under editor Jesse Pearson who use to be a junior editor with Index Magazine when I was a regular contributing editor for that downtown NY rag under the auspices of the wonderful Bob Nickas. I always thought young Jesse was super cute with his lanky rabbit rooted big dicque arrogance, and sloopy junky/hustler manner.
Herr Lagerfeld and BLAB got along quite well so I´m anxious to read the article which will hit the stands in April under the subtitle: A Coupla Elderly White Chix Sitting Around Talking.
At the Ginos table a lot of juicy tongue wagging with the talented Jeanine of PlanningtoRock who just performed at the Transmediale Festival, humpy Senol Senturkk who is busy working on designing Berlinale installations, lovely Lisa Schmidt and the beautiful Susanne Sachsse. Sitting near our klatch was Hearst International Fashion scribe Suzy Menkes chowing down on a slab of lamb with a gaggle of faggot assistants.
The next evening John Heys, Marc Siegel and Frau Sachsse curated and hosted an enchanting and hilarious Evening for Superstar Taylor Mead at Arsenal Institute für Film und Video Kunst. The 85 year old Mr. Mead is an underground treasure trove of wisdom and moxy, still going strong living in his tiny cluttered Ludlow flat on the lower east side of Man!hattan. Actor and fellow downtown New York luminary John Heys is one of Mead´s dearest friends and led the curatorial team in spontaneous readings of Mead´s incredible poetry and prose texts with music and zany, whimsical surprises including the 2005 documentary Excavating Taylor Mead by William A. Kirkley. Seen enjoying this special tribute Mead´s number one fan, German experimental guru Wilhelm Hein, feminist filmmaker Evelyn Rüssler,Daniel Hendrickson the translator to the shtars, musical siblings Tim & Kjohnny Blue and Susanne Sachsse´s beautiful 16 year old twins Salome & Richard Gershe who were on their winter break from high school. I love the Gershe twins like they came out of my own womb. Both of them could be supermodels or teenage acting superstars, and would be much more interesting on TV or in the movies then the Jonas Bros or Hannah Montana. It was great to hear that their best friend Jakob who is in the US as an exchange student was able to free himself from a crazy uber fundamentalist religious family and transfer to a secular clan where he will be living until June. With Jacobs sweet demeanor I am sure he will meet lots of American girls who will go wild for a pretty & sexy German boy from Berlin.

Had a wonderous time rehearsing for a new film project with the dynamic art filmmaking duo of Pauline Beaudry and Renate Lorenz. Pauline is a stunning Swiss/French beauty and musician who had a major following with her band Rhythm King and Friends. Renate is a handsome and intelligent butch. Their filmic aesthetic is similar to mine, and we spent a few jubilant hours working in the morning and late in the afternoon at the studio of vivacious and talented Spanish dancer/choreographer Arantxa Martinez who will be performing in this upcoming film in the s tyle of Jane Avril a dancer from the 1890s and turn of the last century. The Vagimule Davis creature will be interpreting the movements of great Black vaudeville star Aida Overton Walker. More on this as it develops.

In the evening little Tele´macos Alexiou of the Chocolate Grinder Film kollective hosted a saturnal feast at his Mehringdamn compound to celebrate his experimental short A Dream of Norma being accepted into the Forum Expanded section of the 60th Berlinale Film Festival. I star in the film as a deluded R&B singer in the mode of Etta James or Whitney Houston. The flicker will screen everday at 4pm at the Temporäre Kunsthalle Schlossplatz in Auto Kinoi by Phil Colllins starting Feb 11th until Feb 21st. After dinner we watched Sweet Charity directed by Bob Fosse starring Shirley MacLaine, Sammy Davis Jr., Ben-Vereen, Chita Riviera and Pauly Kelly. I hadn´t seen the movie in over 25 years, and love i ts Fossesque razzle/dazzle. I use to hate this film, but somehow it has grown on me and I adore it. So much fun hanging with the Choc Grind rock steady crew of little Alex, Julian Radlmaier, and Mourning Becomes Elektra. Little Alex´s Israeli boyfriend Assaf Hochman and Anna Muelter were also part of the frivolilty.

If he ever comes through Berlin for a visit, I will have to give him a tongue bath from head-to-toe YUMMY!

Dear Friends,
This is the first mail from Clarke Gallery this year – so although we are (finally!) in February, Happy New Year!
The first Clarke Gallery show of 2010 opens on 13th March. Put it in your diaries. It’s a group show. The invite will be sent out in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile:
Christian is currently leading a workshop with schoolchildren in Dresden, organised by Kunsthaus Dresden. In August he’ll take part in a group show in Belgrade. He’ll also have another solo show at Clarke Gallery this year.
Elly is a recipient of the Goldrausch Kunstlerinnen IT 2010 Stipendium – and the next exhibition is with all the others on this program. Her exhibition ‘Some Places I have Been To’ continues at Melusine and next week, on Friday 12th February Elly’s participatory photo & video project ‘Moscow to Beijing’ opens at Center for Endless Progess (invite attached).
And... not so great: on 16th December Elly’s Leica was stolen from a bar in Kreuzberg. She had the camera for 6 years and travelled pretty much the world with it. Her insurance had just run out. To raise cash to buy a new one, she’s about to launch an Alternative Funding Project - selling signed Single Edition 6”x4” prints via Flickr for 35 Euros each. The link will be sent in due course – but please get in touch if you’d like to be one of the first to know about it.
Vicky curated and has work in 'Collect': a paper based exhibition featuring artists from around the UK. The show runs until 10th Feb at Westgate Studios, 55 Westgate, Wakefield, UK. Click here for more info. Plus, Axisweb.org have just made a film of Vicky talking about this show. You’ll be able to see this featured on Axisweb later this week. Otherwise Vicky is in a group show at The Rag Factory on Hanbury Street, London, called 'Danger: An Exhibition'. It opens on the 4th March, runs till 7th March. And meanwhile she’s on a residency at lumen.
Alexander is getting his website built by James Hurst, who did Antony Gormley’s site. He has also been putting in some all-night shift work painting gold leaf on ceilings in the Carlton club in London, which he describes as ‘hard core but fun.’ Meanwhile he’s waiting on news from several residency/post grad applications…
And finally, you can see photos from Liz’s December show COME here.
See you on 13th March if not sooner!

MADONNA HAS A WELL ORGANIZED PUSSY
Thus quoteth international film star Udo Kier when i asked him about working with the pop star in her Sex Book from the 1990s. We were in Blimy Birmingham England and i was curating the first Visions of Excess, and the philosophy of Gifts endurance art spectacular that was part of the Fierce Festival with Ron Athey, way back in 2004. I don´t know why Mr. Kier is in my thoughts lately, but he is. Udo and his black lover, whose name i forget. Udo owns a nice compound in Silverlake that he shares with his dinge companion, and he also has a mid century get-away house in palm springs that use to be a library. I was told that he still owns a flat in Berlin, but i was under the impression he got rid of it years ago.
Anyway I just got together with artist, filmmaker and musician Tim Blue at his pristine flat in Neu Kölln. Tim cooked a sumpteous feast for me. Its been months since I´ve spent any time with Tim who has been busy traveling with Irish artist and filmmaker Paul Rowley working on their new rationalist structure architecture film The Rooms which he gave me a sneak preview of. I really liked the movie, though i thought it was just a tad long. It reminded me of the 1964 Jean Paul Belmondo film l´Homme de Rio which features grand shots of Oscar Niemeyer´s Brasilia buildings.
Friday i went to the Bruce La Bruce opening at Peres Projects. La Judy was showing some silk screen Warholian prints of blue movie god Francois Sagan sagat and also previewing his new film LA Zombie-The movie that would not Die that also stars Mr. Sagat as a creature from benearth the sea whose mission is to fuck the dead back to life. The film looks incredible, and i even got nostalgic for a minute seeing my former hometown of Los Angeles. Plus there are cameos in the film by Tony Ward, who starred in Hustler White, and my favorite Hollywood eatery Ms. Donut on Melrose and HIghland Avenue.

NAME Readymade
Art Laboratory Berlin
Prinzenallee 34, 13359 Berlin
http://www.artlaboratory-berlin.org
Art Laboratory Berlin, in collaboration with Aksioma - Institute for Contemporay Art, Ljubljana, is glad to invite you to NAME Readymade, the performative presentation of Janez Janša. The event will present the act of "name changing" perpetrated by three Slovenian artists who in 2007 officially, with all the required papers and stamps, changed their names to the then prime minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša (2004-08). All Janez Jansas' works, their private and public affairs, in a word their whole life, has been conducted under this name ever since.
"When the three artists changed their names to Janez Janša, they in fact adopted a critical stand to the state. To the Slovene government, in which until recently all posts seemed occupied as it were by a single person - Janez Janša. [...] Through the multiplication of Janez Janša's name, the function of the prime minister has assumed, within this specific artistic action, a similar position as the Campbell soup cans in Andy Warhol's works." (Zdenka Badovinac, Name Readymade, October 2008)
Janez Janša will take us through a series of artistic, political, administrative and media oriented actions performed by himself together with Janez Janša and Janez Janša, with a particular focus on their latest personal exhibition entitled NAME Readymade. Works exhibited in this show (valid ID cards, passports, credit and bank cards, driving licences, birth and marriage certificates, and so on) were generated by reality itself.
Janez Janša, Janez Janša and Janez Janša cut right through the midst of their own realities, using procedures typical for art - transformation, translation, representation and mimicry. They turned around the classical relational scheme between art and life as it was developed in the 20th century. Art in the previous century was defined by way of reality entering into artistic contexts without mediation (Badiou defines the 20th century as the 'passion for the real'), while Janša, Janša and Janša want to achieve the opposite, so that their methods cut deeply into their material lives and the lives of their immediate surroundings.
This event will take place in the context of the ongoing exhibtion Creative Rights. On Appropriation, Copyright and Copyleft (until 7.2.) which can be seen on 3 February from 6pm before and after the presentation.
Production: Aksioma - Institute for Contemporary Art and the steirischer herbst Festival in collaboration with Maska and Moderna galerija Ljubljana.

Oh and Marc Siegel of CHEAP kollective sent me this missive today that i will pass on to you.
Hello CHEAP Friends,
This Thursday February 4 2010 we should all meet at the Arsenal cinema at 7
pm to celebrate the first star of American underground cinema, Taylor Mead.
(Mario was the first drag superstar, Taylor the first starwe CHEAPies are
not embarrassed to love our stars.) No, thankfully, Taylor did not die. But
we just thought it's high time this inimitable 85 year old beat poet and
hilarious movie star received some attention. Actually, our friend John Heys
thought so. John is in regular contact with Taylor who he knows from his
days in the New York Lower East side gay and theater scene. Ever since John
got a copy of the documentary called EXCAVATING TAYLOR MEAD (2005) he has
been set on organizing an evening for Taylor. John enlisted the help of
Susanne Sachsse and me and garned the support of the trusty Arsenal and alas
"The Movies Are a Revolution: An Evening for Taylor Mead" was born. Nobody's
got no money and we ain't go no fancy technology, so we couldn't bring in
Taylor or even bring in mayn of his over 100 films. But we do have a nice
evening of readings, some unexpected images, including a rare screening of
Gary Goldberg's PLATES (1990) starring Taylor and Bill Rice, and the
documentary to offer you! A great way to learn something about this seminal
figure in American underground film and theater and who knows maybe the
first of many Taylor Mead evenings to come!
(below you find the text that appears on the facebook page for the evening
with some description of the various videos/films to be shown).
Hope to see you there
Best,
Marc
An Evening for Taylor Mead - Thursday 4th February 2010
Arsenal - Institute for Film and Video Art
Thursday, February 4, 2010
7:00pm - 10:00pm
Potsdamer Straße 2, 10785 Berlin
85 year-old Taylor Mead is the first superstar of the American underground.
Since 1960 he has appeared in over 100 films, including over 15 by Andy
Warhol. Mead is also a poet, filmmaker and stage actor of great acclaim:
bitchy, endearing, acerbic, anecdotal and jaw-droppingly indiscreet, Mead
is very much one of a kind. (Neil Young)
To pay homage to this exceptional talent, Mead's friend John Heys, with
Susanne Sachsse and Marc Siegel, has prepared a fittingly exceptional
evening including a documentary about Mead; film surprises; and readings
from Mead's poetry and essays.
Program
EXCAVATING TAYLOR MEAD William A. Kirkley USA 2005 OF 88
EXCAVATING TAYLOR MEAD is the story of one s man s journey and struggle
for survival in America s independent film and art community. Known
primarily in the inner circles of New York s art historians and followers
of Warhol, Mead s resume demonstrates how he may be one of underground film
s most prolific yet overlooked artists.
Filmed over a four-year period and spanning nearly eight decades, we follow
Taylors s eviction from his lower east side apartment to co-starring in Jim
Jarmusch s Coffe and Cigarettes. Filtered through his life choices,
EXCAVATING TAYLOR MEAD is an endearing character study of someone who has
lived an unique artistic path. Best put by Taylor, It s the opposite end
of the Robert Evans spectrum .
Featuring many clips from the early independent film movement including
never before seen Warhol shootage, EXCAVATING TAYLOR MEAD considers the fate
of those who helped bring about the new American cinema of the 1960 s and
raises questions as to the sacrifice we make for art.
GLAMOUR, GLORY & GOLD USA 1988 (in extracts)
Extracts from an exclusive documentation of an event held in NYC dedicated
to Warhol superstar Jackie Curtis. Taylor Mead directed a reading of
Curtis's celebrated play and appears on stage alongside Penny Arcade,
Warhol¼s superstar Ondine and John Heys (who organized this program at
Arsenal)
PLATES Gary Goldberg USA 1990 11
with Taylor Mead und Bill Rice
In the early 1990s Goldberg produced a series of Beckettian short films
featuring Taylor Mead and Bill Rice. They are amazing as well as light and
profound comedies.
Texts by Taylor Mead, read by John Heys, Susanne Sachsse and Marc Siegel,
will be added to the film program. There will be drinks during the breaks.
CHEAP congratulates our own incorrigible friend WILHELM HEIN, winner of the
Manfred Salzgeber Preis 2010, presented during the Berlinale. For
information see: www.manfred-salzgeber.org/preis.html
(zur Info: obwohl ich ein Fan, Freund, und Unterstützer von Wilhelm bin und
bleibe, habe ich nicht gesagt was mir auf der Salzgeber Website
zugeschrieben worden ist. Na ja...)
You all have a chance to congratulate Wilhelm personally at the opening for
a rare show of his paintings in the exhibition "Es gibt kein Bier in Hawaii"
on Saturday, Feb. 6 2010 at 7 pm at Fischer&Fischer Gallery Straßburgerplatz
18
AND I forgot to recommend Bruce LaBruce's show at Peres Projects, Berlin,
"LA Zombie: The Movie That Would Not Die" on view until April 24 2010, a
rare chance to see BLAB's latest film, L.A.Zombie starring the adorable
Francois "Piero on steroids" Sagat, who was wowing all at the opening with
free feels of his muscular goldstück.

This event will take place in the context of the ongoing exhibtion Creative Rights. On Appropriation, Copyright and Copyleft (until 7.2.) which can be seen on 3 February from 6pm before and after the presentation.

THE GOTH FROM IMPENEMA
So my guilty pleasure was going to see the hit blockboster 3-D film Gayvatar directed by James CamerOCTOROON.Having seen the previews months ago i was expecting to hate the movie. CGI seems too cartoonish for me,and i don´t go to the cinema to play engorged versions of Ms. Packman or DonkeyKong. The technology world in this flicker wasn´t always so convincing, but for the most part i did enjoy the depiction of forest and fauna on Planet Pandora´s Box.
I wanted more of mack mama Sigourney Weaver looking so pert in her henna curled bob, and that glorious diesel Michele Rodriguez. Yes I admit i am a daghag. Relunctantly i have to admit that male ingenue Sam Worthington is one nice slab of USDA American choice thrombone, playing the doe-eyed jarhead, but when he was transformed into the lithe pony tail queen i wanted to groan.
*
The new year of 2010 is turning out to be as work laden as 2009.I am booked solidly until mid 2011,and will be going from project to project with absolutely no room for breathing.Hey! I guess its better then being unemployed.
Thursday i Djaned the after party for artist Keren Cytter´s rock block of presentations at HAU3. Performer/Audience/Mirror based on a piece by Dan Graham from the 1970s was short & sweet, just how i like my performance art, with knockout performances by CHEAP´s fearless leader Susanne Sachsse who is stunning in looks and superlative in seductive voice and manner. Frau Sachsse could make the reading of the phone book compelling. Partnering La Sachsse perfectly the dashing young German actor Knut Berger who shouldn´t have been allowed onstage with his street clothes. This royal prinzin should only appear in the nude.
Next up was The True Story of John Webber and His Endless Struggle with the Table of Contents, that features the Keren Cytter D.I.E.Now Dance Theatre of Verona.I kept thinking of the 1970s film Who is Sheila Levine and Why is she Saying Those Horrible Things About me? In fact when it comes to the pretty Israeli tomboy Ms. Cytter I am awash with images of Elaine May´s daughter Jeannie Berlin who starred in The Heartbreak Kid or Melanie Mayron in Girlfriends.
The ladies in the cast Dafna Maimon and Susie Meyer held me spellbound. Andrew Kerton really knows how to work that charming British accent of his, and the lanky high cheekboned and smoldering Luc van Esch was very yowzina!
Seen dancing at the afterparty at WAU cafe Susanne Sachsse and film historian beau Marc Siegel, Tim Blue back from filming his new feature in New York, Daniel Hendrickson, members of Fight Club, a preggers and glowing Maike Harmsen & Stefanie Wenner, sweet Rahel Häseler, Anna Muelter, Christophe Gurk and the beauty of HAU Katrin Dod.

The first Rising Stars, Falling Stars of 2010 at Arsenal Institute für Film und Videokunst was regally post Fordist with a salute to Danish silent great Asta Nielsen in Erdgeist 1923. Eunice Martin provided the luxuriant musical score on klavier as an unexpected large crowd took over Kino 2. With the freezing temperatures outside, no one was predicting such a stellar turnout, so after the screening everyone was feeling frisky slurping down Blue Caracoa and Grune Witwe´s the fav libation of Ms. Nielsen. Seen huddled together for warmth Arsenal Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus with her Forum Expanded team of Miss Bettina, Nanna Heidenreich and beauty boy Ulrich Ziemons. Also looking lovely Frau Susanne Sachsse with dapper film historian Marc Siegel, Tim Blue, Djane Olga Damnitz, assorted Danes, Spaniards from Barcelona, Flems and the Dutch plus lovely art photog Elly Clark with beautiful British ginger Ms. Sophia of live art troupe Plan B whose gorgeous daughter Ruby brought delicious presents for hostess Vaginal Davis. Looking very Darwinian actor Paul Bettany(Creation), journalist Daniel Mufson, sängerin Nena and actress Corolla Regnier the grandaughter of Frank Wedekind who wrote Erdgeist and Die Buchse der Pandora.

S&M SHANTY´S/TESTOSTERON HYMNEN
Celebrities always die in threes. Such was the case this past week with the deaths of French New Wave director Eric Rohmer, Art Clokey the creator of that lil green slab of clay Gumby, and R&B Heavyweight crooner Teddy Pendergrass. Pendergrass got his start first as a drummer, then lead singer of Philadelphia International soul group Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. By the mid 70s he had a solo career with his ladies only concerts. In 1982 Mr. Pendergrass became a paraplegic after a car accident. Its funny that in the obits on the radio and online, there was no mention of the tranny girl who was injured in the accident with him. The rumour in urban circles was that Teddy loved his chix with dix.
Friday at Search & Destroy rock club Judy La Bruce, and the Vagimule Doll hosted and DJaned a neurotic/erotic party till the bitter wee hours, and Teddy Pendergrass´s tranny loving spirit was watching over everyone. Ms. LaBruce is back in Berlina for her big art opening at Peres Projects Gallery on Jan 30th where she will preview a rough cut of her new LA Zombie flick that stars the steroid French blue movie studkin Francois Segat who will also be in attendance. All the bearded lady fags will all want to bury their faces in Mdm. Segat´s bodacious bubble buttkin.
A juicy gaggle of celebutants danced and pranced at Search & Destroy at the legendary Schwuz club at Mehringdamn. The New Yorker Magazines star staff writer Hilton Als looking dapper with his look-a-like posse in tow. The magnificent Mr. Als was just in Berlin for the weekend, but will be back in full glory in April reporting on all things teutonic throughout the Spring & Summer, so watch out world!
Swedish designer Lars Nilsson and Spanish coutourier Josep Font were having a hairy thyroid eyeball nigger fit over hunky experimental filmmaker Alejandro Duran, who was out with pretty Otto:Up With Dead People star Katherina Klewinghaus. Seen outrageously flirting: French director Olivier Assayas who was enthralled with Pork Club´s Tennessee Clafin, the performance artist/concubine to A-list Hollywood directors Bryan Singer & Gus Van Sant. Making everyone blush with his young boy beauty, the Slovakian artist Mario Dzurila, while intermedia actress Susanne Sachsse was chit chatting with Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras and his muscular beau Enrico Dallman. Ms. Sachsse will star in Keren Cytter´s new piece that premieres Thursday at HAU 3. The Lady Ms. D will Djane the after party at WAU Cafe so stop by why dontcha? Ms.Cytter and her music curator lover Christoph Gurk were smooching to Jonathan Fireater´s „A Love Like That“ while the wildest dancing was being led by film historian Marc Siegel, musician kJohnny Blue with socialite Aaston Brooks, Anna Muelter, artist Dean Sameshima, and Flemish royal Koen Claerhouten. Sissi Magazines Toby Rauscher removed his jock strap and got all the boys to start doing helicopters with their genitals. Not to be undone a group of lesbianas started taking off their sports bras as LaBruce played music from Godspell. Looking ultra glam video artist Liz Rosenfeld with British live artist Richard James Hancock and juicy Gunnar Neumann. Everyones favorite good time Sally--- Mauro the Italian art critic was giving limousine lap dances to birthday boy Daniel Hendrickson, and his partner Piero Bellomo of La Collezione while watching all the action was Pablo&Vincent of Paris, male movie ingenue Justin Bartha, Greek curator Marga, Torsten & Cigdem of bbooks, Guillaume Airiaud and Der Spiegel writer Felix Knoke.

Sunday it was Ladies Day for CHEAP´s fearless leader Susanne Sachsse and Ms. Davis as they brunched royally at the Schoenbrunn Restaurant in Volkspark Friedrichshain. The two pretty women are planning on performing together again as sisters, this time as famous sibling rivals Joan Fontaine and Olivia DeHavilland with sets & costumes by Serbian talent Nebuschar.

Monday evening Marc Siegel and I went to the Arsenal Institut für Film und Video Kunst to see the wonderful short films curated by one of my former Weissensee students Beate Rathke aka: Justin Tyme. All the movies screened were exceptional, and that is something rare for a shorts program. What i liked best was the playful, whimsical nature of all the films. Usually in Germany nothing is taken seriously unless it is dry and dour. Seeing these shorts gives me hope that some new movement is on the rise in Germania.
We had to leave during the break to make it to bbooks for a lecture series hosted by Tim Stuttken that featured as a guest Tavia Nyongo, the Kenyan performance studies scholar from NYU who has been living in Berlin for the last few months on a fellowship. I first met Mr. Nyongo years ago through his collegue Professor Jose Munoz. The serene Mr. Nyongo gave an insightful talk on the oh so currant topic of Freaky. I loved how he wove the controversy about the South African Personal Best athlete Caster in with the Lee Daniels film Precious based on the book by Saphire. Last year all these tired pundits were attacking this strapping African woman Caster, and calling her a man-dinga!, but no one was criticizing in the same manner the big dique, webbed feet amphibian mota smoking tranny chasing Aqua Man gold medal winning swimmer Our Lady of the Perpetual Phelps.

EIN NÄCHTLICHER STREIFZUG
New decade, and like Ms. Patti LaBelle I´ve got a new attitude. Lund Universities Malmö Art Academy of Sweden has invited me to teach a block seminar in March.
The title of my class will be: Platinum Jungle–Screen Goddesses Caught Between Black&White
General Course Description-Jean Harlow, the literal whitest of white hot sex stars of 1930s Hollywood, pencil thin eyebrows, smoldering platinum über-blondine hair, skin and teeth. Josephine Baker, all legs, all ass, all the time, topped off by the ultimate Marcel wave, conquered Europe in the 1920s as the first international black superstar. At first glance these famous performers and their life trajectories couldn’t be more different. But appearances, as these women knew quite well, are often deceiving.
The influence of both stars can be felt to this day. Harlow’s image, despite her early death, has inspired numerous later performers and artists like Kenneth Anger and Andy Warhol. La Baker’s signature banana skirt became a ubiquitous image throughout the 20th century, even when it overshadowed its creator. What are the factors governing the reception of these two sex symbols in and out of the art world? What might they offer to performers and other visual artists today?
In this course we will look at some of the rare films of these two extraordinary women, as well as examples of their influence in order to probe their non-conventional and innovative gender, racial and aesthetic politics for our purposes today.
Later in March I´ll be flown to New York to perform as part of Columbia Universities Semiospectacular that is the brainchild of the gifted Phd student Mashinka Firunts, who use to be one of my Bricktops girls back in Los Angeles. I´ll also be returning to my favorite stomping grounds of NYU thanks to Nancy Barton who is the chair of the Arts Professionals Dept. Not to leave New Jersey out of the equation, Professor Ricardo Montez will be inviting me to Princeton, and the students of Hampshire College in Massachutts ganged up on the administration to bring me to their tiny campus as well, so watch out Academia a giant black queen is running loose and rampant in your ranks.
It is cold, very cold in Berlin. The enchantment of snow has worn thin. The sidewalks are frozen and slippery so its very dangerous to simply walk about.
Thank Jehovah of Armies for Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras and Anna Muelter of HAU. The dynamic duo roused me from my new year depression and took me to dinner at this yumsty vegan restaurant in Mehringdamn. Joel also invited me to his huge compound in Neu Kölln for some homemade soup plantation. Its great feeling social again. I went to Uli Ziemons 28th birthday celebration in Kreuzberg. Uli is the best looking young man in all of Europa. He is tall, dark and very, very handsome. His soiree was held at the Champagneria Umtrunk located on Falckenstein Str. Its a very cute place, that use to be someones flat now turned into a bar/lounge for the twentysomething set. The crowd was fresh and friendly, which isn´t the usual fare in Berlin. Strangers actually were chit chatting with each other and several joined in on our groups conversation. Helping to celebrate the birth of the beauty boy: the Arsenal gang lead by Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, her right hand gal Nanna Heidenreich of Arsenal Experimental with girlfriend DJane Olga Damnitz, Bettina the Sandy Dennis Döppleganger who is curating Forum Expanded, Nadja Talmi, French cupcake Giuamme and his wife, Mourning Becomes Elektra of The Chocolate Grinder Kollective, Daniel Hendrickson and handsome fashion designer beau Piero Bellomo of la Collezione. Also seen in the room white girl rapper Invincible with Hollywood male ingenue Hunter Parrish.
Sunday the legendary experimental film guru Wilhelm Hein hosted a super dinner party at his Kali Films studio. You never know who you will meet at one of his feasts. Wilhelm and his art photog girlfriend Annette Frick know some of the most fascinating people in the world. Its hard to believe that Wilhelm will be turning 70soon, he has one of the most youthful spirits of anyone i know, and is randy & lovesexy like a teenage boy. At the Hein rectangular dinner table: Julia Pfeiffer and Roseline Rannoch of Montgomery Gallery, troubador Mad Angus, goodlooking hunk Ossip Sieverding, Paul the Irish curator for the Rotterdamn Film Festival and his girlfriend, plus Austrian poetess Sissy Text. Will update with all the names of the guests and also the name and date of the Gallery that Wilhelm will have an exhibit at on Feb 6th so check back to this blog a little later.

LETTER FROM HOME
One of my old LA pals is a complete wang dang doodle of a voracious hornpig. He is always having sextulant adventures. Here is the first tale of a promised two. Hope you enjoy them as much as i did. Its certainly helped pick me up from my beginning of the new decade melancholia.
Dear Ms. Davis
This story starts at Trader Joe's in Lago de Plata. I walk into the store and I immediately see this curly haired cutie pie that looks like a young Federico Aubele, the Venezuelan singer. He is standing in the produce section wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and some gym shorts. He is tall and slim. He noticed my Cornelius look and gave me a Huge smile, the smile was almost too big for his face. I raise an eyebrow and make way through the store.
I get to the next aisle and he is there as well, this time I can clearly see that he is Freeballing at TJ's. Freeballing is all the rage for L.A. Fags! He smiles and continues shopping. On the third aisle he sees me and squats down to see some items, his legs spread with one knee on the floor. I look down and see that he is exposing his entire crotch with a semi hard-on! I look around and tell him, Boy u are going to get busted! He grins and laughs. We both move on and make our way to the register.
Outside he loads up his car and walks to my car with this huge smile and asks if I have time to stop by his place which is on Rowena. I agree on the spot. I walk into a sparse apt with books all over the place, he drops to his knees and starts unbuckling my pants and the sucking begins. He was a very good and hungry cocksucker. He takes my load partially in his mouth and some on his face.
We get dressed and we both make our way to our cars, he’s off to the gym and I’m going home.I tell him, you've got cum on u´r face, he smiles and tells me he likes it that way.
At the door of my car he asks for my email and invites me to a Bukkake party.
That Sunday night I agree to go to his party. It’s in Hollywood on one of those lil streets u`d never know existed. I get there at the given time. I am welcomed by an older man, about 70 yrs old or so. He offers me water and to have a seat, I thought it was very odd.The hottie who invited me walks out in a jock strap, he shows me the big couch for me to sit after he strips me naked. Now he is nude, and starts to suck on me. Within about 10 min or so about 8 guys show appear out of nowhere. All but one guy strip down and starts masturbating. I'm the only one getting sucked by the hottie. I thought it was strange, that none of the guests got into each other. There was a hot shaved head Latin guy with a nice big thick Chorizo, the other dudes were White. While the circle jerk was going on, the old man was in the living room sitting on the opposite side of the room shopping on the Wal-Mart website with his laptop.
So I’m getting sucked, I’m getting my chest squeezed, slapped, rubbed, my stomach was being man-handled by a few of the guests.Of the dudes there, 4 were really hot! The Latino had the biggest cock and like most big cocks,it never really got super hard. So there I was getting sucked for about 45 minutes or so when the boy signals to me that I can unload. That was the signal for all the circle jerk buds to start unloading. One by one, and a few at the same time started unloading on the boys face. I ended up just watching, fascinated by seeing these guys unload. It was very sexy and primal watching these guys work their dicks. The shaved head homie and I were the last ones to unload. Homey was having a hard time trying to unload, I started fondling his hot firm lean ass and playing with his hole. At that point he finally got hard and even bigger and thicker, it was a nice uncut rizo, he let out a fucking geyser of cum on the boys face and on his curly hair. By this time the cocksucker was covered in Cum. The cocksucker took my load in his mouth.
All this time Gramps continued to browse the Wal-Mart website.
We all got dressed and made our ways out the door. The cocksucker stood there smiling and licking the cum that was dripping around his mouth. The next morning I get an email from the cocksucker thanking me for my attendance. I asked if he enjoyed his evening, he said yes, he had not showered and made it to class that next morning. He tells me he gets turned on by the cum drying on his hair or face! Even if it’s globs of it.
So there you have, Silverlake residents at their finest.
Please feel free to send me your comments. I can´t wait for my friends next installment.

UNVERBINDLICHE PREISEMPFEHLUNG
Returned from tour with Bad Breastage with a sorrow filled case of depressionata. The Judy LaBruce piece where i play a voltive Nora Lange with Susanne Sachsse as Theda Lange was a big hit, so i should be feeling granada and not blue. I was so down in the depths on the 90th Floor that the thought of beating on a face for my holiday edition of Rising Stars, Falling Stars screening of The Perils of Pauline (1913) starring Pearl White seemed utterly impossible. But seeing the bright and happy faces of the Arsenal crew of Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, with right hand gal Nanna Heidenreich and the most beautiful boy in all Germania Uli Ziemons helped to lift my spirits, and what a raucaus evening it turned out to be in olde Postdamer Platz
Accompanying the film live was kJohnny Blue minus his brother Tim Blue, who is still in New York working on his new big film project financed by The Irish Government. Lovesexy kJohn was in fine form with his one man band musical assault. We decided to serve drinks after the first short subject, lubricating the audience a bit, and what a difference it made. Rising Stars became much more performative as the crowd began to interact with the film in ways I never imagined---talking back to the screen, shouting out comments, and providing their own spicy intertitles. It was like i was being transported to the World Theater on Hollywood Blvd in the early 1980s. The booze and kJohnny´s American co-workers from White Trash A-Go-Go encouraged the Germans to get in on the act, so what a hoot of a time was had at Kino 2 at Arsenal Institute für Film und Video Kunst. Joining in on the revelee: Ela, Aljosscha & Marietta from the bbooks kollective, Wilhelm Hein and art photog Annette Frick, Daniel Hendrickson the Scandanavian Muslim, the charming and prolific Berlin artist Isabell Spengler with the enchanting Antonia Beard aka Werner Hirsh, humpy Brazillian experimenal filmmaker Gustavo Jahn, Sandy Dennis doppelganger Bettina Steinbrugger of Forum Expanded, Agnes of Riga, Nadja Talmi who is now working at the Haus of World Cultures, pretty Djane Olga Damnitz and Edward Droste&Daniel Rossen from the New York band Grizzly Bear who after seeing Vaginal Davis´ film Memory Island from the Jack Smith! Live Film!event in October want the diva to direct one of their music videos.
CORRECTION CORRECTION!!!!!
Valerie Hillings, the Guggenheim curator was mistakenly identified as being at Rising Stars, Falling Stars on Tuesday Dec 22nd. Who was that patrician looking brittle brunette? If anyone knows send me an email. Sorry for the mistake, i usually don´t post a name without at least two different sources confirming who they are, as i never know who anyone is myself. When i am in drag i don´t wear my glasses, so unless i know someone personally i rely on others to tell me who´s who. I dont know Ms. Hillings, but she or one of her handlers were quick to email my webmaster Larry Bob that she was no where in the vicinity of my being. I always forget that more people read my blog then all the articles i wrote when i did journalism writing for The LA Weekly and Zoo Magazine put together. Please keep in mind this is a personality blog from an irreverent, outsider artist and drag queen, not a member of the fifth estate or a columnist with the New York Times. Kachew!!!

ZEITOUN
Just came back from Vienna on tour with The Bad Breastage. We did five shows at the Brut Theater, which is similar to the HAU in programming. Haiko Pfost is the main curator at Brut, and I have to admit he was on very good behavior, throwing us a lovely chicken breast & champagne premiere party. Bad Breast was a big success, there was even a Q&A with handsome Dr. Andrea Braidt of the Universität of Wien as moderaturin. I fell madly in love with one of the lovesexy tech boys at the theater named Mischa who was definitely the most gorgeous kid in the city, also cute and sweet was Vladislav Tchapanow who did our sound. All of Vienna was wrapped up in the house of Theda & Nora Lange. The hot celebs in the audience included: Ali Jenka of Gelitin with Robert Stein, the famed Dutch dance theater director, Simon Wasson from the hot London performance club Ducky Vauxhaul, the super dapper and vivacious Hans Scheirl who teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts, art photographer Mattias Hermann, incredible artist and bon vivant Jacob Lena Krieb with Marcos Hausleitner the famous Austrian unisex fashion designer with Haus of the Very Island who DJ’d with me at FM Queer party two years ago, celebrity chef Daniel Achilles, actress Nora Tschirner who is a huge Susanne Sachsse fanatic and teenage German actor David Kross who is crazy about all things Bruce La Bruce having watched Hustler White 78 times.

STÜRMISCHE HÖHEN
Last night was the final performance of The Bad Breast or The Strange Case of Theda Lange at HAU 2 in Berlin. What a great audience! They really came to enjoy themselves and have a good time. Some of the notables in the crowd: NYU Professor of Performance Studies Tavia Nyongo, German film director Rosa Von Praunheim, Sven Neumann, Marc Siegel, Daniel Hendrickson, Salome & Richard Gershe,Umit Benan, Bertrand Bordenave,Antoine Arnault, academic star Nicolas Luhmann, film producer Jurgen Bruning, Klaus Matthes, actor Constantine Berger, Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras and his beau Enrico Dallman who had to see BB a second time, and took me to a fabulous dinner to celebrate the run. Here are some more comments about the piece:
„Susanne Sachsse put in a tour de force--what a force of nature she is“
"great choreography and music" "loved the psychoanalytical world that was invoked in a very playful manner"
and some more personal notes from the former prima ballerina & her husband the experimental filmmaker and a dear tidbit from the visiting scholar:
---i just wanted to thank you for your wonderful performance---what a sweet- shocking character----really ludwig and i loved you! i thougt the piece was quite hilarious in parts my phantasies went high---but some parts especially in the first part were too explained for me-----love trixie und ludwig
Dear Ms. Davis,
I was tickled, poked, and prodded by your performance in the Bad
Breast last night! Melanie Klein really found her muse in your
unheimlich Dora doing the balloon-pop strip-tease to the tune of DJ
Dimitri from Paris' "A very stylish fille"!
I would love to get a photo or two of that performance for a lecture
I'm giving in January at Goldsmith's on the body between sexology and
the freak show. Was there someone officially documenting the show I
could contact?
Congrats on your thespian success and have a blast in Vienna!
xx

AMT EMPFIEHLT SCHÜLERN
My dearest darlings, i am sorry its taken me forever to write, but The Bad Breastage, the piece by Judy LaBruce that ends its successful run at the HAU 2 theatre in Berlin tonight, is physically draining, and after each performance i have to rush home and get right into bed. Tomorrow afternoon we zip off to Vienna, Austria for a 4 night stand at the Brut Theatre, so i hope to see all my Wien fans in the audience, if i don´t suffer a nervous collapse first.
Now for all the gossipy gossip and a list of who was seen drop kicking whom. At the premiera; long on the tooth German actress Nicolette Krebitz must have hated The Bad Breast, as she was spotted texting on her handy during the entire performance. The new Berlin power couple of Christoph Gurk and careerist artist suprema Keren Cytter were in smooch heaven at the after party which featured DJ sets by Judy LaBruce, Snax, and Tennessee Claffin aka: Baby Brian (Club Pork and Slum at Frankenstein 5000 nee Ficken 3000) the Mormen boy toy of choice to A-list Hollywood film directors Gus Van Sant and Bryan Singer. Also seen at the premiere: Frau Hildebrand aka: Dr. Feelgood the sexy Heilprakterin to the stars, with her silver fox husband, Angelika Wedde, costume and stage designer who worked with superstar Mario Montez while she was in Berlin for Jack Smith! Live Film! Handsome global editrix Manuela Kay and her lovesexy Hamburg joy girl Adachi, Pola Sieverding and her humpy medical student boyfriend, Sexy Sasha, Zwonko from Queer Zagreb Festival, Wieland Speck of the Panorama Section of the Berlinale, French chanteuse Zazie de Paris with Downtown New York legend John Heys, pop star Joel Gibb of the Hidden Cameras back from his North American tour with boyfriend Enrico Dallman, Wolfgang & Christina of Discoteka Flaming Star, the huge peniid Norweigian theater scandal director Vegard Vinge and his German bride Ida Müller, luscious Hanna Hurtzig of Mobile Academy, Cigdem, Alessio and Theodora of the bb books gang, Olof Dreijer from the Swedish band The Knife, who was getting all horndoggy over Bad Breast´s Spanish performer and filmmaker Alejandro Duran, Karen Dreijer Andersson Olof´s sister, choreographer Alex Rocolli, video artists Evelyn Rüssler and Liz Rosenfeld, Aussie performance artist Sarah Jane Norman, The Chocolate Grinder Film Kollective of Little Alex of Macedonia, Tasty Tim, Juicy Julian, & Mourning Becomes Elektra with Israeli dancer Assaf Hochman, Exile Gallery´s Christian Siekmier, Chloe Griffin, Julian Binet, Isabel Spengler, grande dame curator Clarissa Dalrymple with mens wear designer Adam Kimmel, artists Antonio Baird aka Werner Hirsh, the Arsenal Institute für Film und Video Kunst Krew of Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, Nanna Heidenreich, Uli Ziemons & Nadja Talmi, Lcavaliero of Spicy Tigers on Speed, prima ballerina Beatrice „Trixie“ Cordua, architects Jean Nouvel & David Chipperfield, art photog Annette Frick with experimental filmmaker and guru Wilhelm Hein, Lawrence Kilshaw the sweet British beau of Bad Breasts Nando Messias, dorky American writer Dave Eggars, and a slew of filmmakers who have suddenly become curious about crazy Canadian LaBruce like Casey and Van Neistat, Lynn Shelton & Mark Duplas of the American comedy Hump Day, German/Turkish Fatih Akin, Marco Kreuzpaintner, Christian Alvart, and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. I´m sure I´ve neglected some names, but i will have to add them later.
Some of the criticism of the Bad Breast was this:
„Its misogynist!“ „Its lazy!“ „Messy“ „Too much theory“ „Too little Theory“ „The relationship between the twin sisters played by Susanne Sachsse and Vaginal Davis wasn´t developed enough, the twin sister Nora shouldn´t have been one of the neurotic disorders . . . „There was no need for the son or the papparazi photographer, it should have been all about the three main female characters-Theda, Nora & Dr. Jocasta Joy, the analyst.“
So there you have it in a proverbial nutshell. Everyone has an opinion on this piece, and I thought CHEAP Blacky generated a lot of heated discussion.

LUXURIÖSER AUSSTATTUNG
Chocolate Grinder Film Kollective juicy boy Julian Radlmaier cooked a scrumpteous dinner at his cute Rykerstraße flat last night with assist from his pretty Russian gal pal Tatiana. The meal started off with French onion soup and drifted into gamba shrimp with bordello haute rice, vaulted garlic snippers, Crepe Kathleene for dessert and some rare Valuskan vino. Enjoying the feast Little Alexander the Great of Macedonia with painter Nicolas Pol and his handsome high cheekboned Gallic friend Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld the son of French Vogue editor Carine.

One of my all-time favorite people is the great Fayette Hauser. Fayette was one of San Francisco´s The Cockettes in the early 1970s. She moved back to Los Angeles in the late 70s/early 80s where she was the lead singer of the art band Interpol which had the underground hit song „The Girl Who Shot Andy Warhol“. She lived in New York for awhile working on Satuday Night Live, but returned to LA where she now works as a costume designer and collector. Larry Bob of Holy Titclamps sent me this link on Fayette who has a big museum show at the San Francisco Museum of Art.

Also when i mentioned the other day prolific artist Skot Armstrong and the Museum of Fun i didn´t leave a web address so you can check out what he does. Well i am rectifying that now so please go at it my darlings:

CHAMÄLEON VARIETE
Rehearsals for The Bad Breast, or the Strange Case of Theda Lange have been taxing. Thank god we move into HAU 2 until premiera on December 10th. The piece still needs a lot of fine tuning, but in all is looking quite good. Judy LaBruce just needs to focus, focus, focus. The production design and costumes by Marc Brandenburg (with assist from Senol Senturk and Hugo Schneider)are quite lovely, and Laurie Young, a Canadian dancer from the Sasha Waltz Company has created some fantastic movement, so the elements are all in place.
Last night i took part in Hannah Hurtzig´s Mobile Academy at HAU 1. Had a very nice time as a charismatic counselor. Was knackered from rehearsing earlier, luckily Frau Hurtzig was kind enough to limit my therapy session with the publicum to an hour. My first client was a very personable young woman, and we had quite a nice soulful chit-chat, and the second was the young artist and filmmaking sensation Isabel Spengler, one of Berlin´s premiere, prolific talents and also a professor at UDK Art School. Isabel and I talked about her 10 year relationship with an American painter, who she is actually legally married to, and we also discussed the brodaggio of a structuralist artist who has a current show at the KW in Mitte. It may seem like we swerved from the programmed topic of cooling down passion, but actually we were right on point.
Also part of the Mobile Academy was the Silhoutte film version of Artur Shnitzler´s La Ronde which featured the many interconnections of actress Susanne Sachsse and film historian Marc Siegel. The couplings in the film included Tim Blue,Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, Jennifer Doyle, Douglas Crimp, Daniel Hendrickson, Guy Maddin, Bruce LaBruce, Stephan Geene&Nico Siepen of bbooks collective, Christophe Chemin, Keren Cytter, Tan Binh Nguyen, Diedrich Diederichsen, Zazie de Paris, Wilhelm Hein, Adam Budak and Susanne´s gorgeous twins Salome & Richard Gersh. Everyone seemed to get quite the chuckle from my conversation on film with Tan Binh about sex & relationships.
I had a great time socializing during Mobile Academy in the bar area, and ran into The Chocolate Grinder Film Kollective: Juicy Julian, Little Alex, Mourning Becomes Elektra and Tasty Tim. Also got to flirt with the beauty of HAU Katrin Dodd, Flemish royal Koen Claerhout, Uli Ziemons, Nadja Talmi, Lisa Schmidt, Michel Belague, Ela of bb books, Amelie of Hamburg´s Kampnagel, pretty Frederike, the Stassi Spy of Daddy, Marc Siegel and Benjamin Foster-Boldenius and his perfect Gerber baby. Was surprised to run into singer Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes fame who was with the very goodlooking blondine German actor Matthias Schweighöfer. Are Mr. Schweighöfer and Mr. Oberst involved in a homosexual tryst, or is it merely an innocent bro-mance? O and I shared some wet juicy kisses with Alexandre Liot and Joe Corre of Agent Provocateur-----lecher!!!! I hope Mr. Corre´s mamma Vivienne Westwood doesn´t find out.

While I was in New York last month I read that my old paramour the talented French shoe designer Bernard Figueroa was going to design a new line of affordable footwear for Payless. M. Figueroa besides his own successful line of Jean Arp sculptural shoes has also worked for Michael Kors, Adrian Vitadini, Esprit, Terry Mugler, Claude Montana and Rockport. I first met Bernard in Hollywood in the 1980s when he was still a student at the famous Studio Bercot in Paris, we had a very short lived affair, and I must admit I went wild for his muscular, taunt and tiny frame, bubblicious booty and humungous peni. He stopped speaking to me about 10 years ago over an article I wrote for Dutch Magazine about him--- you know how tempermental the French are. I wonder if he is still with his black lover. Bernard was always quite a dinge queen. His life partner had a child from a previous relationship that they were raising together. Bernard and his significant other, had an apartment in Brooklyn, but built a house from scratch in upstate New York as their place of retreat. I will be going back to New York in March for a presentation at Columbia University. Who knows maybe I will run into Bernard on the street.
Someone from my past that I did run into on Broadway near SoHo during the Performa Biennale was “She, Who Must Be Obeyed.” “She” is a successful make-up artist now, but when I knew her in Los Angeles in the early 90s she was a FIT and aspiring young drag queen who also happens to be an amputee. I will never forget the PME show I did opening up for L7 and “She” was my gogo girl, we staged a catfight, and as I pulled off her jacket, the audience gasped in horror thinking I tore off her arm along with the coat.

For those of you living in Lancaster, England please check out the Spill Performance Tarot Exhibition that is part of the show Looking Aside-Eventhood and the Documentation of Performance that will run into December 11th at the Peter Scott Gallery. The famed photo collaboration I did with hunky Italian art photographer Manuel Vason is featured in this show along with other collabs he made with Ron Athey, Dom Johnson, Marissa Carnesky, & others.

Received a sweet emug from LA artist Skot Armstrong of Science Holiday. Skot is an LA treasure, and he and his life partner James Tallon are two of the most wonderful people on the planet. So glad that we have reconnected.

PHÄNOMENAL SEXUAL
Saturday was a very busy day for the doll. Not only was she filming video sections of the new Bruce La Bruce stage piece The Bad Breast on the streets of East Germany, but later the same evening she was the special guest of German novelist Thomas Meineke and his Plattenspieler at HAU 2. Besides writing novels, the handsome, barrelchested Mr. Meineke is a music fanatic and radio disc jockey. Our tag teaming record playing and discussion spanned the decades, from the 1920s to the 1980s with my ending our set with the Glasgow girl band Strawberry Switchblade. There was some Jayne County, Sylvester, Purse, Mae West, Dolly Parton and Glen Meadmore thrown into the mix. Mr. Meineke is a huge Glen Meadmore fan which was a very pleasant surprise. In all it was a nice free flowing evening of music and frivolity with a little bit of the performative shaking up the format. Seen in the audience: film historian Marc Siegel and beautiful actress girlfriend Susanne Sachsse, musical wunderkind kJohnny Blue and girly friend Nadine of Neu Kölln. The Arsenal gang of Empress Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, Nanna Heidenreich, Olga Damnitz, Uli Ziemons & Nadja Talmi, Norweigan artist Eline McGeorge, Goor Zankl of the KW, Evan Dando of the Lemonheads, young blondine journalist Felix Knoke of Der Spiegel, Brazillian performance artist Nando with Lisa Schmidt of The Bad Breast, Anna Multer, Meike Harmsen & beau, cutie pie Swedish video artist Gunsi Holstrom and Molly Crabapple of New York´s Dr. Sketchy´s Anti Art School.
Sunday was the 2 year anniversary of Rising Stars, Falling Stars with a rare screening of the Louise Brooks film Prix de Beaute from 1929. The film looked incredible, but performing live on clavier was the remarkable Eunice Martin who was literally on fire doing double duty interpretation as this print shown had no untertitles. We were actually showing the dubbed sound version, minus the sound. To explain: this film was originally shot as a silent but because it was made at that weird point between silent and sound, a bad quicky dubbed sound version was released on its initial theatrical run in 1930. Nevertheless with the great Eunice Martin´s masterful musical touch everyone could understand what was going on, and then some. The hoity polloi in the crowd included: The Arsenal Gang Stefanie Schulte Strathaus, Nanna Heidenreich, Olga Damnitz, Uli Ziemons, Nadja Talmi, The Chocolate Grinder Film Kollective of Little Alex, Tasty Tim, Julian Minet Radlmeier, Mourning Becomes Electra! and assorted posse members, Assaf Hochman, John Heys, scholar Tavia Nyongo and pal Michael, art photogs Annette Frick and Elly Clark with gal pal, Ela of bb books, Ali Clark and girlfriend, Lara the famous Latvian art historian, Agnese Luse from Center for Contemporary Art in Latvia, prima ballerina Beatrice Cordua, Marc Siegel, transgender starlet Kaey, Evan Dando with Evan Rachel Wood the ex girlfriend of rock star Marilyn Manson and the star of the new Woody Allen film Whatever Works. Ms. Wood is doing research on Louise Brooks as she is going to play her in a new biopic.

WAS GEHT SONST NOCH?
Attacked by insomnia the other evening which made early morning rehearsals seem like they dragged on infinitum. The beautiful Beth Ditto and her band The Gossip blew into town along with Cody Critchloe and his art kollective SSION. Judy LaBruce and I were put on the guest list and given VIP all access passes. Judy went into photographer mode snapping pictures like she was at the opening of a bag of potatoe chips. Amazing show by Ms. Ditto and company. The starina of starinas was suffering from bronchitis, but it didn´t show in her performance or enthusiasm. She is the ultimate professional and gives her audience 300%. Gossip manager Tara, aka: Annie Oakley of the Sex Workers Art Tour was also looking ravishing wearing an Anna Karenina chapeau. Sweet Cody Critchloe looks like the bastard child of Liza Minnelli and John (Gomez Adams) Astin. I love his mid-western Southern whimsy. Cody has also become quite the art star and will present his new electronic rock opera at Peres Projects Gallery in Los Angeles come Januar. The generous Ms. Ditto also bestowed upon the doll an Issey Miyake gown and Ferragamo perfume which I will wear on Saturday at HAU 2 8pm when i participate in Plattenspieler with Thomas Meineke. Being a fashion icon the Lady Ditto has been given a collection of wonderous couture from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld who considers her his new muse. After the incredible sold out performance Judy LaBruce took the band to Chantal´s House of Shame for some oldskool debauchery.
Just received a sweet little missive from lovesexy academic, critic with Freize Magazine and live artist Dom Johnson:
Hey VD
Lovely to hear from you. I had a wonderful time in New York too -- just got back to London a few hours ago after a nightflight. Was sorry to have missed you by a day. Slava Mogutin and Brian Kenny are the best hosts, and really took care of me. I got lots done, including a bit of Jack Smith research, visited lots of exhibitions (some actually quite good), showed some performance documentation in a queer video festival, and went out to bars and clubs -- we went to a totally obscene blatino hustler bar, where boys in g-strings were getting rimmed on tables. It was straight out of Samuel Delany or something. Early in the week I had a very hot night with a babyfaced tattooed lovemachine. He's what Slava calls a "pussythug". I am now wondering why I meet perfect boys in other countries, from Toby in Berlin to the pussythug in New York. Maybe I let my guard down on holiday, or capitalise on being a temporary exotique, or else all the London boys are simply less interesting?
I also met your girlfriend writer Bruce Benderson, and we seemed to really hit it off. What a riot he is! It was the most peculiar night, as he had a British Peter Berlin lookalike staying with him, who is living as Berlin circa 1975, and doing a project where he gets photographed in Berlinish poses by superstar photographers. He even got the aging original Peter Berlin to photograph him as his youthful self, which is pretty perverse. So while Slava was photographing the new PB (with a Dutch bowl haircut, in slutty white string pantyhose, cowboy boots and a little silk neckerchief), Bruce treated me to all sorts of cultural marginalia, from his memories of Manuel Puig and Jean-Pierre Aumont, to his photos of hustlers. He gave me his book of essays, Sex and Isolation, and I sat and read it cover to cover. Have you read it?
Yes I read Ian White's review of Live Film!Jack Smith! I've seen him around but I don't know him. I thought it was a really tight-arsed and ungenerous piece of writing. Maybe he just doesn't get the work. I can see how the event might have been repellent to people who only favour smartass conceptual bullshit.
Kisses,

IHREN MANN KÜMMERN
Upon arriving in New York for Performa Biennale everyone i ran into asked me about LIVE FILM! JACK SMITH! The word had definately spread about this momentus event. Finally I can finish my reportage on LIVE JACK!FILM SMITH! as i like to call it. The first day of the festival Jerry Tartaglia gave a humourous talk on the restoration process called Lost & Found followed by a short conversation with co-curator Marc Siegel and Superstar Mario Montez. Siegel and Ms. Montez had a much longer more formal power point presentation on Friday. During the break Gordon W. & his Greasy Spoon Catering Co. provided exotic munchies. In the Arsenal Atrium was a pearl installation by Daniel Hendrickson and Senol Senturk with more installations in the Rote Foyer and Black Box by John Heys, Michael Krebber, Klaus Mettig, Uzi Parnes, Kiki Peterson, Jerry Tartaglia and luscious young Sean Kirk. The first day of the festival heralded some fantastic premieres including a new short subject by legendary feminist director Ulrica Ottinger called Still Moving, a slide show by Wilhelm Hein and a whimsical Smithian romp by French gamine Maria Losier called Slap the Gondola that featured Tony Conrad and Genesis. P. Orridge as mermaids.
On the second day i could have shot myself in the arm for missing a lecture by Callie Angel of the Whitney. Ms. Angel is one of the most articulate speakers in the institutional art world, and she bring great foresight and clarity to whatever subject matter she touches. Her tome on Jack Smith & Andy Warhol Batman/Dracula had everyone in the festival buzzing. I did get to hear dapper Diedrich Diederichsen who teaches at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunst in Wien, and he along with Douglas Crimp are true academic starinas.
Later it was nice seeing a much more subdued Penny Arcade in conversation with booty pie Tim Stüttgen. Of the film premieras Tim Blue´s The Legacy was witty and rumbunctious featuring live performers re-acting and acting with filmed sequences. Tim´s LA fashion designer boyfriend Cornel Collins made an excellent Smith doppelganger, and the musical accompanyment by kJohnny Blue added to the merriment. After the screening the filmmaker did an impromptu striptease which added to the festive mood. Theater of 8, featuring glamazon Chloe Griffin and Gwenael Rattke presented Ramadan in Space Time a raucaus Super 8 film performance that featured many familiar local faces. This wasn´t a world premiere but it certainly fit in with the proceedings.
On Friday, the film premier that stole everyone´s heart was Charming For the Revolution by the lovely Pauline Boudry and Renate Lorenz that featured a dynamic performance from the intoxicating Werner Hirsch. Of course LF!JM! had its naysayers, and no one is more of a nay then artist/curator(hiccup)Miss Ian "Gorgeous" White of London´s Whitechappel Gallery. If you´re interested in reading what the twee art careerist had to say here is a link provided by one of my pals at the Tate Modern: www.lux.org.uk/blog/artistcurator-ian-whites-latest-blog-berlin-hellogoodbye. Its perfectly naff, and just what you´d expect from someone of his icky icy patrician ilk.
Upon arriving in New York for Performa Biennale everyone i ran into asked me about LIVE FILM! JACK SMITH! The word had definately spread about this momentus event. FRAUEN IM DAUERSTRESS
SRO crowds at Schwuz Mehringdamn as Bruce „Judy“ LaBruce and i tagteam dj´d behind them mighty wheels of steel from midnight to 5am. Judy was her usual loveable self insulting the audience while taking nips from a bag of wilde mushrooms and downing enough vodka shots and rum& coke to float Fire Island. While in her inebriated state she announced on the PA system a need for poppers that was quickly responded to by none other then actress Nastassia Kinski, with a handsome young male companion(was it one of her kids from her marriage to Quincy Jones?) Seen dancing shirtless and sports bra-less writer Travis Jeppeson, Slovakian graphic artist Mario D. with Tennessee Clafin the concubine to A list Hollywood directors Gus Van Sant and Bryan Singer, Brazillian performance artist Nando Messias with Lisa Schmidt and Michael Giardina who are part of the new Hebbel Am Ufer theater piece The Bad Breast about female hysteria that La Bruce is directing that will premier on Dec 10th at HAU2 then go on tour to Vienna. In this third stage collaboration with Judy LaBruce, the first being Cheap Blacky in 2007 and the second Macho Family Romance, Susanne Sachsse and I once again play sisters. This time identical twins. I am not going to reveal anything more.
Having a hoot of a time dancing to a mixture of showtunes, hardcore California style punk and indie rock madness: Piero Bellomo of La Collezione, Daniel Hendrickson the translator to the stars, lovesexy Enrico Dallman, artists Elly Clark with actress Franka Potenta, Katja Maya, Evi Rüssler, Tim Stutkin, Wolfgang Tillmans, Michael von Fischbach, Yusuf Etiman- the guro of Basso, scholar Tavia Nyongo, Michael Scatturo, Christian F. Webber, ballet dancer Juan Martin del Potra and his beau the Prinze of Prinzlauber Daniel Brühl.

Sorry that I didn´t finish writing about Live Film! Jack Smith! or the Performa Biennale, I will try and rectify that situation soon. Want to give thankx to my Philly art school crew: Alex Hollenbach, Emily Schumacher & Julia Rexon who created and designed the wearable sculpture that was the costumes for PME plus NYU students Jean Kim provided the gorgeous video montages that were projected on pillars in the performance space, and Max Vernon who was my fey PA.
The big gossip about Performa 2009 Biennale was the ostentatious opening party which featured chopped down apple trees so that guests could just pick one from the branches and a supply of honey dipped ribs that mainly went uneaten. Rich people don´t eat, thats how they stay skinny. I hadn´t arrived to New York for the opening festivities, but my spies told me that it was quite wasteful that most of these ribs were thrown away at the end of the evening. Imagine throwing away good food when people are starving. Never saw RoseLee Goldberg as she didn´t come to any of the events i was a part of, but i did get to snoogle from her handsome young son Pierce Jackson who I would love to get into bed. I was told that he is a rice queen, so unless i have a race conversion into an Asian girl I don´t stand a chance with him. Too bad.
I was kept so busy that I didn´t see any Performa events. But i heard that Fischerspooner performed, along with Terence Koh, Mike Kelly and a piece by Israeli artist and Berlin resident Keren Cyter. I like Keren. She is an art world careerist like no other, but there is something about her damage that fascinates me.
Participant Inc. Gallery, a not for profit space which is run by the gorgeous Ms. Lia Gangitano and the Nothing Up My Sleeve exhibition was also staged in conjunction with Beginningless Thought/Endless Seeing: The Works of Stuart Sherman curated by John Hagan, Yolanda Hawkins and John Matturri at NYUs 80WSE Gallery and a screening of selected films and Videos of Stuart Sherman curated and hosted by Berenice Reynaud at NYUs Einstein Auditorium.
Oops i am so dumb i forgot that Sherrie & Ernie the legendary New York experimental film couple were at my Performa show at Santos and also Nao Bustamante. I know I am forgetting many others, and i will do the complete list when i get it from Lia of Participant who did the door and knows just who came and who didn´t.
Yes i also promised to post the lyrics of the new PME song Sity of Sinn, so here they are:
LA is the sity the sity was in LA is the sity of Sinn
The girls are all pretty as pretty as boys and that is the state that they´re in
LA is the sity the sity digs in LA is the sity of Sin
The smell of amnesia a portnoy upend and thats just a means to an end
Your penis, my gina your hienous, my heinous
Your grievance, convenience your enus my anus
Death panels by Chanel death paneling cartel
Death index Costume Nationelle
You are sliding down that slippery, slithery, salacious slope of socialism
Natering, niggery, nabobs of negativism
Hopeless, hysterical hissy, hippy hypopchondriacs
Catty, cunty, congenital ca-liars
Speaking ex-edrin ex-cathedral

Besides studio visits with grad students I also did artist talks for several colleges including a big artist talk at the Tisch Building at NYU for the performance studies department who have a brand new amphitheatre complete with disco mirror ball. This presentation was facilitated by juicy grad student Aliza Schvartz, who became a cause celebre when she was at Yale University as an undergrad and did a series of abortion related performances that rocked that campus. Aliza attended Ron Athey´s performance art boot camp in the high desert with Julie Tolentino and Heather of Toxic Titties, so it was like I had known her all along. Also Leon Hilton the cute and cuddly 23 year old is a black sheep member of the Hilton dynasty who has disowned himself from his wealthy clan. At my talk was Jack Waters, Richard Move who was part of the Jackie 60 Family and is getting his Phd in Performance Studies—Ms. Move does a salute to Martha Grahamn that you have to see to believe, Caroline Dinshaw of Queering the Renaissance fame, young zinestar Max Steel and actor James Franco who is in the film department at NYU but has shown quite an interest in all things queer --ODing on queer cinema studies and queer theory. Perhaps Mr. Franco has a little sugar in his tank. Was reunited at my artist talk with the lovely Russian, Armenian grad student Mashinka Firunts and her dapper husband Jeremy. Both were regulars at my Club Bricktops at the Parlour Club in Hollywood. Ms. Firunts is now going to school at Columbia. Later she and her spouse took me to dinner at the Freeman Sporting Club on Rivington Street on the lower east side where i had some yummy comfort food and the best vodka gimlets in all of Christendom.
