Matt Lambert the lovesexy French fashion photographer and filmmaker has become Berlin´s premiere event planner and producer along with his juicy German husband Jannis. The hotsy totsy pair brought volume five in their series to the Volksbühne for a Sunday Church Service and Going to High Falutin Meeting Special par excellante. Co-curating was the Turkish scholar and video maker Emre Busse, and let me tell you it was a memorable evening of lofty sensuous hijinkx that brought me back decades to the heyday of porno cinema excursions in Hollywood proper like the Century Theater on Normandie at Hollywood Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd´s Tom Kat Theater (not to be confused with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) New York´s famed 42nd Street Gay Blue Movie Emporiums, some which featured floor shows of Puerto Rican chorus boys doing helicopters with their peni and ending each evenings performance with choreographed ejaculations into the audience. Now that´s what I call entertainment.
Not to be outdone but the Volksbühner came alive with a gorgeous SRO crowd of the creme de la creme of Berlin high society hooting and hollering to the greats like Bijou Classix, Rebecca More´s Cock Destroyers (2017), Michelle Handelman´s Homophobia is Known to Cause Nightmares (1989), prissy William E. Jones´ The Fall of Communism as Seen in Gay Pornography (1998), the hilarious The Visit by Jan Soldat featuring two very wise elderly German women philosophers (2015) and Döner für Sex (2005).
The Programs highlights being Annie Sprinkle´s Herstory of Porn(1973) and Sluts and Goddesses which features the always fearless sexpert Trash and the enigmatic Chris Teen Martin(Super 8 1/2, Three Faces of Women). I go way back with Miss Annie who continues in her brilliant creative tradition along with current partner Beth Stephens. Trash and Chris Teen have been adored on both the West and East Coast with Chris whose older sister Anne Marie Martin use to be married to the late Michael Crichton(The Andromeda Strain, Coma, Jurassic Park).
Of course the curators Mr. Busse with his The Man Who Perceives All (2024) which is sci-fi Batailles deluze adaise and M. Lambert and his sexually gifted youngsters in Klappe (2022) had to get in on the act, and this is a case where more is more was very much appreciated with the proceedings ending nicely with a combined video and live performance by the super post porn Glee style group The A-Rousers.
Pornucopia and high school musical theater --who could ask for anything more then music and rhythm. I got rhythm!
